Introduction to the

MASTER OF SCIENCE IN NURSING DEGREE The online Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) at Northwest University’s Mark and Huldah Buntain College of Nursing allows you to advance your career in leadership, nursing education, policy development and regulatory practice, program evaluation, nursing research, quality improvement, and cross-cultural practice. Northwest University emphasizes and fosters the development of cross-cultural understanding and spiritual appreciation. The curriculum is designed to examine concepts of scholarly inquiry, servant leadership, outcome orientation, and innovation in the advancement of your clinical expertise across a variety of settings and organizational domains. You will gain specialized experience and knowledge with the design and implementation of a scholarly project aligned with your nursing interests. The scholarly project options are a translational research scholarly capstone or a thesis that generates new knowledge in the student’s area of focus. Scholarly projects are completed with the assistance of a scholarly project committee over the course of the program in focused research courses. Complete your program entirely online with practice experiences near you. Selected courses may be enriched by elective student participation in foreign or domestic travel. EARN YOUR MASTER OF SCIENCE IN NURSING ONLINE IN LESS THAN TWO YEARS. ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS • Graduate of an accredited Bachelor of Science in nursing program. • Clinical RN nursing practice is current within two years of application to the MSN online program. • Current and unencumbered RN license in Washington, Oregon, or Montana.
