Checkpoints intercept P30,000 illegal lumbers, unlicensed gun

A 39-YEAR-OLD man yielded an unlicensed gun while P30,000 worth of illegal lumbers were seized at the joint police and Task Force Davao checkpoints in Toril and Lacson, Calinan on Friday, March 10.

The Joint AFP-PNP Border Control Point in Barangay Eden, in close coordination with the Davao City Environment and down a truck carrying 15 pieces of gmelina.

The authorities ac - costed an Isuzu Elf bearing plate number MCV 6955 driven by Jerry P. Villacite, 30, married, and a resident of Purok 3, New Visayas, Trento, Agusan Del Sur. He was traveling toward Davao City around 1:34 p.m. and passed by the mandatory checkpoint

NPA leader surrenders,

A HIGH-RANKING communist rebel leader in Caraga surrendered to soldiers, bringing high-powered firearms and ammunition in Barangay St. Christine, Lianga, Surigao del Sur on March 9.

He was identified as Patrick Tejeros Wagdos, squad leader of Sandata - hang Yunit Pampropaganda - Interyor/Grupong Staff (SYP-I/GS), Headquarters Force, Sub-Regional Committee (HQF, SRC) Southland, North Eastern Mindanao Regional Committee (NEMRC).

He surrendered o the 3rd Special Forces Bat( /NPA/10) inspection at Sitio Augis, Barangay Eden.

Colonel Darren E. Comia, Task Force Davao commander, vowed to intensify the inspection of all trucks entering Davao City that might carry illegal forest products.

Tagum cop nabbed for robbing a fashion store

A PATROLMAN was arrested after allegedly robbing a sales lady in a fashion store along Lapu-Lapu street, Barangay Magugpo, Tagum City, around 5:30 p.m. on March 9.

Lt. Col Edgardo Bernardo, officer-in-charge of Tagum Police Station, as Patrolman Doria, a resident of Poblacion Bayugan, Agusan del Sur.

He was assigned to the Prosperidad Municipal Police Station. Accordingly, the police received a report of a robbery that happened in( /TAGUM/10)
