RESERVING GROUP PICNIC AREAS
Picnic reservations can be made up to 18 months in advance of your selected date. All fees are due and payable at the time of reservation. Reservations are accepted at the Parks and Recreation Administration Office. Reservations are available by phone using a VISA, Discover, MasterCard or American Express (See Fees & Amenities on the other side.)
CANCELLATIONS, RAINOUTS, REFUNDS
A) Full Refund: If received two weeks or more prior to the reservation date. B) Half Refund: During peak season (March–September), if cancellation is received less than two weeks prior to the reservation date. C) No Refund: If a customer fails to show or no cancellation notice is received prior to the date of the reservation. D) Inclement Weather Rain Outs: Will be determined by Parks & Recreation staff. Reservation holders may reschedule based on availability and within 90 days from the original reservation date. Customers must notify the Parks Administration Office 830.221.4350 within the first three working days of the rain out date.
SPECIAL USE PERMITS
Advanced permission is required if your event will include any of the following: • Inflatable & amusement rides/games • Music or amplified sound • Use of a caterer or entertainer • Use of a catering grill • Expected attendance over 200 • Use of tents • Additional amenities Reservations may require additional fees and provision of portable toilets, security, chaperones, food permits, additional waste containers. A Special Event Permit Packet outlines the process to apply for special permits associated with activities conducted within the park system.
PARK RULES
• Feeding of wildlife is prohibited. Ordinance 2018-58 • Personal grills are prohibited. • Park hours: 6am–Midnight (Cypress Bend hours : 6am–dusk) • Glass containers are prohibited. • Consumption of alcoholic beverages is not allowed in parking lots or within 25 feet of park roadways. Alcohol is only allowed in Landa Park, Fischer Park and Camp Comal. • Tents, hammocks and overnight camping is prohibited. • Pets must be on a leash at all times and can only extend 6ft in length. • Pets are not allowed in any Landa Park waterway. • All habitat and wildlife are protected. • Picnicking, wading and swimming only allowed in designated areas. • Volleyball, horseshoes and piñatas allowed in designated areas only. • No person may use an area or facility for any purpose other than its designated use. • Park Rangers will collect a $25 picnic space fee in season (Easter weekend through October 31). For residents 1st space is free. • Only free-standing canopies without a bottom are allowed. • It is prohibited to stake anything in the ground. • Live music, excessive noise and disturbing conduct are prohibited. • Panther Canyon trail for pedestrian use only. • Due to environmental impact and user conflicts, some sports and activities may be prohibited. • Amusement devices are allowed in designated areas only and require a special use permit. • Barricades are in place from 7am–8pm on weekends & holidays from Easter–Labor Day in Landa Park on Playground Dr. and Hinman Island Dr. • Metal detectors are not allowed in City parks.
OTHER AVAILABLE RENTALS:
Landa Haus: A perfect indoor location to hold your family reunion, business meeting, wedding reception or other special event.
• Use of tobacco products is prohibited on or within 50 feet of any outdoor city-owned youth athletic fields, skate park, playgrounds or playground equipment.
Gazebos: Two gazebos located in Landa Park are great locations to reserve for weddings. Dance Slab: Located in Landa Park is equipped with lights and electricity with plenty of room for dancing. Sand Volleyball Courts: Three courts are located in Landa Park and are available for an additional fee.

Per Article 1, Sec. 86-2 of the City of New Braunfels Code of Ordinances, individual picnic spaces are available throughout the park system on a first come, first served basis. Park rangers will collect a $25 per picnic space fee in season for non-residents. With proof of residency, citizens living inside the corporate city limits of New Braunfels will not be charged for the first picnic space. A picnic space includes, but is not limited to tables, chairs, blankets and/or canopies.
