On time When the journalist Lucio Oliveira selected some of new models of watches for men, that are available on the market, he discovered that it was thanks the famous Brazilian pilot, Santos Dumont, that they are now worn on the wrist. Originally, watches were kept in men’s pockets, but this made things difficult for Dumont, who needed to have his hands free to pilot his inventions, so he complained to his friend Louis Cartier. The Frenchman soon created a prototype of watches with wristbands, which today are worn throughout the world. We have given the publication a general uplift, to better meet the demands and expectations of our clients and now readers. With each edition, we will tell you a little of the Company’s history, a path that seeks a delicate harmony between technique and emotion: at the same time that we guarantee our clients the best in terms of maintenance and care with the aircraft, we also provide a warm and friendly environment, qualities we consider fundamental in a service company.

This is a time of consolidation for Global Aviation. In April we inaugurated the hanger in Campo de Marte, an area that provides comfort for users and ease of operations. We have started the construction work for our hanger in Sorocaba, an initiative that we took based on the perception that the maintenance sector has great potential for growth. The airport in Sorocaba concentrates large maintenance companies, and has the potential to expand, including from international flights. The base in Salvador is another initiative consistent with the Company’s strategic planning: we want to grow in the Northeast and our hanger will be a significant differential, because we will be the only company with the capacity to receive large aircraft from the executive aviation segment and our hanger will be ready to receive these new aircraft. At the same time, we are renovating our two bases at Santos Dumont airport in Rio de Janeiro. Global Aviation is at the expansion and consolidation stage, but our main characteristic will always be preserved: our clients and partners can be assured that they will find, with each new flight, the same friendly service and care with all of the details that involve our operation. have a good flight!

O Celler de Can Roca, que começou em 1920 quando os avós dos três inauguraram uma pousada em Girona, na Catalunha, este ano pulou para o segundo lugar na lista dos 50 Melhores Restaurantes da revista inglesa Restaurant, o mais importante ranking do setor. E como a família não para, acaba de inaugurar a sorveteria Rocambolesc, que vale uma visita, até mesmo se você não for fã de sorvetes. Jordi, o irmão mais novo e responsável pelos doces do Celler, criou gelados que lembram esculturas, 100% naturais e que resgatam receitas como as maçãs ao forno da mãe do chef. Jordi, the youngest brother, is responsible for the sweets from the celler, and has recreated ice creams that remind you of sculptures, 100% natural and which have recovered recipes such as baked apples from his mother’s oven. the design of the ice cream parlor, located in the charming historic center of gerona, is another attraction: it has an old style ice-cream cart, and a fun and happy environment, that reminds you of an amusement park. the decorator Sandra tarruella is responsible for the design and also for cellar, which was a prize winner in an important Spanish competition.

Restaurado para relembrar seu esplendor original, mas com roupagem íntima contemporânea, tem quartos e suítes de decoração primorosa e panoramas que chegam ao Rio Sena e à Torre Eiffel. Sua mescla do savoir-vivre francês com a hospitalidade e rigoroso serviço do grupo asiático se torna particularmente destacada em seus restaurantes. A BMW deu um grande passo em direção ao futuro, pelo menos no que diz respeito ao futuro dos carros elétricos. A montadora alemã inaugurou, no dia 13 de junho, sua primeira loja destinada apenas a esse tipo de veículo. Batizada de BMW i Park Lane, e localizada em Londres, é um showroom da divisão BMW i. Porém, por enquanto, nenhum automóvel será vendido por lá, já que os produtos da marca i ainda não estão concluídos. Até o ano que vem, a loja será apenas um local para os clientes conhecerem um pouco mais sobre a mobilidade dos modelos alternativos. “A BMW i Park Lane dá às pessoas uma oportunidade perfeita para aprender mais sobre mobilidade elétrica e chegar perto dos veículos híbridos BMW i. Esta é mais uma demonstração do nosso compromisso com as novas tendências”, comentou Ian Robertson, membro do conselho administrativo do Grupo BMW, durante a inauguração. O grupo, aliás, tem uma atuação destacada em sustentabilidade: é líder há sete anos do Dow Jones Sustainability Index.

Segundo a fabricante, o primeiro modelo elétrico da marca a chegar ao mercado, no final de 2013, será o compacto 100% elétrico i3, que acabou de receber novo interior feito de materiais naturais sustentáveis. Baptized BmW i park lane, and located in london, is the showroom for the BmW i division. However, for the time being, no vehicles will be sold from there, since the products with the i brand have not yet been concluded. until next year, the shop will only be a place for clients to get to know a little more about the mobility of alternative models. “BmW i park lane provides individuals with the perfect opportunity to learn more about electric mobility and get close to the BmW i hybrid vehicles. it is another way to demonstrate our commitment to new trends”, commented ian robertson, a member of the management board from the BmW group, during the inauguration. the group in fact stands out for its sustainable actions: is has been the leader for seven years in the dow Jones Sustainability index. according to the manufacturer, the first electric model for the brand to arrive on the market, at the end of 2013, will be the compact 100% electric i3, which has recently received a new interior design made from natural sustainable materials. in the following year, it will be the turn of the coupe Sport i8, which will have an electric engine and another low diesel consumption turbo. as to the choice of london as the head office for the first BmW i park lane, the german brand explained that the city is innovative and also suffers from traffic problems.

ns creditam sua invenção aos egípcios. Outros, aos babilônios. Seja lá quem for o responsável por sua criação, o relógio sempre acompanhou a história da humanidade.

Antes movido a luz solar, água ou areia, o objeto evoluiu, ganhou mecanismos e por volta de 1504, quando o alemão Peter Henlein criou o primeiro relógio de bolso na cidade de Nuremberg, virou símbolo de status e da alta aristocracia, já que eram raros e tidos como verdadeiras joias.

Séculos depois, a engenhoca saiu dos bolsos e foi parar nos pulsos femininos. Em 1904, quando o cronometrava suas experiências aéreas com um relógio de bolso, Santos Dumont pediu ao amigo Louis Cartier que lhe criasse um similar que pudesse ser preso ao punho. Foi então que o joalheiro francês presenteou o pai da aviação com um relógio fixado a uma pulseira de couro, batizado de Santos. A partir daí, o objeto deixou de ser exclusivo das mulheres, se popularizou entre os homens.

Apresentando design mais moderno e contemporâneo que a Pershing 72’, a nova 74’ é a última criação do designer Fulvio de Simoni, em colaboração com o Ayt (Advanced yacht technology) do Ferrettigroup e o time de arquitetos e designers do Centro de Estilo Ferrettigroup. Com 22,66 metros de comprimento e 5,50 metros de largura, o iate conta com dois motores MtU Common Rail de 1950 cavalos, com propulsão Searex e hélices de alta performance em superfície, atingindo velocidade máxima de 44 nós. ássio Vasconcellos tem 46 anos, começou a fotografar aos 15, tirou brevê de piloto e já voou mais de 700 horas registrando de cima o que a maioria de nós só vê na altura do olhar. De preferência, num ângulo de 90 graus. Atualmente, o fotógrafo, que participou de 150 exposições em 20 países e tem sua obra no acervo de alguns dos mais importantes museus do mundo, está terminando um projeto com números ainda mais impressionantes. Montou um aeroporto de mentira a partir de mais de mil fotos e 30 mil fragmentos de imagens registradas em aeroportos de verdade e até em um desmanche de aviões no deserto do Arizona, nos Estados Unidos. Em mais de 700 horas recortando e colando os pedacinhos desse quebra-cabeça, ele criou uma nova arquitetura que inclui detalhes como os controladores de voo e pessoas caminhando pela pista — que, aliás, é feita a partir de um piso de verdade. A foto será impressa em 2 metros de altura por 5 de largura, e quem se aproximar poderá ver os homenzinhos e até as placas que identificam os aviões. Ele monta essa grande imagem a partir de várias outras fotos, o que dá uma definição melhor do que se fotografasse a paisagem em apenas um clique. “É o trabalho mais complexo que já fiz. Eu acho até que quase ninguém no mundo fez uma imagem tão complexa de ser construída”, diz Cássio. E essa não é a primeira que ele faz.

Em 2008, expôs no Museu da Imagem e do Som (MIS) a foto Automóveis, em que juntou 50 mil carros, 1% da frota paulistana da época, que era de 5 milhões. Tudo começou

quando Cássio fotografou um pátio com carros novos enfileirados enquanto sobrevoava o Porto de Santos. “Eu pensei: se existisse um pátio para 100 mil carros, como seria?”, conta. A foto, feita exatamente de cima, ficou bem geométrica, e a partir daí ele começou a procurar outros estacionamentos para ter diversidade, não ficar só com carros novos. “Com pequenos detalhes posso contar uma grande história, ou uma grande mentira”, brinca Cássio. O resultado é que durante a exposição as pessoas paravam e ficavam um longo tempo vendo a foto, reconhecendo pessoas, objetos em cima de caminhões, marcas de carros... A imagem, de 12 metros de largura por 2,20 de altura, foi dividida em partes e vendida. Uma está no Sesc Bom Retiro, em mostra permanente, e também é longamente apreciada, especialmente pelas crianças.

“De longe, tem textura. De perto, tem as histórias”, diz Cássio.

E são as histórias que fazem as pessoas pararem. “Hoje em dia ninguém fica muito tempo vendo ou fazendo algo, tudo é muito rápido. Nesse trabalho, elas ficam vários minutos, começam a garimpar, ele gera uma curiosidade e uma experiência visual diferente.” Ou seja, além de mostrar a profusão de carros parados, de certa forma uma metáfora do que São Paulo está vivendo hoje, a obra também propõe uma experiência e uma nova estética. A imagem deu tão certo que virou a coleção Aéreas, publicada no livro de mesmo nome lançado pela editora Terra Virgem como parte da série Fotógrafos Viajantes.

Cássio acha que a foto autoral vive um boom hoje. Tanto que ele é sempre convidado para exposições aqui e no exterior. Em breve, no mês de agosto, estará no Museu Tomie Ohtake, onde em 2013 pretende fazer uma grande exposição com uma retrospectiva de sua obra.

Atualmente está em cartaz em Barcelona, na Fundação Casa América-Catalunya, com Terra Prometida, uma coletiva com fotógrafos brasileiros. E acabou de lançar um livro, chamado Panorâmicas, pela DBA. Cássio começou a expor suas fotos autorais quando era repórter fotográfico num grande jornal, e nunca mais parou.

Cássio Vasconcellos has been passionate about helicopters since a child, and registers landscapes, edits and puts them back together in large images

C

ássio Vasconcellos is 46 years old, and started to take photographs when he was 15, he obtained his pilot’s license and has clocked up more than 700 flying hours, registering from above what the majority of us seen from eye level, preferable at an angle of 90 degrees. Currently, the photographer, who has participated in more than 150 exhibitions in 20 countries, with his works exhibited in some of the most important museums worldwide, is concluding a project involving even more impressive numbers. He has created a false airport based on more than one thousand photos and 30 thousand fragments of images taken at real airports and even images of the dismantling of airplanes in the Arizona desert, USA. During more than 700 hours cutting and pasting the small pieces to this jigsaw, he has created a new architecture that includes details such as flight controllers and people walking along the runway – which, in fact, is made on a real floor. The photograph will be printed and will measure two meters high and five meters wide, and when you get close you can see the little men and even the number plates to identify the planes, thanks to the fact that he creates these large images based on several other photographs, which provide a better definition than if the image had been taken in just one click.

“It is the most complex work that I have done.

I can’t think of anyone in the world who has created an image so complex”, says Cássio. And this is not the first one he has done. In 2008, he had an exhibition in the Museu da Imagem e do Som (MIS) of automobile photos, where he put together 50 thousand cars, 1% of the São Paulo fleet, at the time, which was 5 million.

All this began when Cássio photographed a patio of new cars all lined up, whilst he flew over Porto de Santos. “I thought: if a patio for 100 thousand cars existed, what would it look like?”, he says. A photo, taken from above, was completely geometrical, and after that he started to look for more car parks to obtain diversity, and not just new cars. “With small details I can tell a big story, or a big lie”, jokes Cássio. The result is that during the exhibition people stopped and looked at the photo for a long time, recognizing people, objects on top of the trucks, car brands... The image, measuring 12 meters wide and 2.20 high, was divided into parts and sold. One of these parts is at Sesc Bom Retiro, in a permanent exhibition, and has long been appreciated by children.

“From afar, it has texture. Close up, it tells stories”, says Cássio. And it is the stories that make people stop. “Today, nobody spends much time looking or doing something, everything is very quick. They spend several minutes looking at this work, they start searching, it provokes curiosity and a different visual experience.” In other words, besides showing a profusion of parked cars, in a certain way, it is a metaphor for what São Paulo is living today, the work also proposes a new experience and esthetics. The image has been so successful that it became the Airlines collection, published in the book of the same name launched by the editors Terra Virgem as part of the Travelling photographers series Cássio thinks that authors’ photos are experiencing a boom today.

This is evident in the fact that he is always being invited to exhibitions here and overseas. In summary, in August, he will be at Tomie Ohtake Museum, where, in 2013, he intends to hold a large exhibition with a retrospective of his work. At the moment his work is exhibited in Barcelona, at Fundação Casa América-Catalunya, with the Promised Land, a collection of Brazilian photographers. And he has just launched a book, called Panoramic, by DBA. Cássio began to exhibit his own photos when he was a photographic reporter for a large newspaper, and has not stopped since. natureza sempre determina se é possível fazer um bom vinho. Não há enólogo, por mais brilhante que seja, que salve uma safra ruim. E ela é severa: em uma década, apenas em dois ou três anos as condições perfeitas costumam dar o ar da graça e permitem o tempo certo nas estações que antecedem a colheita. Na mais célebre região produtora do mundo não é diferente.

Neste começo de século XXI apenas as safras de 2005, 2009 e 2010 de Bordeaux receberam bênçãos da senhora dos raios, chuva, sol e seca.

O capricho foi particularmente dedicado a 2009, talvez para compensar as três medianas safras anteriores. Não só é o melhor millésime do início do século, mas dos últimos 50 anos, segundo os críticos e os felicíssimos donos dos grandes châteaux da região, que aproveitaram para jogar os preços nas nuvens.

Para entender como isso foi possível, os meses de julho e agosto de 2009 (verão na Europa) foram bem ensolarados e quentes, permitindo uma perfeita maturação das uvas, com aromas concentrados e boa acumulação de pigmentos nas cascas, responsáveis principais pela longevidade do vinho, por meio dos taninos. E em setembro, mês da colheita, não choveu, com alternância de noites frescas e dias quentes.

Tudo primoroso.

“Uma safra como essa só acontece umas sete ou oito vezes em um século”, declarou o negociante de vinhos e degustador local JeanChristophe Estève, de olho nas preciosidades que só agora, depois de dois anos descansando nas barricas de carvalho e mais alguns meses de afinamento nas garrafas, chegam ao mercado. Principalmente aquelas agraciadas com a nota máxima, 100 pontos, pelo crítico norteamericano Robert Parker, ainda muito respeitado quando se trata da avaliação dos vinhos de Bordeaux.

Estes são os châteaux que, segundo Parker, fizeram um vinho perfeito em 2009: Beauséjour, Bellevue Mondotte, Clinet, Clos Fourtet, Cos d’Estournel, Ducru Beaucaillou, L’Evangile, Haut-Brion, Latour, Léoville Poyferré, La Mission Haut-Brion, La Mondotte, Montrose, Pavie, Pétrus, Le Pin, Pontet-Canet, Pape Clément Blanc e Smith-Haut-Lafitte. São vinhos que começam em 300 euros, mas que chegam facilmente a cerca de 2.000 euros a garrafa.

A safra de 2010 também foi excelente, na avaliação geral, não superior à do ano anterior, mas melhor do que a de 2005. Esses três millésimes já se inscreveram, até agora, como ícones deste século na famosa região.

ature always determines whether it is possible to make a good wine. There is no enologist, however good he or she might be, that can rescue a bad harvest. and nature is severe:, only in two or three years during a decade are there the perfect conditions that normally provide an air of grace and the right weather in the seasons that precede the harvest. In the most celebrated wine producing region in the world it is no different. during the start of the xxI century, only the harvests from 2005, 2009 and 2010 in Bordeaux , received blessings from the goddess of lightening, rain and sunshine.

The whim was dedicated particularly to 2009, perhaps to compensate for the previous three average harvests. It is not only the best vintage from the beginning of the century, but from the previous 50 years, according to critics and the happy owners of the large châteaux in the region, who seized the opportunity to push prices sky high.

To understand how this was possible, July and august 2009 (summer in europe) were sunny and hot, which provided perfect conditions for the grapes to mature, ensuring concentrated aromas and a good accumulation of pigment in the skins, responsible for the longevity of the wine, through the tannins. and in september, the month for harvesting, it didn’t rain, but alternated between fresh evenings and warm days. absolutely perfect. “a harvest like this only happens seven or eight times in a century”, declared the wine Merchant and local taster Jean-christophe estève, looking at the treasure that only now, after two years resting in oak barrels and a few more months refining in bottles, has arrived on the market.

Mainly those honored with the highest grade, 100 points, by the north american critic robert Parker, who is still highly respected when it comes to assessing Bordeaux wines.

Carona no aviãozinho História infantil escrita nos anos 1930 por Erico Verissimo chega ao cinema

O escritor Erico Verissimo, que nasceu no começo do século passado e viveu até 1975 no Rio Grande do Sul, criou personagens fortes e secos como Ana Terra e Rodrigo Cambará em seu clássico O tempo e o vento, história que inspirou uma das minisséries mais célebres já realizadas pela Globo. O que muitos não sabem é que o escritor também publicou várias obras infantojuvenis, especialmente nos anos 1930. As aventuras do avião vermelho, editada em 1936, chegará às telas de cinema no primeiro semestre de 2013. A produção gaúcha já foi comercializada numa feira de cinema em Cannes, na França, onde fez sucesso entre os compradores de vários países. A equipe inclui os diretores Frederico Pinto e José Maia, o cartunista Moa (Moacir Gutteres) como diretor de arte e um time de famosos encabeçado por Lázaro Ramos na interpretação das vozes dos personagens.

A expectativa é grande. “Durante a realização do filme, estudantes que estavam lendo o livro foram visitar o nosso estúdio de animação. Foi muito bacana ver que aquela história escrita em 1936 ainda encantava aquelas crianças. A descoberta da leitura e o poder da imaginação ainda fazem parte da vida deles”, conta Frederico Pinto. É fácil deduzir por quê. O livro (e o filme) conta a história de um menino de 8 anos mimado e travesso que acaba de perder a mãe e passa a infernizar a vida da empregada, Josefina. Seu pai tenta melhorar a situação comprando presentes, e um deles conquista Fernandinho.

Trata-se de As Aventuras do Capitão Tormenta, a história de um aviador que viaja pelo mundo e acaba preso em Kamchatka.

Empolgado com a história, o garoto decide salvar seu herói.

Para isso, precisa ganhar do pai um aviãozinho vermelho de brinquedo. Fernandinho usa lentes mágicas para encolher e caber no brinquedo e leva junto dois ajudantes: Ursinho, um comilão que vive se metendo em confusão, e Chocolate, um boneco ajuizado que dá bons conselhos ao menino.

“Nosso principal desafio foi atualizar essa história sem perder a sua essência”, diz Frederico Pinto. Para ele, mais do que efeitos e montagens vertiginosas, o que conquista as crianças são personagens bem desenvolvidos e carismáticos.

“Trabalhamos no roteiro para dar uma personalidade distinta a cada um deles, mas foi a partir do trabalho dos atores e dos animadores que os personagens se solidificaram”, explica. Para Moa, diretor de arte, o maior desafio foi definir o estilo da animação, que acabou ganhando um jeitão meio vintage. “Trata-se de uma obra feita à moda antiga, com animadores debruçados nas mesas de luz, desenhando em papel e utilizando recursos tecnológicos de última geração (ou penúltima geração?!), mas também à moda antiga. O Marquinhos, Marco Lesina Pilar, por exemplo, um cara que é uma referência artística e faz o trabalho de colorizar os cenários e objetos do filme, usa ferramentas como o Photoshop como se fosse um aquarelista dando pinceladas numa folha papel”, diz Moa. As aventuras do avião vermelho promete ser um bom programa para os pais que gostam de uma aventura aérea levarem seus filhos. Dizer que imaginação não tem idade pode até ser um clichê, mas não deixa de ser verdade.

CatChing a lift in the little airplane A children’s story written in the 1930s by Erico Verissimo, has reached the cinema The writer Erico verissimo, who was born at the beginning of the last century and lived in the state of rio Grande do Sul until 1975, created rather dry and strong characters such as ana Terra and rodrigo Cambará in his classic Time and Wind, a story that inspired one of the most popular miniseries made by the Tv company Globo.

What a lot of people don’t know is that the writer also published several books for children and teenagers, mainly in the 1930s. The adventures of the red airplane, published in 1936, will reach the cinema screens during the first semester of 2013. The production from the South of Brazil, was sold at a Cinema Festival, in Cannes, France, where it was a success amongst buyers from several countries. The team includes the directors Frederico Pinto and José Maia, the cartoonist Moa (Moacir Gutteres) as art director and a team of famous artists headed by Lázaro ramos, to interpret the characters’ voices.

Expectations are high. “Whilst making the film, students who were reading the book visited our cartoon study. it was great to see that this story written in 1936 still enthralled children. Discovering reading and the power of the imagination is still part of their lives”, says Frederico Pinto. it is easy to understand why. The book (and the film) tells the story of a boy aged eight, who is spoilt and naughty, who has recently lost his mother, and starts to torment the housemaid, Josefina. his father tries to make things better by buying presents, and one of these wins over little Fernando. it is the adventures of Capitan Storm, the story of a pilot who travels around the world and ends up a prisoner in Kamchatka. Excited and involved in the story, the young boy decides to save his hero. To do this, he needs to receive a little red toy plane from his dad. Fernando uses magic lenses to shrink and fit into the toy and takes two helpers with him: Little bear, who doesn’t stop eating, and continually gets into trouble, and Chocolate, a wise doll who gives the boy sound advice. “our biggest challenge was to update the story without losing its essence”, said Frederico Pinto. For him, what convinces children, are not the amazing side effects and scenarios, but charismatic and convincing characters. “We worked on the script to give each of the characters very distinct personalities, but it was through the work of the actors and animators that the characters developed”, he explains. For Moa, the art director, the biggest challenge was to define the style of the cartoon, which ended up with a slightly vintage style.

“The film was made in the old fashioned style, with cartoonists leaning over light tables, drawing on paper and using the latest generation technology (or the penultimate generation?!), but also in the old fashioned way”. Marquinhos (Marco Lesina Pilar) for example, a guy who is an artistic reference and is responsible for coloring the scenarios and objects of the film, uses tools such as photoshop as if he were a watercolor painter giving paint strokes to paper”, said Moa. The adventures of the red airplane promises to be a good program for parents, who enjoy an airplane adventure, to invite their children. it might be a bit of a cliché to say imagination doesn’t depend on age, but it continues to ring true.

aLéM Da iMaGinação Quem visitar a Alemanha até o dia 16 de setembro tem programa garantido, mas só se gostar de arte e estiver aberto a provocações e inovações. A 13ª Documenta, feira de arte contemporânea que está entre as maiores do mundo, já levou até o ator Brad Pitt à pequena cidade de Kassel, que ferve a cada cinco anos com o evento. Mais de 200 artistas de 50 países foram selecionados pela curadora Carolyn Christov-Bakargiev, uma feminista moderna interessada em defender a natureza e o patrimônio cultural. E tem de tudo. Uma das diversões dos jornalistas alemães tem sido relatar os curiosos eventos paralelos, em que artistas plantam árvores ou veterinários comandam passeios guiados para cachorros. Os cães são convidados a observar e farejar obras e instalações, especialmente as do parque Karlsaue, e viraram visitantes especiais porque a curadora queria investigar o tipo de relação que os animais podem ter com a arte. Talvez o fato de ela ser a dona de uma cadela maltês explique alguma coisa...

Mas o fato é que a mostra, esquisitices à parte, é um interessante passeio pelo que os artistas andam fazendo pelo mundo.

O italiano Giuseppe Penone, que recentemente inaugurou uma obra do Museu de Inhotim, em Minas, apresenta a peça Ideas of Stone, em área externa, mostrando a interação entre arte e natureza. O húngaro Istvan Csakany apresenta Ghost Keeping, uma instalação intrigante montada no Hauptbahnhof. Aliás, além desse edifício e do parque, o evento ocupa vários museus e espaços da cidade, tendo como centro o Fridericianum, museu onde a primeira edição da Documenta foi realizada, em 1955, sob o comando do artista Arnold Bode. O site traz um mapa detalhado de todas as atrações, mas quem quiser aproveitar bem o tempo pode concentrar-se no Fridericianum e no parque, reservando um tempo para flanar pelas ruas da charmosa cidade e degustar pratos deliciosos e calóricos da gastronomia alemã num dos bares com mesas nas calçadas, sempre cheios de turistas interessantes. d13.documenta.de

Beyond the ImagInatIon Whoever visits Germany before September 16, has a program guaranteed, but only if they enjoy art and are open to provocations and innovations. The 13th Documenta, a contemporary art fair that is amongst the largest in the world, has even attracted Brad Pitt to the small town of Kassel, which vibrates every five years with the event. More than 200 artists from 50 countries were selected by the curator Carolyn Christov-Bakargiev, a modern feminist interested in defending nature and cultural heritage. And there is something for everyone.

oje em dia, para causar uma boa impressão, não basta estar bem vestido. Cuidados com a pele, cabelo e corpo passaram a ser fundamentais entre o público masculino. É por isso que muitos homens perderam o constrangimento e viraram habitués das clínicas dermatológicas. Segundo dados da Sociedade Brasileira de Dermatologia, eles já representam 18% dos pacientes nessa área.

Em algumas clínicas esse percentual costuma ser maior ainda. “Há dez anos eles tinham vergonha de procurar um dermatologista. Cinco anos atrás, eles já eram quase 20% dos meus clientes e, agora, 40%”, garante Adriana Vilarinho, dermatologista responsável pela beleza de celebridades como Gisele Bündchen, Isabeli Fontana e Adriane Galisteu.

Em sua clínica no bairro dos Jardins, em São Paulo, Adriana é procurada por homens que, além de interessados em melhorar a qualidade da pele, querem atenuar as rugas. “Nesses casos, costumo indicar a aplicação de toxina botulínica e de substâncias de preenchimento”, diz. Tratamentos de gordura localizada, acne, cicatrizes e até laser para combater pelos também figuram entre os procedimentos mais procurados por seus pacientes.

Segundo ela, esse crescimento está relacionado à mudança de comportamento masculina. “Hoje em dia, os homens se preocupam com a beleza de uma forma geral. Cuidam mais da alimentação, do corpo e, por consequência, da pele. Além disso, a exigência de uma boa aparência e de uma pela saudável e bem cuidada passou a ser bem -vista no mercado de trabalho, principalmente entre os executivos.”

A curA dA cAlvície Já no Hospital Samaritano, no bairro do Pacaembu, em São Paulo, os homens costumam procurar auxílio médico para casos mais corriqueiros. “A maioria de nossos atendimentos é por conta de calvície”, garante o dermatologista Agnaldo Mirandez. A calvície de padrão masculino, ou alopecia androgenética, é o tipo mais comum de queda de cabelos em homens, atingindo aproximadamente 50% dos adultos. “A queda dos cabelos é determinada pelos hormônios masculinos e pela hereditariedade. Mas outras causas de alopecia podem ser o estresse de uma doença ou cirurgia de grande porte, tratamentos medicamentosos, tais como quimioterapia, doses excessivas de vitamina A e antidepressivos, e doenças como diabetes.”

De acordo com o especialista, a calvície é um problema fácil de ser tratado, desde que diagnosticado cedo. Hoje em dia, o tratamento pode ser feito com quatro tipos de medicamentos: a finasterida, o minoxidil, o 17-alpha-estradiol e a tretinoína.

A finasterida melhora a aparência a partir do sexto mês de uso. Deve ser tomada uma vez ao dia e apresenta poucos efeitos colaterais. Os mais comuns são a diminuição da vontade sexual e o volume da ejaculação, mas a incidência desses problemas é baixíssima. O 17-alpha-estradiol é uma loção que pode ser aplicada diretamente no couro cabeludo e apresenta efeitos em cinco ou seis meses de tratamento. O minoxidil é um vasodilatador que facilita o crescimento do cabelo, sem causa conhecida. A tretinoína estimula o crescimento e o desenvolvimento de células da pele e aumenta a eficácia dos outros medicamentos. “Em casos mais graves, os medicamentos podem ser aplicados por médicos diretamente no couro cabeludo. Em último caso, a recomendação é realizar cirurgias para o microimplante de fios”, conclui.

Mirandez também aponta outro problema comum entre os homens: irritações de pele por causa da barba. A necessidade de barbear-se diariamente acrescenta mais algumas necessidades à lista de cuidados masculinos. “A utilização de um produto pós-barba com efeito calmante, hidratante e até cicatrizante ajuda a evitar a foliculite, que é a inflamação dos pelos.” umA questão de sAúde Um dos cuidados recomendados por todos os dermatologista é o uso diário de protetor solar, o mais eficiente tratamento preventivo para o câncer de pele, Uma medida que também provoca um efeito colateral muito bem-vindo: deixa a aparência da pele mais jovem e saudável. De acordo com as estimativas do Instituto Nacional do Câncer (Inca), dos 6.230 casos de melanoma esperados para o ano de 2012, mais de 3.100 deverão acometer homens.

Segundo Renato Esper Saliba, dermatologista do Hospital Beneficência Portuguesa de São Paulo, e membro da Sociedade Brasileira de Dermatologia (SBD), além da falta de cuidado, outros fatores fazem com que o melanoma seja frequente no sexo masculino.

“A doença pode ser desenvolvida com mais facilidade em adultos jovens que tenham pele e olhos claros e bastante sardas, assim como em pessoas que possuem histórico na família.”

Como esse tipo de câncer de pele pode ser desencadeado pelo efeito dos raios solares, a melhor forma de proteção é evitar o sol e usar bloqueador várias vezes ao dia, mesmo quando exposto apenas à luz artificial. De acordo com um levantamento feito pelo Ministério da Saúde com mais de 50 mil pessoas, apenas 37% dos homens entrevistados costumam proteger a pele dos raios ultravioletas, que são considerados altamente nocivos à saúde.

“A correta prevenção é uma arma importante e fácil de ser colocada em prática, pois impede que as células de nossa pele sejam queimadas“, explica Saliba. Além disso, é preciso ficar de olho a qualquer sinal da doença, como pintas que coçam ou que sangram com frequência e lesões que não cicatrizam, para evitar que a doença seja descoberta já na forma metastática (quando o tumor

Mirandez also identified another problem that is common amongst men: skin irritations because of shaving. The need to shave daily adds more requirements to the list of masculine care. “The use of an after shaving product with a soothing effect, moisturizing and even healing effect helps to avoid folliculitus, which is inflammation of the hair follicles.”

Arte de vAnguArdA A bordo de vespAs Também no segundo sábado do mês, o Wynwood Art District, ao sul do Design District, mantém as galerias abertas e oferece drinques das 19h às 22h. Essa região é conhecida como a meca dos talentos promissores de Miami e atrai um público eclético em busca de arte alternativa e de vanguarda. Há coleções privadas que merecem ser visitadas, como a Rubell Family Collection, que funciona em um antigo armazém recuperado, com peças de artistas contemporâneos como Jeff Koons e Takashi Murakami. Também são interessantes as mostras de fotografia da Margulies Collection at the Warehouse, clicadas entre 1900 e os dias de hoje, além de instalações e vídeos.

Outra forma interessante de explorar a arte nessa região é alugar uma Vespa e, tendo artistas locais como guias, percorrer as ruas do bairro. São quatro ou cinco paradas estratégicas pelo caminho para observar um verdadeiro museu a céu aberto, formado por muros grafitados. O passeio dura duas horas e termina com almoço em um dos restaurantes de Wynwood.

ComprAs e tApAs A Lincoln Road é frequentemente comparada com a Rodeo Drive, em Los Angeles, o que já deixa claro que não faltam grifes nesta rua de pedestres, como a italiana Diesel, com seus jeans de apelo global, a britânica AllSaints, com peças de streetwear à venda em uma loja belíssima, e a Anthropologie, com seções dedicadas a moda, acessórios e decoração. olors, accents, beaches, rhythms. Miami continues to be dynamic, multicultural and involving, but has assumed a new identity during the last decade, when it became a true showcase for art and design, attracting attention for its museums, galleries and architecture. Suddenly, the city acquired new nuances that provide evidence of luxury, with the installation of concept hotels and the proliferation of restaurants headed by top chefs and restaurateurs.

Immersion in the cultural effervescence of the city can start with a stroll through the Miami Design District, a few blocks from the Center. The neighborhood has attracted elegant and fashionable people looking not only for art and decoration, but also for fashion and gastronomy: besides the trendy galleries, bars and restaurants, here you can also find shops like Y-3 — from Adidas, signed by the Japanese designer Yohji Yamamoto — and Christian Louboutin, with dream shoes whose registered mark is the red soles.

Certain blocks, particularly during the night, don’t appear so friendly, a legend from the time when this part of the city had been forgotten and devaluated. But don’t be put off – during the day, the local establishments have plenty of movement. O Delano, resultado da parceria entre o hoteleiro Ian Schrager e o designer Philippe Starck, é um deles. À beira-mar, combina a comodidade dos resorts com o charme dos hotéis butique e conta com um dos melhores clubes de praia da cidade, com direito a áreas para meditação e música clássica subaquática na piscina descoberta. Nos quartos, predomina a cor branca. O restaurante local, que já esteve sob o comando do chef francês Claude Troisgrois, velho conhecido dos brasileiros, acaba de ser repaginado e ganhou novo nome: Bianca. Another interesting way to explore art in this region is to hire a Vespa, and with a local artist as your guide, visit the streets in the neighborhood There are four or five strategic stops along the way in order to see a truly open air museum, formed from graffiti walls. The tour takes about two hours and finishes with lunch in one of the Wynwood restaurants. puRCHAsEs AnD tApAs Lincoln Road is often compared with Rodeo Drive, in Los Angeles, and so it obvious that there is no shortage of brand names in this pedestrian walk way, from the Italian brand Diesel, with its jeans and global appeal, to the British AllSaints, with its street wear articles for sale in a beautiful shop and Anthropologie, with sections dedicated to fashion, accessories and decoration. Another excellent book shop is close by: Taschen, with incredible, cosmopolitan titles — a lot on travel, photography, and gastronomy, as well as a catalogue with several other so-called hidden subjects, such as fetishism and erotic photograph. In the middle of the cultural agitation of the Miami Design District, Mrs. Martinez only opens for supper, in the climate of a modern bistro. m 2010, o piloto e comandante Ricardo Gobbetti comandava uma empresa com 40 aeronaves e 80 colaboradores.

Carismático, o atual presidente da holding Global Aviation ganhou fama entre os especialistas no mercado de aviação executiva, e muitos amigos entre os clientes. A excelência de seu trabalho chamou a atenção de dois grupos de investidores: a família Constantino, dona da Gol; e os sócios da Endurance, uma gestora de fundos de investimento em empresas (private equity). “Procuramos, dentro de setores ou segmentos, um nicho que nos interesse e empresas que tenham um embrião que possa ser desenvolvido. Para isso, é fundamental que a empresa tenha uma alma, um espírito de dono forte que a gente possa ajudar a crescer com solidez”, diz o advogado e empresário André A. De Vivo, sócio da Endurance Capital Partners e experiente gestor na estruturação de fusões e aquisições.

Como De Vivo e outro de seus sócios, Richard Lark, mantinham há muito tempo relação profissional com o clã Constantino, foram convidados para participar do desenho e estruturação da operação resultante da junção da companhia de táxi aéreo da família Constantino às empresas de Gobbetti. “Nossa missão, enquanto Endurance, é transformar empresas médias em excelentes, ajudá-las a crescer. Como os donos da Gol sabiam que estávamos estudando oportunidades no segmento de aviação, nos chamaram para participar do processo. Assim surgiu a Global Aviation, uma holding que agrega essas empresas e tem como visão ser uma das cinco maiores do mundo em aviação executiva”, afirma De Vivo.

Depois de um período de estudos e negociações em que estreitaram as relações com Gobbetti e perceberam as afinidades que tinham com ele, a Endurance e a família Constantino entraram no negócio, fazendo aportes de capital e criando uma estrutura sólida para o desenvolvimento. “Iniciamos a operação no início de 2011”, conta De Vivo. Atualmente, a Companhia opera com nove bases, sete em pleno funcionamento e duas em fase final de abertura. Cresceu cerca de três vezes em relação ao que era, mas sempre com muito cuidado e planejamento. De Vivo apoia Gobbetti de perto: participa do Conselho de Administração e do Comitê Executivo, sendo que o último reúne-se pelo menos uma vez por semana. “Gostamos do setor e do negócio, então nos envolvemos muito. Participamos de todas as operações mais complexas, independentemente das reuniões”, diz. O Comitê executivo é formado por ele, Ricardo Constantino, Gobbetti e Fábio Gervino, diretor-geral da companhia; já o Conselho de Administração tem como integrantes os três primeiros mais Henrique Constantino e Richard Lark.

A Endurance detectou um grande potencial de expansão no setor. “O Brasil cresceu muito, é um país continental, as empresas desenvolveram-se enormemente, ocorreu uma geração de riqueza grande para o país nos últimos anos. E a aviação executiva está um degrau atrás”, diz. Ele afirma que a Global tem potencial para suprir grande parte dessa demanda, sempre ancorada sobre três pilares fundamentais. O primeiro é o planejamento estratégico; o segundo, as ferramentas de gestão, regras, disciplinas e metodologias; e o terceiro, o crescimento inorgânico, com a possível compra de empresas que possam agregar valor à Companhia.

Segundo o empresário, estudos internacionais apontam que mais de 90% dessas operações de compra de empresas não trazem valor. “É um crescimento que todos adoram fazer, mas só vale o esforço se as duas empresas passam a valer mais juntas do que separadas”, diz.

Por isso, afirma, a Global avalia as oportunidades com muita cautela.

Além de conquistar novos clientes e aeronaves, de abrir novas bases para atendimento, a Companhia tem planos de ampliar o portfólio de negócios, que atualmente é de cinco − fretamento, hangaragem, gerenciamento, compra e venda e propriedade compartilhada. O plano prevê mais três frentes de trabalho: manutenção; transporte aéreo offshore (serviços de transporte para plataformas de petróleo em alto-mar); e Fixed Base Operator (FBO). “Queremos prestar este serviço de acordo com o padrão internacional. O cliente que chega do exterior pode pedir que a empresa cuide de tudo relacionado à aeronave e à tripulação: passaportes, acomodação, transporte dos passageiros em terra...”, explica Gobbetti.

Todo esse crescimento não seria possível sem preparar as equipes para seguir a filosofia e a política da empresa. Os colaboradores são peça-chave em qualquer companhia, e muito mais em uma que presta serviços. Dois novos diretores juntaram-se ao time desde o início desta associação. O diretor-geral Fábio Gervino, que atuou por cinco anos na Gol, e o diretor comercial Mauro Miranda, que atua há mais de 15 anos no ramo de aviação executiva. A Global redefiniu sua visão e missão, alinhou e desdobrou suas metas e conta com um sistema de gerenciamento da rotina. “Adotamos ferramentas essenciais nesse processo de expansão”, diz De Vivo. Num encontro baseado na Técnica de Grupo Nominal (TGN), todos os funcionários reuniram-se para traçar metas e objetivos. Foram definidas 42 iniciativas que hoje estão sendo implementadas na Companhia. “Sabemos quem somos, e onde queremos chegar”, diz Gobbetti. “Mas sempre com a visão clara de que o cliente está em primeiro lugar, é o ponto central da estratégia”, completa De Vivo.

n 2010, the pilot and flight captain Ricardo Gobbetti was running a company with 40 airplanes and 80 employees. The charismatic chairman of the holding company Global Aviation, has become famous amongst specialists in the executive aviation market and has a lot of friends amongst his clients. The excellence of its services attracted the attention of two investor groups: the Constantino family, the owner of the airline Gol; and the partners of Endurance, a private equity investment fund. “We looked for a niche in the sectors or segments that interested us and companies that have an embryo that can be developed. Therefore, it is fundamental that the company has a soul, the spirit of a strong owner that we can help to develop its solid growth”, said the lawyer and businessman André A. De Vivo, the partner of Endurance Capital Partners and an experienced manager in structuring mergers and acquisitions.

Since De Vivo and one of his partners, Richard Lark, had had a professional relationship with the Constantino clan for some time, they were invited to participate in designing and structuring the operation, which resulted in the merger of the airline taxi company belonging to the Constantino family, with the Gobbetti companies. “Our mission, as Endurance, is to transform average companies into excellent companies, and help them to grow. The owners of Gol, knew that we were studying opportunities in the aviation segment, we invited them to participate in the process. As a result, Global Aviation was created, a holding company that aggregates these companies, and has a vision to be one of the five largest executive aviation companies in the world”, confirms De Vivo.

After a period of studies and negotiations, which strengthened the relations with Gobbetti and realizing they had a lot in common, Endurance and the Constantino family entered the business, making capital investments and creating a solid structure for development. “we started to operate at the beginning of 2011”, says De Vivo. Today, the Company operates with nine bases, seven fully operational and

two at the final stage, before opening. It has grow three times the size of what it was, but always through careful planning. De Vivo provides Gobbetti with support: he participates in the management board and the Executive Committee, with the latter meeting at least once a week. “We like the sector and the business, so we are really involved.

We participate in the more complex operations, independent of the meetings ”, he said. The executive committee comprises of him, Ricardo Constantino, Gobbetti and Fábio Gervino, the managing director of the company; whilst the management board includes the first three, as well as Henrique Constantino and Richard Lark.

Endurance identified significant potential for expansion of the sector.

“Brazil has grow a lot, it is a continental country, companies have developed enormously, and in recent years significant wealth has been created for the country. And executive aviation is a step behind”, he says. He confirms that Global has the potential to meet a significant part of this demand, whilst always anchored on three fundamental pillars.

The first is strategic planning; the second, management tools, rules, discipline and methodologies; and the third, inorganic growth, through possible purchases of companies that add value to the company.

According to the businessman, international studies have identified that more than 90% of the operations to acquire companies do not add value. “Everyone loves this type of growth, but it is only worth the effort if both companies are worth more together than individually”, he says. consequently, he confirms that Global assesses opportunities with caution. Besides winning new clients and airplanes, opening new service bases, the Company also has plans to enlarge its business portfolio, which today comprises five areas – freight, hanger garage, management, purchases and sales and shared property. The plan anticipates a further three work fronts: maintenance, offshore air transport (transport services for oil rigs at sea); and Fixed Base Operator (FBO). “we want to provide this service in accordance with international standards. Clients that arrive from abroad can ask the company to take care of everything related to the airplane and the crew: passports, accommodation, passenger land transport...”, explains Gobbetti.

This growth won´t be possible if we don’t prepare our teams to adopt the company’s philosophy and policies. Employees are a key element in any company, and even more so in a service company. Two new directors have joined the team since the start of this association. The managing director Fábio Gervino, who worked for five years at Gol, and the sales director Mauro Miranda, who worked for more than 15 years in the executive aviation sector. Global has redefined its vision and mission, aligned and deployed its goals and has a routine management system.
