O gloriosa Virginum O gloriosa Virginum, Sublimis inter sidera, Qui te creavit, parvulum Lactente nutris ubere.

O Queen of all the Virgin choir, Enthroned above the starry sky; Who with pure milk from thy own breast Thy own Creator didst supply.

Quod Heva tristis abstulit, Tu reddis almo germine: Intrent ut astra flebiles, Coeli recludis cardines.

What man hath lost in hapless Eve, Thy sacred womb to man restores; Thou to the sorrowing here beneath Hast open’d Heaven’s eternal doors.

Tu regis alti janua, Et aula lucis fulgida: Vitam datam per Virginem, Gentes redemptae plaudite.

Hail, O refulgent Hall of light! Hail, Gate sublime of Heaven’s high King! Through thee redeem’d to endless life, Thy praise let all the nations sing.

Jesu, tibi sit gloria, Qui natus es de Virgine, Cum Patre, et almo Spiritu In sempiterna saecula. Amen

O Jesu! born of Virgin bright, Immortal glory be to Thee; Praise to the Father infinite, And Holy Ghost eternally. Amen.

PROGRAM NOTES Or sus, serviteurs du Seigneur Or sus, serviteurs du Seigneur Vous qui, de nuit en son honneur, Dedans sa maison le servez, Louez-le et son nom élevez.

Now again, you servants of the Lord You who in the night for His honor, serve inside his house, Praise and lift up His name.

Cantate Domino Cantate Domino canticum novum; laus ejus in ecclesia sanctorum. Laetetur Israël in eo qui fecit eum, et filii Sion exsultent in rege suo. Laudent nomen ejus in choro; in tympano et psalterio psallant ei.

Sing ye to the Lord a new canticle: let His praise be in the church of the saints. Let Israel rejoice in Him that made Him: and let the children of Zion be joyful in their king. Let them praise His name in choir: let them sing to Him with the timbrel and the psaltery.

Sing to the Lord a new song, For He works wonders! And He conquers with His right hand. Let the whole world rejoice in the Lord! Sing, glorify, and praise, Praise the Lord with harps and psaltery And with trumpets and trombones! May the sea roar, and whatever is in it, The foundation of the earth, and those that live upon it, May the floods celebrate And all the hills be joyful before the Lord! Sing to the Lord a new song! Sing, glorify, and praise!

PROGRAM NOTES Laudate Dominum Laudate Dominum omnes gentes; laudate eum omnes populi. Quoniam confirmata est super nos misericordia ejus, et veritas Domini manet in æternum.

PACIFIC CHORAL ENSEMBLES Choral music at the University of the Pacific has a long and distinguished tradition with the first collegiate a cappella choir in the West established here in 1916. Under the direction of Dr. Yejee Choi, the Pacific Choral Ensembles are a rich and vital component of Conservatory and University life. They are a platform for the fundamentals of ensemble collaboration, musicianship and musicality, providing an opportunity to learn a myriad of styles and genres while singing together. Representative repertoire includes Beethoven’s “Symphony No. 9” (performed with the Stockton Symphony), Brahms’s “Liebeslieder Walzer”, Fauré’s “Requiem”, and a variety of classical, spiritual and gospel, jazz and a cappella repertoire from different cultures. Pacific Singers is a select mixed voice chamber choir, and Pacific’s flagship choral ensemble. It combines with the University Chorus and Oriana Women’s Choir for two concerts each semester and performs annually with the University Symphony Orchestra or the Stockton Symphony in the performance of major choral and orchestral works. The Pacific Singers also sing at significant University events, such as at the Board of Regents dinner in the fall of 2015. This November, they will be taking a mini tour to Santa Cruz. University Chorus is a large mixed chorus open to any student in the University by audition. It combines with the other choirs for two performances each semester and performs in both a cappella and choral-orchestral works in a wide variety of genres. Membership in our choral ensembles is open by audition to any University of the Pacific student of any major. Auditions are held at the beginning and end of each semester. While vocal majors perform in choral ensembles each semester, all music majors sing in an ensemble for at least two semesters. For more information, contact Dr. Choi at ychoi@pacific.edu. Delta Singers is a small chamber choir of the finest singers that performs choral music written for the small vocal ensemble. The Delta Singers performs a variety of types and styles of music in many forums throughout the community and state. Delta College Concert Choir stresses the art of singing in a large choral ensemble. Choral masterworks for large choir are selected from the repertoire of all historical periods. The choir is open to all Delta students and tours annually.
