It came upon a Midnight Clear

Angels we have heard on high

It came upon the midnight clear, That glorious song of old, From angels bending near the earth To touch their harps of gold: “Peace on the earth, good will to men, From heaven’s all-gracious King.” The world in solemn stillness lay To hear the angels sing.

Gloria in excelsis Deo. Gloria in excelsis Deo. Shepherds, why this jubilee? Why your joyous strains prolong? What the gladsome tidings be Which inspire your heavenly song? Gloria in excelsis Deo. Gloria in excelsis Deo.

Still through the cloven skies they come With peaceful wings unfurled, And still their heavenly music floats O’er all the weary world; Above its sad and lowly plains They bend on hovering wing, And ever o’er its Babel-sounds The blessed angels sing. For lo! the days are hastening on, By prophet bards foretold. When with the ever-circling years Comes round the age of gold When peace shall over all the earth Its ancient splendors fling, And the whole world give back the song Which now the angels sing.

Angels we have heard on high, Sweetly singing o'er the plain, And the mountains in reply Echoing their joyous strain.

Come to Bethlehem and see Him whose birth the angels sing; Come, adore on bended knee Christ, the Lord, the newborn King. Gloria in excelsis Deo. Gloria in excelsis Deo.

Oh little town of Bethlehem

We Three Kings

O little town of Bethlehem, How still we see thee lie! Above thy deep and dreamless sleep The silent stars go by; Yet in thy dark streets shineth The everlasting Light; The hopes and fears of all the years Are met in thee to-night.

We three kings of Orient are Bearing gifts we traverse afar. Field and fountain, moor and mountain, Following yonder star.

For Christ is born of Mary, And gathered all above, While mortals sleep, the angels keep Their watch of wondering love. O morning stars, together Proclaim the holy birth! And praises sing to God the King, And peace to men on earth. \How silently, how silently, The wondrous gift is given! So God imparts to human hearts The blessings of his heaven. No ear may hear his coming, But in this world of sin, Where meek souls will receive him still The dear Christ enters in. O holy Child of Bethlehem! Descend to us, we pray; Cast out our sin and enter in, Be born in us to-day. We hear the Christmas angels The great glad tidings tell; O come to us, abide with us, Our Lord Emmanuel!

Chorus O star of wonder, star of night, Star with royal beauty bright, Westward leading, still proceeding, Guide us to thy perfect Light. Born a king on Bethlehem’s plain, Gold I bring to crown Him again, King forever, ceasing never Over us all to reign. (Chorus) Frankincense to offer have I. Incense owns a Deity nigh. Prayer and praising all men raising, Worship Him, God most high. (Chorus) Myrrh is mine: Its bitter perfume Breaths a life of gathering gloom. Sorrowing, sighing, bleeding, dying, Sealed in a stone-cold tomb. (Chorus) Glorious now behold Him arise, King and God and Sacrifice. Alleluia, alleluia! Sounds through the earth and skies. (Chorus)

We wish you a Merry Christmas

Angels from the realms of glory

We wish you a Merry Christmas; We wish you a Merry Christmas; We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Good tidings we bring to you and your kin; Good tidings for Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Angels, from the realms of glory, Wing your flight o'er all the earth; Ye, who sang creation's story, Now proclaim Messiah's birth:

Oh, bring us some figgy pudding; Oh, bring us some figgy pudding; Oh, bring us some figgy pudding and a cup of good cheer. Refrain

We won’t go until we get some; We won’t go until we get some; We won’t go until we get some, so bring some out here. Refrain

We wish you a Merry Christmas; We wish you a Merry Christmas; We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Refrain Come and worship, Come and worship, Worship Christ, the newborn King. Shepherds in the field abiding, Watching o'er your flocks by night, God with man is now residing; Yonder shines the infant Light: Refrain Sages, leave your contemplations, Brighter visions beam afar: Seek the great Desire of nations; Ye have seen his natal star: Refrain

Saints before the altar bending, Watching long in hope and fear, Suddenly the Lord, descending, In His temple shall appear: Refrain

The First Noel

The Holly and the Ivy

The first Noel, the angel did say, Was to certain poor shepherds in fields as they lay; In fields where they lay keeping their sheep, On a cold winter's night that was so deep.

The holly and the ivy, When they are both full grown, Of all the trees that are in the wood, The holly bears the crown:

Refrain Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel, Born is the King of Israel. They looked up and saw a star Shining in the East, beyond them far; And to the earth it gave great light, And so it continued both day and night. Refrain And by the light of that same star, Three wise men came from country far; To seek for a King was their intent, And to follow the star wherever itwent. Refrain This star drew night to the northwest, O'er Bethlehem it took its rest; And there it did both stop and stay, Right over the place where Jesus lay. Refrain Then entered in those wise men three, Full reverently upon their knee; And offered there in his presence, Their gold, and myrrh, and frankincense.

Refrain O, the rising of the sun, And the running of the deer; The playing of the merry organ, Sweet singing in the choir. The holly bears a blossom As white as lily flow'r, And Mary bore sweet Jesus Christ To be our dear Saviour. Refrain The holly bears a berry As red as any blood, And Mary bore sweet Jesus Christ To do poor sinners good. Refrain The holly bears a prickle As sharp as any thorn, And Mary bore sweet Jesus Christ On Christmas Day in the morn. Refrain The holly bears a bark As bitter as the gall, And Mary bore sweet Jesus Christ For to redeem us all. Refrain The holly and the ivy When they are both full grown, Of all trees that are in the wood, The holly bears the crown. Refrain

Joy to the World

God Rest you Merry Gentlemen

Joy to the world! the Lord is come; Let earth receive her King; Let every heart prepare Him room, and heaven and nature sing, And heaven and nature sing, and heaven, and heaven and nature sing.

God rest you merry, gentlemen, Let nothing you dismay, Remember Christ our Savior Was born on ChristmasDay; To save us all from Satan's power When we were gone astray.

Joy to the earth! the Savior reigns; Let men their songs employ; While fields and floods, rocks, hills and plains; Repeat the sounding joy, Repeat the sounding joy, Repeat, repeat the sounding joy. No more let sins and sorrows grow, nor thorns infest the ground; He comes to make His blessing flow; far as the curse is found, Far as the curse is found, Far as, far as the curse is found. He rules the world with truth and grace, and makes the nations prove The glories of His righteousness, and wonders of His love, And wonders of His love, and wonders, wonders of His love.

Refrain O tidings of comfort and joy, Comfort and joy, O tidings of comfort and joy! From God our heavenly Father A blessed angel came; And unto certain shepherds Brought tidings of the same; How that in Bethlehem was born The Son of God by name. Refrain Now to the Lord sing praises, All you within this place, And with true love and brotherhood Each other now embrace; This holy tide of Christmas Doth bring redeeming grace. Refrain

Away in a manger

What Child is this?

Away in a manger, no crib for a bed, The little Lord Jesus laid down His sweet head.

What child is this, who, laid to rest, On Mary’s lap is sleeping? Whom angels greet with anthems sweet, While shepherds watch are keeping?

The stars in the sky looked down where He lay, The little Lord Jesus, asleep on the hay. The cattle are lowing, the Baby awakes, But little Lord Jesus, no crying He makes; I love Thee, Lord Jesus, look down from the sky And stay by my cradle til morning is nigh. Be near me, Lord Jesus, I ask Thee to stay Close by me forever, and love me, I pray; Bless all the dear children in Thy tender care, And fit us for Heaven to live with Thee there.

Refrain This, this is Christ the King, Whom shepherds guard and angels sing: Haste, haste to bring him laud, The babe, the son of Mary. Why lies he in such mean estate, Where ox and ass are feeding? Good Christian, fear: for sinners here, The silent Word is pleading. Refrain

Good King Wenceslas Good King Wenceslas looked out on the feast of Stephen, when the snow lay round about, deep and crisp and even. Brightly shone the moon that night, though the frost was cruel, when a poor man came in sight, gathering winter fuel. “Hither, page, and stand by me. If thou knowst it telling: yonder peasant, who is he? Where and what his dwelling?” "Sire, he lives a good league hence, underneath the mountain, right against the forest fence by Saint Agnes fountain.” “Bring me flesh, and bring me wine. Bring me pine logs hither. Thou and I will see him dine when we bear them thither.”

Page and monarch, forth they went, forth they went together through the rude wind's wild lament and the bitter weather. “Sire, the night is darker now, and the wind blows stronger. Fails my heart, I know not how. I can go no longer." “Mark my footsteps, my good page, tread thou in them boldly: Thou shalt find the winter's rage freeze thy blood less coldly.” In his master's step he trod, where the snow lay dented. Heat was in the very sod which the saint had printed. Therefore, Christian men, be sure, wealth or rank possessing, ye who now will bless the poor shall yourselves find blessing.

Once in Royal David’s City

I have a little Dreidel

Once in royal David's city Stood a lowly cattle-shed, Where a mother laid her Baby In a manger for his bed: Mary was that mother mild, Jesus Christ her little child.

I have a little dreidel I made it out of clay, And when it’s dry and ready Then dreidel I shall play.

He came down to earth from heaven, Who is God and Lord of all, And His shelter was a stable, And his cradle was a stall; With the poor, the meek, and lowly, Lived on earth our Saviour holy. And, through all His wondrous childhood He would honor, and obey, Love, and watch the lowly maiden In whose gentle arms He lay; Christian children all must be Mild, obedient, good as He. For He is our childhood's pattern, Day by day like us He grew; He was little, weak, and helpless, Tears and smiles like us He knew: And he feeleth for our sadness, And he shareth in our gladness. And our eyes at last shall see Him, Through His own redeeming love; For that Child so dear and gentle Is our Lord in heaven above; And He leads His children on To the place where He is gone.

Chorus O dreidel, dreidel, dreidel I made it out of clay, And when it’s dry and ready Then dreidel I shall play. It has a lovely body With legs so short and thin, And when my dreidel’s tired It drops and then I win. Chorus My dreidel’s always playful It loves to dance and spin, A happy game of dreidel Come play now, let’s begin. Chorus

Mince the garlic and onion; add half the garlic and onion to apricots, pour half the whiskey into the bowl, then add brown sugar and let sit for 30 minutes. Toss root vegetables in half the olive oil, rest of the garlic, and some salt and pepper. Roast for about 25 minutes at 425°F.

tissue (will make it tough). Sprinkle with salt and pepper all over. Drain apricots and reserve the liquid. Place apricots and sage leaves in center of leg and roll. Tie up leg with butcher cord or a skewer will work to hold it together. In a heavy skillet, that is oven safe, add oil and heat up on medium high heat. Place leg in pan and sear on all sides until browned. Pull out vegetables from oven and lower the temperature to 375-400°F. Add vegetables to pan. Add half the beef stock, remaining whiskey and half the molasses to pan and bring up to a boil and place into oven. Cook until desired doneness, 30-40 minutes for medium rare-medium. Once finished, place leg of lamb aside to rest, and strain liquid into a small pot and add rest of the beef stock, bring to a boil, and simmer until reduces by half. Slice lamb into portions and plate with chosen side and roasted vegetables, drizzle sauce over lamb and serve.

While vegetables are roasting prepare the lamb, cut off any excess fat and connective 2 servings.

Do they know it’s Christmas? Christmastime, there’s no need to be afraid At Christmastime, we let in light and we banish shade And in our world of plenty we can spread a smile of joy Throw your arms around the world at Christmastime But say a prayer, pray for the other ones At Christmastime it’s hard, but when you’re having fun There’s a world outside your window, and it’s a world of dread and fear Where the only water flowing is the bitter sting of tears And the Christmas bells that ring there are the clanging chimes of doom Well tonight thank God it’s them instead of you

And there won’t be snow in Africa this Christmastime The greatest gift they’ll get this year is life(Oooh) Where nothing ever grows No rain or rivers flow Do they know it’s Christmastime at all? Here’s to you raise a glass for everyone Here’s to them underneath that burning sun Do they know it’s Christmastime at all? Feed the world Feed the world Feed the world Let them know it’s Christmastime again Feed the world Let them know it’s Christmastime again

Oh come, all ye faithful

Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer

O come, all ye faithful, joyful and triumphant, Come ye, O come ye, to Bethlehem. Come and behold Him, born the King of angels;

You know Dasher and Dancer and Prancer and Vixen, Comet and Cupid And Donner and Blitzen. But do you recall The most famous reindeer of all?

Refrain O come, let us adore Him, O come, let us adore Him, O come, let us adore Him, Christ the Lord. Sing, choirs of angels, sing in exultation; Sing, all ye citizens of heaven above! Glory to God, all glory in the highest;

Rudolph, the red-nosed reindeer had a very shiny nose and if you ever saw it you would even say it glows. All of the other reindeer used to laugh and call him names they never let poor Rudolph join in any reindeer games.

Refrain Yea, Lord, we greet Thee, born this happy morning; Jesus, to Thee be glory given; Word of the Father, now in flesh appearing. Refrain

Then one foggy Christmas eve Santa came to say: “Rudolph with your nose so bright won’t you guide my sleigh tonight?” Then how the reindeer loved him as they shouted out with glee (yippee) “Rudolph, the red-nosed reindeer you’ll go down in history.”

What could be more inviting Singing carols And fam’lies reuniting And it’s laughter Merriment and fun As we go once more around the sun There’s another year, fresh and clear, straight ahead Like a field of snow All across the land there’s a brand-new beginning now Just think of the things that could happen Hang on, everyone!
