Overview

Your national forests offer a diversity of outdoor opportunities. These lands are yours to visit, to care for, but most of all, to enjoy. What are you waiting for? Pack up your family and friends and head for adventure in America’s Great Outdoors. The San Bernardino National Forest offers a variety of recreational opportunities: hiking and backpacking, trail riding on horseback, bicycle, off-highway vehicles, camping, picnicking, fishing, and don’t forget winter activities such as snowshoeing, cross-country and alpine skiing.

Recreation passes and permits, like the Adventure Pass, are required for use of certain recreation sites and areas in the forest, and for certain facilities and services.

Rules & Regulations

For everyone’s enjoyment and safety, please adhere to the rules and regulations.

• Speed limit is 10 miles per hour in the campground! Watch for children at play, people walking and riding bikes.

• Park all 4 tires on pavement.

• Back into your site. This is a safety precaution in case of an evacuation.

• Fires must be kept small and in the fire ring. Burn firewood only! When fire restrictions are in effect, no fires are allowed.

• Quiet hours are from 10 pm to 6 am. Voices travel at night. Keep it down to a whisper at your campfire after 10 pm.

• Dogs must be restrained at all times. Dogs must be on a leash (no longer than 6 feet) and attached to a person, or in a kennel.

Getting There

• Please clean up after your pet.

• No chain saws are permitted!

• Do not leave food out; we are in Bear Country!

• Do not wash your dishes or bathe in the hydrants; this will clog the drains and attract wild animals.

• Please do not walk through occupied camp sites.

• Check out is at NOON; sites need to be cleaned for the next campers.

• No projectiles of any kind (e.g. guns, bows, slingshots) are allowed in the campground.

• No more than 8 people are permitted in a single site, 16 in a double site. This is strongly enforced.

From I-10 in Redlands, take Highway 330 to Highway 18 in Running Springs. Continue east on Highway 18 at Big Bear Lake Dam, but do not cross the dam. Turn left onto Highway 38, and continue on Highway 38 to North Shore Lane. Campground is a 1/2 mile on left side of road, across from Meadows Edge Day Use.
