ABOUT THE MARCOS GT
At the Frenchy’s’ Spring Fling Car Show sponsored by DJ Car-Guy Productions on May 1, 2021, we were thrilled to see the 1964 Marcos 1800 owned by Coln Donphy.
The Marcos GT is the name used by the British firm of Marcos Engineering Ltd for all of their cars until the introduction of the Mantis in 1970. Most commonly, the name is used to describe the very low coupé designed by brothers Dennis and Peter Adams. The name, Marcos, comes from its founders Jem Marsh and Frank Costin. The car was first introduced as the Marcos 1800 in 1964, with a wooden chassis and a Volvo P1800 engine, although later models had a steel chassis and commonly Ford engines although others were also available. The majority of these sports cars were sold in kit form.
The Marcos that was at the show in Cranston, Rhode Island was one of twelve with a Triumph 16 engine. This makes it a very rare version. Coln drove it down from Millis, Massachusetts and was awarded Best Import.

The Marco GT was out of production from 1972 until 1981, when small scale kit production recommenced. The original GT continued to be built until 1989 or 1990, being developed into its altered Mantula form. This was further developed into more powerful and aggressively-styled designs, culminating in the 1994 LM600 (which competed in the 1995 Le Mans 24hour race). As was the intent with most Marcos products, the GT series saw much competition use. The original 1800 and other 1960s and 1970s Marcos are still competitive in both FIA and HSCC (UK) historic racing series. (Sourced information)

Cat from New Jersey
By ROB MAY and ERIC SAMMET Built in Metuchen, New Jersey, this 1975 Mercury Bobcat Runabout now resides in Fort Myers, FL with its owner Eric Sammet. “I am one of the lucky Gearheads – I still have my first car - The Bobcat.” Eric, born and raised in Painesville, Ohio, moved to FL in 2003. “I’ve been married for 14 years to Samantha Sammet. We have 2 sons Zackary Sammet (8) & Mason Sammet (5). I am a manager of a large diesel truck repair shop and operator of a 25-ton wrecker.”

I was pumped because I love cars and it was my favorite color, Orange!” At that time, the mileage was 24,000 miles. The car’s previous owner was the original owner. Overall, its condition for being in NE Ohio was great, no rust just very faded from sun and no wax nor up-keep on the paint. Sadly, the engine had over heated and had blown head gaskets. “At 13-years-old, I went to work getting the 2.8L V6 torn down to cylinder heads, inspected for cracks and replaced the cylinder head gaskets with my Dad’s help and some friends. Once the Bobcat was complete with new paint, engine rebuilt and running, brand new BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires and fresh gas, it was time to roll. “I was pulled over by local PD the first time driving the car. The reason, luckily not speeding but a head light out. Cop was very understanding and gave me a verbal warning and instructed me to get it fixed.” This Mercury was Eric’s daily driver all thru out high school. “The car would be parked during the harsh salty winters in NE, Ohio, but come summertime, I would be back in the (Bitch’n Bobcat) as my mom nicknamed the car. I even had orange vinyl stickers made and put on the windshield, so it is a very unique car!” The Bobcat is and was a regular Joe car, it was affordable for everyone in the 70’s. “It was an everyday commuter car so every time I go to a car show, gas station or just to run around town, I always get stopped and people tell me their personal “Pinto” story. How they or a friend owned one, how great of a car it was and that it got a bad rap about blowing-up, but they ran theirs till the wheels fell off with no issues!”
Currently the car goes to about 3-7 car shows a year. The Mercury was taken to the Ford product Development Center Truck and Car Show and was a Feature car at the show in 2015. “I enjoy taking it to car shows because it is so unique. Most people can’t believe I’m the proud owner and a collector since I’m younger than the car! I also own a ‘78 Bobcat wagon and a ‘75 Pinto 4-cylinder drag car. Eric is a member of the Ford Pinto Car Club of America.

Raising awareness of diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG) By ED YESSAIAN and TEAM NASH!!! I have attended and competed in Car Shows at every level imaginable for over 30 years. I have judged club events and have also been hired to professionally judge Concourse events. I have run my own shows and racing events for the past 16 years. I have written professionally for Motorhead Magazine for eleven years now!! But through all of my experiences I have never in my life seen such an amazing outpouring of love, support, and admiration as I witnessed at Jim Michaud and Shawn Sanga’s “BASH FOR NASH”. We brought you the story of our fearless hero Nash in the March 2021 issue of Motorhead and I knew from the get go that this show was going to be big. However, I never imagined exactly how big, as Nash would bring in over 2000 cars, 250 motorcycles, construction equipment, military vehicles, monster trucks, and pretty much anything that could be squeezed into the gates of New England Dragway in Epping, NH. There was not a dry eye in the house as Nash rolled in with a late model Lamborghini, escorted by State and Local Police, Fire, and Emergency vehicles of all kinds. This scene alone was one of the most amazing sights imaginable as over 12,000 people cheered as he rolled through. Throughout the day endless supporters provided food, drinks, and raffle prizes to help spread Nash’s message. Through social media the family later reached out to try and address each and every person- “Nash and the Rogers Family wants to thank the supporters who generously took the time and resources to help give Nash an amazing once in lifetime experience, while supporting DIPG awareness. The outpouring of support from the community is humbling to say the least. We cannot express in words the gratitude that we have for all who came out to
support Nash. Untamed Car Club and Detail Garage Defeats the Weather By ALLEN “VIPPRIMO” HARRIS of AggresiveDesign.net It seemed like the car community couldn’t catch a break. Coming off a year of constant denials for shows, we were chomping at the bit for something to happen in 2021 and organizers were dying to give it to us. Then on April 1st, with pandemic numbers climbing, stalwart car shows began to cancel. It seemed like a battle of attrition against various boards and attendance limits to actually pull off an event and the giants fell first. Most failed under the pressure of growing requirements, but a few smaller events, lurking in the shadows like rats hiding in the woodwork, began to pop up to via for the cheese the table was just brimming with.
Then, as April 11th’s first events began to come to bear, the looming rain storms came in like the typical giant wrench in the car show clock. tranny from RPM and a Level 7 diff from RPM as well. A carbon torque tube sits in the car tying it all together. Slowhawk Performance did all the work on the car, including the tuning. The car was mainly built for drag racing, but I also love doing burnouts. and this car definitely delivers on both those fronts. My friends and I were recently invited to Bradenton Florida for the first ever Cleetus and Cars event at the Freedom Factory and the first ever Burnout Rivals competition. The C7 and I did an almost 2 minute burnout while bouncing off the rev limiter. Eventually I had to pull off because of overheating issues. I’m not slowing down anytime soon. I plan on doing most of the Cleetus and Cars events across the country while also drag racing every time I get the chance.

MARC’S 1976 CORVETTE
READERS RIDES JIM WEICHERDING
Marc Cote, a Burrillville resident, purchased his 1976 Chevy Corvette from an automotive shop located on Route 100 in Burrillville, Rhode Island in 2006. The Corvette small block 350 Chevy engine only had 76,000 original miles when Marc purchased it. The transmission is a 3-speed automatic. Features power windows, power disc brakes front and rear
and air conditioning. He rarely drives this Chevy and only puts an average of 600 miles on the odometer annually. The Corvette wheels are 15” mounted on BF Goodrich Radial T/A Tires.
Marc told me that he only drives his Corvette to classic car shows and cruise nights whenever he gets the opportunity to do so. He is often joined by his wife Kathy when they attend and showcase their classic Chevy Corvette around the state of Rhode Island during the busy cruisin’ summer months. I actually see them at these car shows because as you all know, I rarely miss any of them, anywhere across the region. Marc also proudly took home some car show trophies at these events that he displays at his home. This 1976 Corvette has all of its factory options
and they still work perfectly well. The interior is all original leather and looks fantastic. When Marc refurbished the Corvette’s front end and rear end he left almost all of the original parts. He only had to replace the rubber bushings. The build sheet for this Corvette was still fully intact and in original condition attached to the gas tank. I have never seen that before and I’ve been under a lot of classic cars and trucks over the past few decades. Marc gutted the entire car and cleaned everything, including all of the components by hand. Then he reinstalled the original Corvette deluxe leather interior you would see inside this READERS RIDES classic vehicle today. Marc and Kathy occasionally enjoy quick cruises around town and some day trips when the weather is nice enough to do that in New England and this is definitely a fun region to cruise.

25 YEARS CRUISIN’ A&W JIM WEICHERDING Where does the time go? Honestly, where does it go? I cannot believe that I have been attending A&W Car Shows on Route 44 in Smithfield, Rhode Island for 25 years! I’m always, and I mean always, the very first vehicle that shows up at A&W on opening day. My buddy Dave was in the second vehicle arriving in his 1957 Chevy. After that, the line was too long to know who, or what, drove into the parking lot next. 25 years? That’s 15 years longer than Motorhead Magazine was even a magazine. Cruisin’ Bruce Palmer hasn’t missed a beat since this weekly car show started, with exceptional song selections, some attempts at humor and directing traffic, all while having a great big smile on his face. Like most of us, he loves this stuff! What’s not to love? A huge selection of classic cars and trucks, a variety of very cool muscle cars, antique vehicles that were manufactured before most of us were even thought of and some pretty cool foreign vehicles to round out the show vehicles usually in attendance at these weekly car show events. Tuesday, April 13th, was their season car show opener and people flocked in from all over the state and nearby Massachusetts and Connecticut to showcase their rides for onlookers and spectators to see and enjoy. Plenty of Motorhead
Magazines and Buckleupallofus Child Passenger Safety Coloring Posters were passed out to kids and adults throughout the entire night. Not only was the parking lot of A&W filled to capacity, we had plenty of cool Jeeps and classic cars and trucks parked across the street behind the pharmacy. It was a sight to behold. After more than a year of mostly reading, or hearing about, classic car show cancellations last cruisin’ season, we were able to launch the season with 36| Motorhead Magazine - May 2021

“Pipe dreams with humble beginnings.” By LARRY QUINTAL
If you own a muscle car with a head turning sound in or around Southern New England chances are Paul Braga is responsible. It all started in 1991 when Paul worked for his father-in-law- the well known Jack McDonough owner of Eco Muffler in Quincy. Paul learned what it took to know the right way and the wrong way. Many of day’s Paul thought he had done a great job, but to Jack it was not good enough. Paul learned that it was not as easy as just holding a pipe in place and welding. Each and every car has a different situation, says Paul. For example; a 1968 Mustang may require less talent because there is many different ways to route the exhaust than let’s say a 1964 Bellaire where you must follow the frame and have the perfect bend. Pipe bending is like an art, it takes many years to learn. After many years in training, Jack knew that Paul had what it took to open his own shop. Like our Italian friends would say, Paul had a “sit down” with his wife
Heather and his father- in- law Jack. Basically Paul was told to open up, sink or swim. Though Paul is Portuguese not Italian he did understand the point of a sit down.
In 2004 Paul found a five bay garage with one bay for rent in Taunton, MA. With his wife Heather standing behind him, Paul hung a shingle on the side of the building and Paul’s Custom Exhaust was born. So were a couple of children along the way, but we will get into that in a bit. Though Paul had what it took to build any exhaust, that was just half the battle, he would need much equipment such as pipe bending machines and welders, not to mention stock in hand. Paul had no choice but to take a loan to get what he would need. Paul was now ready for work. How would he compete with the big chain companies? He realized his idea of making custom exhaust rather than using the store bought bolt on (which never seems to fit most of the time) would set him apart. After a few friends Continued Next Page

and family used him, that would grow slowly to a friend of a friend and eventually word got out. Now Paul was getting customers that he did not know. One of the biggest breaks was a dealership saw the quality of his work and became a steady customer, which led to local chains such as U Haul using his services. As time went on Paul needed more space and an employee. He could no longer keep a phone in his back pocket wipe off his hands to answer it or answer the knock at the door all by his self. He rented the next bay. Fast forwarding several years customers would ask for a tune up, oil change, new tires, electrical work and so on. Paul’s Custom Exhaust became Paul’s Custom Exhaust & Complete Auto Service. With now renting every bay, eventually purchasing the building, employing 6 mechanics and a full -time secretary. Today Paul feels very thankful, he said he still believes in quality work and has knowledgeable mechanics. He is still hand’s on working alongside of them. Each mechanic has their own specialty, such as working on Audi, Volkswagen to American cars or repairing air conditioning. That’s what made us Successful and a full- service garage, Oh and wait remember I spoke of a few kids being born? Well Paul is proud to have his oldest son

car you have had in this shop? He would not give a straight answer but did say over the years several of the cars that came through his shop were sold at Barrett Jackson. In the end Paul said it was a nail biting beginning but would do it all over again. He enjoys working on everything from his elderly customers cars to the nitrous packed street machines. 1976 MERCURY MONTEGO By ROB MAY and BOB SAPP Blue Mercury cars and Anniversary years – Motorhead fans will know those are two of Rob May’s favorite themes. This month, we celebrate the 45th anniversary of this fantastic blue 1976 Mercury Montego owned by Bob Sapp. This is a true survivor with only 41000 miles. “In 1994, the family of the original owner of the car called my shop and asked if we could send a wrecker to get the car. They wanted it hauled

away as the shed it was in was falling over, and the lady who owned it had passed away.” The car had sat in that shed since 1986 when the fuel pump failed. “I told them I had no need for the car as they said it was a big Ford, so I assumed it to be a 4 door Ford LTD with peeling paint and poor construction.” Bob sent a wrecker to get it, and he told the wrecker driver just to keep the car and put it in his crusher pile. ‘He came by my store and said ‘look what you missed’ and it turned out to be this car.” At that time, it had 38000 miles on it. He took it home with him and

cleaned it up. “Then it sat in his garage until 2011 when I bought it from him.” The Mercury still had 38000 miles on it. The paint was in bad shape because it had so many bird droppings and other animal poop on it. “So I had to really work to get the paint restored on it”. Now the car is just immaculate inside and out. It really shows well. “I did not have any miles put on it, and it was always stored Continued Next Page
inside.” Under the hood is the 351W mated to a C4. Equipped with a/c, the Mercury initially sold in 1976 at Bart Starr Mercury in Birmingham. The dealer prep man dated and initialed this car on the radiator core support in ‘76. “He saw the car 2 years ago at a show and told me

By ROB MAY and RANDELL SPACKMAN After following the flying Chitty Chitty Bang Bang car (as seen in the April 2021 issue of Motorhead), we return to the ground in West Chester, PA to visit Randell Spackman’s animated Chevrolet truck. Not just any truck, this is a famous movie vehicle from CARS named Tow Mater. “My daughter, Madison, loved the ‘CARS’ movies. The Tow-Mater character was her favorite.” Randell had been looking for another crazy unusual project that would bring joy to
kids and others.” This was not about speed nor horsepower, but smiles. “This 1957 Chevy truck was for sale, and it was rough - PERFECT. I would hate to cut up a nice one.” He found an old 1961 cable wrecker body and a 1970 chevy one-ton drive train. This was mated together with a 1985 chevy 350 motor. “After setting my sights on this crazy idea and finding donor items to compile it together, I studied all parts of the build.” He even installed the bolt on Heim joints so it would wobble going down the road. Madison loved the idea of having

On the morning of Sunday April 18th, as I drove through the gates of New England Dragway, I wasn’t sure what to expect for the first Outlaw 10.50 race of the season. But I was pleasantly surprised by the turnout in all five indexes and witnessed the return of a few guys we hadn’t seen in a while. Many of the of your favorite local heroes made appearances, as well as four of the five 2020 Champions. At the end of the day everyone was glad to be back,
TRUE STREET 12.50- Newcomer Jay Leavitt would waste no time introducing himself to the 12.50 guys as he piloted his 2018 Mustang GT through the rounds. In the final he would face Scott Almstrom’s deadly consistent pickup, but Leavitt would take the win and gain the Points lead heading into week 2.

REAL STREET 11.50- The big story in 11.50 was the return of the Sniper Ted O’Connell who would cap off his victorious homecoming in a classic Mustang vs Camaro finale’. We hope to see Ted make a few more appearances but rumor has it that daughter Ashton will soon be taking the wheel. FAST STREET 10.50- This final was a hard one to pick a winner with two of the all-time favorites going head-to-head. Outlaw’s Sweetheart Michelle Sanford would face off against our good buddy Rocco Derrigo with the Nasty Orange Corvette doing its job and putting Rocco in the Winner’s Circle. SUPER STREET 9.50- MBP Racing’s Gregg Boudreau would go one on one with one of those infamous Belliveau brothers, with Eric Belliveau handling the driving chores masterfully, as he would take the win. WILD STREET 8.50- This index put on another Mustang vs Camaro final with multiple time Champion Bill Sanford in his son’s Z28 going up against the immaculate Mustang Mach 1 of Larry Dufresne. Dufresne would take this one and head into week two with some good old fashioned Mustang Momentum.

Paul Newman’s Hole In The Wall Gang Camp Car Show 2021 Season Launch JIM WEICHERDING To write that this car show was a big turnout would be an understatement. This new cruisin’ season car show, hosted by the Tri-State Cruisers, was unbelievably busy from one o’clock in the afternoon throughout the day until sunset. The weather was absolutely gorgeous, with bright sunny skies, warm temperatures and no rain to be found anywhere near this popular Saturday car show and cruise night. It was very windy but that didn’t seem to bother any of the nearly five hundred show vehicle owners and almost one thousand spectators attending the event. It was filled lot end, to lot end, to capacity with classic cars and trucks. So many show vehicles arrived, the parking volunteers had to direct drivers over to the adjacent parking lot on the opposite side of Pizza 101, on Route 101, located in Pomfret, Connecticut. The owner of Pizza 101 fired up the outdoor grills and sold every single hamburger and hot dog he had available to feed everyone that wanted something good to eat in attendance. I have been a part of the Tri-State Cruisers Car Club car shows and cruise nights since they first began hosting them in the state of Connecticut twenty-seven years ago. Dick Salvas and his dedicated crew have been helping to raise funds for many charity causes that includes The Hole In The Wall Gang Camp for very sick little kids that have a place to play and enjoy themselves while forgetting about their medical conditions for at least a little while. Their facilities were devastated by fires this past winter and they really could use our help and support to rebuild their facilities for kids to enjoy again very soon and for years down the road.

The Waterless Coolant Advantage The Waterless Coolant Advantage
Intercoolers
When considering which coolant to use for racing, the first thing to consider is if is track legal. Water might be the default, as glycols are generally not allowed because of slippery hazardous conditions that result if the coolant gets on the track. Under high temperatures, vapor forms, pressure builds, and boilover can occur. If that coolant contains glycols, it becomes a dangerous and difficult mess to clean.
Air-to-Liquid Intercoolers act like a “backwards radiator”, absorbing heat from the compressed air into the coolant. From a heat transfer standpoint, liquid water is best. Intercoolers typically do not see water temps above boiling point, so the benefit of waterless coolant for stabilizing or lowering the temp. is less evident than in the engine radiator. Where corrosion is a concern Evans offers long term protection but will not necessarily show an improvement in intake-air temperature.
The exception to the No-Glycol rule is Evans Waterless Coolants. The NHRA has approved Evans Waterless Coolant for use at the National and Divisional events. Wait, you might say, if it’s waterless, it must be all glycols, and how can that allowed? Evans is as slippery as other glycol/water-based coolants, but it will not form vapor, build pressure or boil out. Evans lower pressure significantly decreases the risk of coolant loss and is a much safer option that provides both performance and preservation advantages.
Performance Evans Waterless Coolant (EWC) functions differently in the cooling system by avoiding the boiling condition at stressed temperatures, which is the weakness of water. It will remain a liquid, maintaining constant liquid-to-metal contact for consistent heat transfer. The most effective liquid coolant is one that has the ability to absorb a high amount of heat before boiling which will result in the lowest metal temperature in the cylinder ahead.
Preservation Benefits Evans also prevents other water-caused problems such as corrosion and electrolysis. It is generally not necessary to seasonally change the coolant out, unless it becomes contaminated. Evans will not freeze, and protects to minus 40° F. It will thicken under extreme cold temps but will contract (unlike water which expands) in cold temperatures.
The choice for Museums and Collectors Many car museums across the country choose Evans for long term protection against the effects of water. This is especially true for older vehicles with dissimilar metals in the system that sit for long periods of time. Liquid Temps vs Metal Temps A system which is highly optimized for water, with restrictive flow and high pressure differentials, can cause slower circulation with EWC. Evans coolant won’t boil, but if held longer in the engine, can pick up more heat. The coolant temp is what your gauge reads. If the rest of the system is capable and compatible, the EWC can process more heat out of the engine, and the “engine component temps” are actually improved and stabilized. By SOUZA MEDIA / KYLE SOUZA Thompson, CT ¬— Hudson, NH’s Derek Griffith went wire-to-wire to capture the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) Thompson 75 at the annual Icebreaker on Saturday, April 10. Griffith grabbed the lead in the first corner and was on a rail from there, claiming victory in the headliner for the afternoon session of the 82nd Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park season opener. Griffith’s win kept the young star perfect on the PASS Super Late Model season. He captured both PASS National Easter Bunny 150 events at North Carolina’s Hickory Motor Speedway the previous weekend. Now Griffith also has a win in the PASS North championship opener. It took less than 500 feet for Griffith to get to the front at Thompson. He started second after winning the second qualifying heat, and when polesitter Ben Rowe had trouble coming up to speed, Griffith and several others shot past. The only thing that could slow Griffith was the race’s lone caution on lap 3 when Garrett Hall tagged the backstretch wall. When the field went green again, Griffith put the hammer down. Rowley, MA’s Eddie “The Outlaw” MacDonald gave chase as best he could, and could narrow the gap some in traffic, but Griffith restored his margin every time they got clear. Even as multiple other drivers had strong runs go sour in the unseasonable warm weather, Griffith never wavered. He ultimately put more than half the field a lap down and cruised to an impressive win. “I love it here,” Griffith said after the race. “I tell people all the time about how cool the Icebreaker is and how big of a weekend it is. You know we travel everywhere and not everybody understands how big of a weekend it is — and not just for PASS…so to come get another (win) here is pretty cool. It’s definitely one to mark off.” MacDonald finished second with Center Conway, NH’s Gabe Brown a comfortable third. Shaw, Johnny Clark, Corey Casagrande, Mike Scorzelli, and Dan Winter rounded out the top-10. Berlin, CT’s Keith Rocco came out on top of a barnburner to win the Sunoco Modified season opener. Rocco started fourth in the 30-lap main event and took the lead from Oxford, MA’s Troy Talman on a lap-9 restart after Christian Turissi’s spin. Wolcott, CT’s Mike Christopher moved into the runner-up spot following the second caution on lap 13. Rocco and Christopher pulled away from the field nose-to-tail for several laps, but with seven to go, the real battle began. Christopher dove inside Rocco entering turn 3, the first of what would be six passes in as many laps. Rocco, however, kept putting his Modified out front at the start/finish line where it counted. As the duo got the two-to-go signal, Christopher finally had the lead by a nose at the line and cleared Rocco entered turn one. Rocco went back underneath him in the third turn, and the two banged nerf bars. Christopher slid up the track, allowing Rocco to get away for another victory in his dominating Thompson Speedway career. Talman and Todd Owen also got past Christopher thanks to the late contact, finishing second and third in the final rundown. Christopher had to settle for fourth. Danny Cates, Jonathan Puleo, John Lowinski-Loh, Richard Williams, Jason Sundeen, and Paul LaPlante completed the top-10. Franklin, MA’s Bobby Santos III kicked off his Icebreaker weekend with a victory in the 25-lap NEMA LITES Midgets feature. Santos started seventh in the Matt and Bob Seymour-owned #1, and after a slow start, began him march to the front. He inherited the second spot on lap 13 when Dan Cugini’s Midget shut down, then caught leader Jim Santa Maria with eight laps to go. One lap later, Santos drove beneath Santa Maria on the front stretch and cleared him entering turn 1. It was no contest from there as Santos sailed to the victory. Plymouth, MA Paul Newcomb ended a frenetic two days on a high note by winning the 25-lap Street Stock Open feature. Newcomb started fourth and found an opening early, muscling beneath polesitter Ryan Waterman in turn four to take the lead after two laps.

Renfrew got a shot on a restart with eight laps to go after Zachary Mead’s spin. But the #00 got loose exiting turn four the following lap. Renfrew eventually slid back to fourth as Newcomb marched to the victory.
Sterling, CT’s Jared Roy continued his domination of the Thompson Mini Stocks with a victory in their 15-lap feature. Roy came from seventh on the starting grid to run down Steven Michalski at the halfway mark. After ducking inside Michalski as the leaders completed lap nine, Roy completed the pass entering turn one a circuit later.
Waterman finished second with Kyle Gero third. Joe Kohler, Wayne Coury, Bobby Segar Jr., Devin McConologue, Justin Travis, and Nick Hovey also earned top-10 finishes.
Coming out of turn four the next time around, Michalski broke loose and spun to bring out the race’s only caution. Roy had a rear-view mirror full of Gales Ferry, CT’s Thomas Silva over the final four laps, but held on for the victory. Dave Trudeau, Douglas Curry, and Charles Canfield completed the top-five.
Freeport, NY’s Gerard Giordano Jr. won a photo finish over Warwick, RI’s Ryan Vanasse in the 35-lap EXIT Realty Pro Truck Challenge feature. Vanasse had pulled away in the middle stages of the event, but Giordano had the better long-run truck and ran him down with seven laps to go. The fourth and final caution came out soon after, setting up a four-lap dash to the finish. Vanasse initially cleared Giordano on the restart. With two laps to go, though, Giordano ducked back inside. Entered turn for the final time, the duo touched and got sideways. After

/ Etch looks left, then right, then behind him. The muscle car stops abruptly, and Etch looks behind him, and ahead of him, before he mats the gas pedal and slaps the shifter into drive. The GTO front end and tires lift off the pavement, leaning slightly to the right side, as the rear tires grab the black top before starting to spin and leaving a cloud of smoke in its wake. The GTO front end and tires slam down onto the pavement and the car launches back down the roadway headed back to the gas station. The GTO is now passing by the gas station and the teens quickly grab their phones and record OUTLAW traveling by them at a high rate of speed. They were laughing and slapping each other on the back as the GTO vanishes out of sight. Etch backs down on the gas pedal and brings OUTLAW
to a normal cruising speed not seeing any police cars anywhere around him. He continues down the backroad hoping that stays the same... at least, for a little while. The GTO cruises beyond the wood line and disappears down the roadway. Etch starts to feel very uneasy and saddened that everything has come to this point in our lives. He reflects upon the good ‘ole days, when anyone could cruise down any road or highway in any vehicle he, or she, wanted to drive. He turns on his car stereo and catches his favorite radio show just starting to play; The Time Machine on WBLQ in Westerly, Rhode Island. They play oldies from ten in the morning, until seven in the evening, every Saturday. The radio station DJ, Crazy Chris is joined by Jim Weicherding. Jim is a popular Cartoonist,

13th Annual Car Show to Help Warwick’s Homeless Animals The 13th Annual “Cause for Paws” Classic Car Show roars to life on Sunday, June 13, 2021 at 171 Service Place, located at 171 Service Avenue (off Jefferson Blvd.), Warwick, RI 02886. Rain date is Sunday, July 18, 2021. Classic Cars to 1999 and all-year Corvettes along with Antique, Hot Rod, Muscle, Exotic, Rat Rod, Custom Cars, Fire Trucks, etc. are invited to exhibit. Vehicle registration is from 9 AM to 12 PM, with free goody bags and commemorative Dash Plaques to the first 100 entries. The entry fee is $15.00 per car. Trophies will be awarded at 2 PM to the top 50 cars, as voted by participants. Trophies will also be awarded to six 2001-present cars, Best of Show, People’s Choice, Best Club Participation and our special “Mo” Award. Free admission for spectators.
