Hayman Reese expands X-Bar range

MORE VEHICLES TO GET TOW BAR BUILT AUSSIE TOUGH FOR KIWI OUTDOOR ADVENTURES

Hayman Reese’s popular X-Bar is specifically designed to fit seven of the most popular fourwheel-drive utes along with the new Ford Ranger and VW Amarok models that are coming in May. X-Bar is the first tow bar to come with three recovery attachment points. The two outboard points are rated to four tonnes while the central recovery point is rated to eight tonnes. It is the only 8000kg rated recovery tow bar on the market. That gives off-roaders plenty of scope for recovering their own or other vehicles, plus configurable towing options. Tow balls have been used in vehicle-recovery operations before now, but they are simply not safe for attaching strops — especially for any snatch-type manoeuvres. Shackles and closed towing eyes as fitted to the X-Bar are much safer.

The new ute-body range is designed specifically to fit with the vehicle’s original rear step bumper and maintains the X-Bar advantages of recovery rating, engineered for strength and superior style. The X-Bar ute incorporates a quick-release cover plate, which has been specifically designed to lift and lock open when towing. This new feature provides easy access to hitch pin, shackles, and trailer plugs and pulls down for a clean look when not towing. The forged

ball mount, increased side-plate thickness, and forged rated recovery points ensure that the heavy-duty X-Bar is ready to handle towing and recovery needs.

The X-Bar comes with Metalshield two-stage paint protection as standard, SmartClick vehiclespecific wiring solutions, and a bolt bag. It also comes with a 50mm tow ball. A 1 ⁷ / ₈ -inch tow ball is available as an option.

The X-Bar is priced from $1667.50 plus fitting and wiring. It is available now at Hayman Reese stockists around New Zealand. See x-bar.co.nz.
