North West Regional Science Park- Derry~Londonderry The North West Regional Science Park, Fort George, is a unique collaborative cross-border project to develop a third generation science park as a catalyst to drive the growth of the Knowledge Economy in the NW of Ireland. Based on the successful Northern Ireland Science Park (NISP), not for profit model in Belfast, large corporates will have ‘soft landing’ opportunities and start-ups will benefit from mentoring programmes and co-location at Fort George, Derry~ Londonderry and at Letterkenny Institute of Technology (LYIT). This project has received funding from the European Union’s INTERREG IVa programme and is managed by the Special European Union Programmes Body (SEUPB). The Department for Social Development are further funders and site owners The North West Regional Science Park, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Northern Ireland Science Park. • Encourages and supports the start-up, incubation and acceleration of innovation led, high growth, knowledge based businesses. • Provides an environment where they and larger international businesses can thrive and develop specific and close interactions with the NI knowledge base. Agility and connectivity have been the guiding principles of the Science Park to support the knowledge-based business community in Northern Ireland. Accommodation solutions ranging from one desk on a month’s notice, small enclosed units and traditional lease of space from 250 sq ft to 4000 sq ft on flexible terms, all with superb connectivity are available.

We aim to enable occupiers to keep their dedicated space requirements to a minimum but ensure quality facilities are available for that important meeting. Our communications network ensures easy home or remote working. We tailor our offering into a bespoke workspace and support solution to suit YOUR needs. Now in the top 5 of UK science parks, NISP is an exemplar of what is sometimes called the triple helix, an intimate partnership between government, academe and the private sector. In Belfast, it comprises six buildings over 25 acres (210,000 sq ft), housing 119 companies in a busy 1,900-strong commercial knowledge community, which offers agile super-connected workspace* for growth, helping to turn research into invention and invention into innovation. Through NISP CONNECT, its leadership, education and mentoring platform, which is highly leveraged by the private sector, the North West Regional Science Park will expand its influence to create better conditions for more high potential start-ups in the North West by improving the innovation culture and talent and increasing risk capital. LYIT brings its excellent incubator team and track record and linkages to industry specifically in computer security, renewable energy and seafood development. It is associated with National University of Ireland (NUI) Galway and is integrated within the North West Medical Academy and projects such as WiSAR (an Applied Research Enhancement - ARE - Centre of Wireless Sensor Networks) and CAMBIO (an ARE Centre for Applied Marine Biotechnology). NISP also brings its Invest NI and InterTradeIreland sponsored programmes, Halo, the NI Business Angel Network and Digital NI 2020, a project, whose goal is to exploit proactively the potential of Northern Ireland’s digital platform, to maximise economic growth, improve quality of life and assist social regeneration.
