How long have you been in the real estate industry?

I have been in the industry 2.5 years working with the Lewis Realty team. Before that, I have worked for small businesses in several industries.

My husband and I moved to Custer 2.5 years ago from Pennsylvania. I had only been to South Dakota once and my husband had been twice. We were looking to move to a long-term apartment anywhere in the Black Hills just to get here, then look around for a permanent home afterwards once we got to know the area and the area got to know us. We heard about a longterm apartment available in Custer and we took it. We arrived and found out that Custer is the perfect town for us! It’s neat to look back and see how God was guiding the way for us.

Kubas says you’ll find tons of wildlife in this area as well as a huge 30-foot-deep ravine. With luxury views, comes luxury craftmanship.

“When you’re building luxury homes, there’s a little bit more attention to detail. You often have higher end products like in the cabinets, countertops and flooring. In some of the homes, we will do a knockdown texture on the walls as well. That’s something we found people really enjoy.”

“These are million-dollar homes,” says Kubas. “The second home that we built in the fall of 2023 went under contract for $1.175 million. So, you’re getting top quality from our team. “One of the lots going up right now is going to be my personal home on two acres. My previous 20-acre house was on the outskirts of town, and I wanted something a little further out that wasn’t so much maintenance. We wanted to make it our home and be part of this development to enjoy these incredible views for a couple years before selling it.”
