May Day Studio began with a poster: a 1950s school holiday poster, uncovered in an antique shop in Berkeley, California. The four little girls, twirling merrily around a maypole, became the inspiration for the studio’s playful vintage aesthetic. Our decorative paper sheets are inspired by the natural world. Sketched after witnessing the devastation of Vermont’s landscape by Hurricane Irene in 2011, we were oored by the elds of attened crops, the amazing rocky paths of the rivers, and the gorgeous clear skies overhead.

Our papers are letterpress-printed from hand-carved linoleum in original patterns. 18” x 24” design is centered on 19” x 25” sheets of warm white recycled paper. Minimums: 6 flat sheets or two rolls per style. 10% of proceeds from the sale of our decorative paper is donated to the Vermont Disaster Relief Fund.
