The Connected Educator Welcome to our Special Edition of TNT covering Summer Training opportunities for learning technology at Modesto City Schools. Check out the following pages for information about the TCE Summer Camp for Teachers at Davis High School and daily workshops being offered for all of our staff during the months of June and July at the Pearson Computer Lab.

TCE stands for The Connected Educator but what does that mean? Students are routinely connected with technology participating in social media and games where they acquire and apply their knowledge collaboratively. Their time is being spent more on social networking sites, multimedia, and virtual environments that are highly engaging and many times encourages creative thinking and problem solving. The Connected Educator is one whom realizes the potentials of technology for professional and personal learning practices. The Connected Educator (TCE) actively integrates technology and classroom curriculum to create student-focused environments of collaboration, creative thinking, problems solving, communication, and creativity. TCE’s interact with colleagues and personal learning networks where they share topics of practice and ideas about teaching and learning. TCE’s are connected educators, connected learners, and are facilitating 21st Century Skills acquisition with their students. Our Summer Training opportunities are a great way to learn and practice technology skills for developing and nurturing the TCE in all of us, including:  Engage and Amaze Students with Interactive Features of Nearpod  Build a Collaborative Classroom and Increase Productivity using OneNote  Taking Control of Your Digital Resources with Schoology  Advantages of Being a Digitally Mobile Surface Pro Teacher in the Classroom
