Riding for a Cause!

Thank you for your contribution and participation in the 25th Anniversary of the Zimmerman MS Bike Ride Presented by Mack Cycle and Fitness. With support from over 2,500 participants, the National MS Society continues to serve over 6,000 South Floridians living with MS and devotes resources to local and national research. Participants braved wind, heat and rain while showing their dedication for a worthwhile cause. The economic downturn has affected everyone nationwide and your assistance more than ever is needed to help those who may not be able to provide for themselves. As we work towards our goal of $1.8 million, we encourage you all to share your experience with a friend and invite them to participate in the MS Bike Ride on April 21 - 22, 2012. We hope you enjoyed the fun-filled rest stops, start/finish villages, beautiful scenery and most importantly the ride. You made a difference in helping others who need it the most.

“Partner in the Fight Against MS”

“The Partner in the fight against MS” is a special award given to sponsors that go the extra mile to guarantee a successful ride. The ride faces new challenges each year and our partners help us to overcome these obstacles. In 2011, four very special companies assisted us in our time of need. They provided us with route trucks that serviced rest-stops and transported luggage and bikes. The 2011 “Partner in the Fight Against MS” award recipients are:

We are so appreciative of their support and look forward to their continued participation in 2012! www.msbikeflorida.org

“Power Behind the Pedals” Volunteer Award

How does Florida’s largest cycling event successfully take place each year? The answer lies in the hearts and hands of our dedicated volunteers. In 2011, three key volunteers went above and beyond the call of duty to ensure our ride was safe, well organized and most of all fully supported. The 2011 “Power Behind the Pedal” award recipients are:

Delio Botero

Rody Biennevil

Racquel House

Delio Botero, UPS Coordinator and long time rider, joined the committee and made an immediate impact during his first year. He secured route trucks and provided new and improved event storage and loading facility. Rody Biennevil, the man that never says no is always on the go! Rody continues to play a vital role in the success of the Village at John Pennekamp Park. His work ethic and eagerness “to get the job done” is second to none. Racquel House took the role of SAG Coordinator to the next level. Her organization and attention to detail was extremely apparent as she made an area of the ride even better. We congratulate these Power Behind the Pedal recipients and all volunteers for their dedication and support to our cause!
