NEW BELIEVERS, NEW BIBLES! Aimee Lindley | Assistant Project Manager

One of our goals is to feed spiritual hunger across the globe. Although things look a little different now due to the pandemic, the need for Bibles is still increasing. Here are three recent Bible updates from the field. Cambodia is a Buddhist nation with 14,394 villages. Less than 2% of the population identifies as Christian. One of our partners has the vision of a church in each of these villages by 2030. In June, we sent funds to purchase 200 Bibles in the Khmer language for church leaders to distribute (pictured above). Pray that all these Bibles reach their intended destinations. Vietnam is a socialist country where Christian activities are prohibited, especially in the rural highlands. In those areas, every person and every activity is under surveillance. Because of this, our partner hasn’t been able to travel there. However, he is working with the local church leaders to distribute Bibles to a select group of new believers. Pray that these 50 Bibles will have an eternal impact on those who receive them. Our partner in Sri Lanka will be holding a baptismal service on September 6 in the town of Dambulla. Ten new believers have registered to be baptized! We have sent funds to purchase Bibles for these 10, as well as for the growing church congregations at Moratuwa and Neboda. We pray that even more people will make the decision to come to faith and be baptized. Thank you for your prayers and donations for Bibles. It is our hope that everyone around the world soon hears the Good News—with your help!

We’re excited about a new partnership God formed this summer with Elevation Church, based in Charlotte, NC. Elevation is a multi-campus church (22 locations) that organizes a week of service each July called LOVEWeek. Although the week’s slate of activities was scaled back this year due to COVID-19, FtH was invited for the first time to facilitate social distance food packing as a way for church members to be the difference during this pandemic. Over five days, Elevation had more than 1,300 members safely pack over 100,000 meals! Many people came back for multiple sessions because of the fun and fulfillment it brought in the midst of a difficult time. One of the campus leaders said, “We loved our experience and our people loved packing meals! I hope we will be able to work again soon!” There are huge needs for food around the world, especially at this time. The Social Distance Packathon has proven to be a safe and impactful way to serve others and share Christ even now. Why not recommend a Packathon to your church today?


Overcoming Educational Hurdles Crawford Hitt | Edu-Pack Director

In 1998 I made my first foreign mission trip. My wife and I helped with a campaign in our Sunday school class to collect school supplies and toys to send to Haiti. The campaign was a huge success, and the Haitian family taking the supplies to Haiti asked me to go with them and help distribute the items. On the final day, we were in a small village giving out the last of our supplies: little flip-notebooks and golf pencils (the ones with no eraser). I was a bit embarrassed, thinking that no one would want these items. I was wrong. In minutes our Jeep was surrounded with parents trying to get one of the prized notebooks and pencils. When they did get one, they screamed, “NOW WE CAN GO TO SCHOOL!” I didn’t know it then, but school supplies are vital for children in many countries. And if you don’t have your own supplies, you can’t go to school. In fact, the two biggest hurdles for most schools we serve are school supplies and food for the children. That is what makes Edu-Pack and Feed the Hunger working together such a great idea. Our complementary ministries provide a synergy like no other organization. Together we can help our missionary partners provide more to their congregations and communities. Together we give our ministry partners more opportunities to serve. Together we can accomplish more for the kingdom.

A Word from the

Dear Friends and Partners,

“I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith” (Ephesians 3:16–17a). By God’s grace, we are trying to walk through these challenging days in the power of His Spirit. I hope the same is true for you. Social distance food packing continues in a safe and effective manner. We praise the Lord for churches like Elevation and individuals like you who have packed during this pandemic, because the need doesn’t stop with the lockdowns. In fact, it has only grown. We are also excited to partner again with former Board member Crawford Hitt and Edu-Pack to provide backpacks for children. We especially target those who also receive Bibles and food from us. Doing all three allows us to have a more holistic impact on their lives. Let’s continue to help people survive and thrive through this pandemic and going forward! Serving with you,
