WELCOME TO THE 4TH ANNUAL WHITE MEADOW CHAROLAIS BULL SALE.

Although this is the 4th Annual White Meadow bull sale, Michael has been selling Charolais bulls for decades. He has many repeat customers and for good reason.

ese bulls get out and work with no problems. Some top purebred operations have discovered the quality of bulls here and you will see the White Meadow name expanding. e sale moved a few weeks earlier to accommodate some customers who wanted to get their bulls bought earlier. Last year, there was some good buying with dollars for quality, as good as you will nd on a set of these bulls.

Top to bottom, this is a very solid set of coming two-year old and long yearling bulls that are quiet, sound and consistent. Michael has two calving periods with some calving in May-June and then the fall program calving in September-October. ey calve on grass, just like many of you do. He does this to spread the work load out as he basically is a one-man operation and has used an extensive AI program for years. Again, this year there are many ½ and ¾ brothers on o er with the proven LT Sundance bull in many of the pedigrees. is year many of the bulls are sired by the highly proven Pleasant Dawn Chisum bull. Calving ease, easy doing and thick. e whole program has great bred-in calving ease but still enough genetic punch to give you the market topping calves. Touring the operation and picturing some of the bulls’ dams this summer I found a sound, good uddered set of females that raise their calves on their own.

Come and view the bulls, their dams and the program in a relaxed atmosphere and get to know Michael if you have not met him before. He has been involved in the Charolais breed all his life and is a real historian on the breed and pedigrees.

e bulls are selling through the DLMS Farmgate Timed Online Auction. Online bidding will open on Wednesday, March 20th at 9:00 am DST and close at 7:00 pm DST on ursday, March 21st, with a racehorse style close with extending bidding time. On behalf of Ava and myself, I would like to welcome you to our 4th online bull sale. ank you for considering our genetics for your breeding requirements.

ank you also to all our past customers over the past four decades for your support of our breeding program. Our goal is to produce bulls that will go out and produce calves that will have strong industry acceptance. To see our customers sell calves at the top of the market and be rewarded for all their hard work is very gratifying for us.

Our farm is located on marginal sandy land and the cowherd is pastured on native marshland pastures. e cowherd has calved on grass for decades, and as such, we have selected genetics that can thrive in this environment. Short gestation length, calf vigor at birth and females with sound teat and udder quality are a must. By utilizing an extensive A.I. program, we are able to access high accuracy sires that allow us to achieve those important traits while maintaining high performance levels.

e bulls are summered on grass with access to a low energy high ber pellet. e bulls are brought home in October to be further developed on a 14% high bull developer pellet that contains optimum levels of chelated minerals along with free choice grass or green feed hay. e bulls have access to a 15-acre paddock for lots of winter exercise.

Fill out the registration form to signup for a free user account and it allows you to select a username and password for use on all Farm Gate Timed auctions. is program will send you text and email messages whenever there is activity on your favorite lots or someone challenges your proxy bid and this is why you will be asked for both your current email and cell phone number. If you are a past participant in the Farm Gate Timed auctions, simply enter your user name and password to continue. is takes you to a list of both current and upcoming Farm Gate Auctions.

2. You can choose your favourite lots in this sale at this time and the program will allow you to open either all sale lots or just your favorite lots on your screen. Any time there is active bidding on a lot you have identi ed on your favorite list you will get a text and/or an email noting this activity.

3. e program allows you to place a proxy bid on any sale lot. is in fact protects your interest in any lot of interest for you to a speci ed dollar value you set, when you may not be able to give 100% attention to the sale. If the lot has a $2000 bid on it, and you place a proxy bid of $3500 into the system,

the computer will bid $2100 for you, but if some one else bids $2200, the computer will again bid for you, this time at $2300. e system will look a er your interest to a maximum of $3500. If another bidder is on at $3600, your proxy will no longer be e ective and you will no longer have the winning bid on this lot without once again logging in and bidding again, or moving your attention to a second lot of interest.

4. At closing time of the sale, the entire sale will extend bidding for 5 minutes, if a bid is placed on any lot in the sale. Any bid received a er close time will extend the sale by 5 minutes from the time of that bid. When no bidding occurs for 5 minutes, the computer will declare the sale nished.

5. Within 24 hours of the sale close, the Sale Manager will contact all winning bidders to arrange payment, transfer of pedigrees and delivery/pick up of your lot.

WHAT IS A RACEHORSE STYLE CLOSE?

Racehorse style sale close is when the entire sale stays open in extended bidding. is type of sale allows you as the bidder to change to a di erent lot within the same sale if the bidding has gone in to extended bidding.

HOW EXTENDED BIDDING WORKS

When we get to the close out end time, the clock for close extends with any bid placed with less than 5 minutes on the clock. is type of extended bidding turns the end time to more of a so time. Extended bidding allows bidders to compete in lots like a real auction and gives all bidders the same time to make a decision. Always follow the clock to see how much time remains in the sale you are interested in.

TERMS & CONDITIONS

TERMS: e terms of the sale are cash or cheque payable immediately a er the sale in Canadian funds. All settlements must be made before cattle will be released. e right of property will not pass until nal payment is made.

BIDDING: Each animal will sell to the highest bidder. Bidders may phone their bids and instructions to the sale manager, or owner. Bids must be received in su cient time prior to the sale.

ANNOUNCEMENTS: Announcements made sale day will take precedence over printed matter in the catalogue. Buyers are cautioned to pay close attention to announcements.

PURCHASER’S RISK: Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser as soon as sold. Animals will be cared for at the purchaser’s risk for a reasonable length of time. All animals le with the seller must be insured.

CERTIFICATE OF REGISTRATION: Each animal will carry papers issued by the Canadian Charolais Association. A certi cate of registry duly transferred will be furnished to the buyer a er payment has been made.

DELIVERY: Assistance will be given in making delivery a er the sale. e purchaser agrees shipping arrangements will be at the convenience of the seller, but will be as soon as practical a er the sale, at the buyer’s risk.

BREEDER GUARANTEE - BULLS: Should any bull fourteen months of age or over, fail to prove a breeder a er being used on cows known to be breeders, the matter shall be reported in writing

to the seller within six months following the date of purchase or six months a er the bull has reached fourteen months of age. e seller has the right and privilege of six months to prove the bull a breeder. No guarantee is given that semen collected from the bull will freeze.

EXCEPTION GUARANTEE: In case where the animal is subjected to any hormonal or surgical reproductive techniques a er the sale, this guarantee shall be null and void. e seller is not responsible for damage caused by foreign bodies a er the animal has been sold or for sickness not apparent at sale time. In no event shall the seller be responsible for more than the purchase price.

ACCIDENTS: Although every precaution will be taken to protect the safety and comfort of buyers, neither the sale manager, or seller assume any responsibility and disclaim any liability, legal or otherwise, in the event of accident or loss of property.

BY LIVESTOCK is only acting as a medium between the buyer and seller and is not responsible for failure on the part of either party to live up to their obligations; or for the truth of any warrantees or representations, expressed or implied.
