It’s conveniently located near your residence hall and offers breakfast, lunch, dinner and everything in between. You’ll find a variety of fresh food options that will satisfy any appetite.

▸ Twelve floors tall and boasting a unique cylindrical shape, Nelson is a campus landmark. ▸ The updated 12th floor lounge offers sweeping views of the campus and community. It can be used for meetings, floor programs and studying. ▸ Rooms include full-size beds and are located around the building’s circular perimeter, which feature several community spaces, including a lounge, study room, kitchenette, and laundry room on each floor.

▸ Co-ed by floor; Nelson is the only hall targeted specifically for upperclass and transfer students. ▸ The building is made up of Upperclass Single rooms. Nelson's student rooms and lounges were renovated in 2019 and 2020 with new lighting, shades, carpet and furniture.

EAST SNARR HALL Learning Communities ▸ Biosciences & Chemistry: This community provides outstanding opportunities to learn and participate in handson labs with fellow students and faculty which will build a solid foundation for pursuing a science or health-related career. Students in this LC usually become involved with undergraduate research opportunities. ▸ Education: As a student majoring in any of the Education programs, join this community to take classes and engage in experiences with others who share your passion for becoming an effective teacher. Members of this community are typically involved in community activities, actively engaged in programming designed to connect students with faculty, and frequently are active leaders on campus.

SOUTH SNARR HALL Learning Communities ▸ Business: Explore fascinating aspects of business, take Business 101 with other students in your Learning Community, and participate in tours of local companies to learn first-hand from leaders within the Fargo-Moorhead area. ▸ Communication and Journalism: Become exposed to career opportunities, participate in service learning projects to help you apply the knowledge and skills you learn in class, or join various organizations with focus areas related to communication and journalism. ▸ Honors: Live with other students who have been accepted into the Honors program, have a Dragon Mentor dedicated to providing you with guidance and various academic and social programs, and have the opportunity to attend campus events for your Honors Encounters requirements. ▸ Psychology: You will live with other students who have declared Psychology as a major, take classes with students who live on your floor, participate in organized study groups for Learning Community participants, and explore careers related to your field. ▸ STEM: In this community you will be exposed to career options within your area of study, and interact with faculty members who are dedicated to helping you achieve excellence in the classroom and beyond. Students will also tour technology companies within the area to begin networking with industry professionals. ▸ Social Work: First year and transfer Social Work students take classes with those in your major, learn about opportunities to become involved with the Social Work student organization, and participate in various service projects. ▸ Speech Language Hearing Sciences: This community provides Speech Language Hearing Science majors with opportunities to connect with faculty, interact with professionals in the field within the Fargo Moorhead Community, and be part of the activities of MSUM Chapter of the National Student Speech-Language and Hearing Association. WEST SNARR HALL Learning Communities ▸ Nursing: This community provides outstanding opportunities to learn and particapate in hands-on labs with fellow students and faculty which will build a solid founation for pursuing a nursing science of healthrelated career. ▸ Rainbow Dragon: The Rainbow Dragon LC reflects the diverse world in which we live by providing students of any major at MSUM to meaningfully discuss gender and sexuality. You will live in a supportive environment and learn about the connections between diverse LGBT+ identities and social justice with LGBT+ and allied peers, faculty, and staff. ▸ Health & Wellness: The Health and Wellness LC is designed for students interested in working in the healthcare industry. Students of any major can join this Learning Community as well as students who may be unsure of which area of healthcare they are interested in.
