Testing community got together in discussing hacks that have worked for them. 417 Minds attended across locations in interesting sessions. Testers got insights on practical ways of using add-ons while testing web applications.

The community created an experts database. This is a step higher than an organization bestowing the mantle of expertise. Young minds who felt apprehensive about speaking up, demonstrated their expertise to their seniors. Keeping tab on technological advances in a large ecosystem is best achieved by a community than a few individuals. This COE leveraged community platform to get up to speed with the fast consolidating and changing technology world of SAP. During one of the meets the community discovered that 3 different teams were trying to achieve the same utility in 3 different ways without interacting with each other! Face-to-face conversations, helped in improving customer perception. Customers appreciated the fact that MindTree has a community and their teams are not working in isolation.

Another example of community teaching itself skills that are required by most developers where the need for a structured training didn’t make sense Over 200 community members participated. One of the attendee said, “I attended all the sessions. It’s really a great effort giving a foundation of shell scripts. The sessions really helped me in learning shell scripts as it involved case studies also.”

Around 1500 MindTree Minds have read and commented on 15 myths that was addressed and explained. A speaker in Agile India 2012 conclave said, “The ‘Agile Myths and Misinterpretations’ is an extremely useful and informative compilation on myths prevalent in Scrum waters. What I liked immediately about it, was that it went beyond simply listing the myths; it dove deep into issues, how myths are introduced into the process and take root, and what people can do to prevent such problems from plaguing their teams and clients. I have used it whilst preparing for my session in Agile India 2012, and would have no hesitation doing so again.”
