Personal color analysis—a

storm! While the seasonal color system has been going strong in the United Kingdom for more than 40 years, a new generation here in the U.S. is having fun discovering whether they are a winter, spring, summer, or autumn. House of Colour, a local consulting studio, says that for some, the confidence boost from the color process can be life-changing.

Kassie Padgett and Dannee Geshay, co-owners of the House of Colour franchise in Waco, started their colorful journey two years ago when Dannee convinced Kassie that she needed to get her “colors done”. Dannee grew up hearing about her “season” from her mother, who owned one of the original books discussing personal color analysis.

After chancing upon House of Colour on social media, she insisted that her sister join her to find out their best colors with a regional Image Consultant. Blown away by the professionalism of the process, Dannee embraced her autumn season, cleaned out her closet, and told everyone who would listen about the lifechanging experience.

Weeks later, Kassie joined her for a color analysis appointment of her own. Kassie admitted, “I went into the day thinking, ‘I’m still probably going to keep wearing whatever colors I want. Color cannot be that impactful.’ But I could not believe the difference that warm and cool colors made on the appearance of my face. Once you see it, you can’t unsee it.” Empowered by her cool, vivid winter palette, Kassie gained confidence in choosing clothes that complimented her features and harmonized with her skin tone.

“Seeing the process was fascinating and FUN! We wanted others to experience that transformation, and not have to drive several hours to do it,” said Dannee. After attending extensive training, the duo are now expert Image Consultants in Waco, trained in House of Colour’s proprietary color analysis process. During each 90 minute personal color consultation, they use a series of precision-dyed colored drapes to narrow down the tones and shades that enhance a client’s complexion. “You learn so much more than what you might initially think,” said Kassie. “People generally assume we are just talking about clothing colors, but you’re going to use your color palette if you add color to your hair, makeup colors, best jewelry metals, nail polish, glasses, and more. Anytime you’re surrounding yourself with color, it can be your best colors.”

House of Colour also offers a style analysis class that helps people find the best clothing and cut for their body. They use body architecture, face shape, and even a fun personality quiz to really determine what clothing silhouettes and style details will be the most flattering to each individual.
