Grant Basics Foundations, state, and federal entities offer funding opportunities for a variety of purposes. Learn to identify your needs, clarify your purpose, and articulate it in a written format. Look at the grant development process, its components, and terminology. Discover what grant writing is all about in this overview session and leave knowing where to start in developing a grant proposal. Grant Resources Explore ways to locate grant funders potentially interested in your project or program. Learn how to search a variety of resources including the web and publications. Better Stories by Design: Crafting Narratives that Stick Story is the basis of human connection. The best stories, the ones we tell again and again, contain a basic structure that makes them “sticky.” These stories interrupt, surprise, compel and spur to action. Becoming a great storyteller is an art, but also requires a process and good hard work. Come learn by doing and begin the process of crafting your compelling personal or professional story.

Nonprofit Earned Income for Your Nonprofit Is your nonprofit dependent on gifts, grants, and donations? Increasing Your Nonprofit Board’s Performance As a nonprofit leader, you know that the performance of your board is vital to success, but what does effective board performance look like? Learn about board self-assessment tools and how to use them, gain an understanding of the importance of board orientation and development, and discover how both help to increase performance long-term. So You Want to Start a Nonprofit Thinking about starting a new 501(c)(3) nonprofit but not sure what it takes? Or, grappling with the question of whether to be a nonprofit or for profit entity? FAA Remote Pilot (Drone) Test Preparation - Online

Business FAA Remote Pilot (Drone) Test Preparation - Classroom Sessions Get paid to fly a drone! This 2-day in-person classroom training will prepare you to take the FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot certification written test. This certification is required by the FAA to legally conduct commercial operations utilizing a Drone. Learn about drone regulations, weather, aeronautical charts, airspace, emergency procedures, and more. Could the use of drones assist you in your business endeavors? This self-paced online course prepares you to take the FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot written exam, which upon successful completion will certify you as a Commercial Drone Operator! This license is required by the FAA for conducting drone operations such as aerial photography, movie making, industrial inspections, emergency response, agriculture monitoring and more. It covers drone regulations, airspace, weather, aeronautical charts and safety practices. Work at your own pace (approx. 25 hours online); but complete by May 4, 2019. And you won’t be alone; your instructor is available via email, phone, or office visit to help you through the process. Fee does not include cost of the FAA test. Bookkeeping for Small Business Learn basic accounting principles for record keeping, terminology, and how to prepare financial statements. Business How to Read and Interpret Financial Statements Financial statements can answer many questions - if you know what to ask. We will explain the information different financial reports contain, what analyses you can use to bring it out, and how to relate the information to the overall health of the business. You will learn to view financial statements in the context of external economic conditions; read and interpret balance sheets, income statements, and statements of cash flow from a management perspective; and apply the right type of analysis - ratio, vertical, or horizontal - to the right statement, to uncover the information you need.
