Community & Partnerships

Community is at the heart of the Artward Bound experience. It is important for high school students to envision themselves as college students by participating in the life of the college. Students receive college IDs which provide access to the library, cafeteria, and the same classrooms where college students work, socialize, and learn. In their final summer, students have the opportunity to live in the dorms and take college-level classes through Youth Programs. Throughout their journey, they learn, grow, and collaborate with different departments and programs, such as experiencing exhibitions in the MassArt Art Museum (MAAM) or working as a teacher’s assistant in Youth Programs. They can also work with sparc! the ArtMobile, an initiative of MassArt’s Center for Art and Community Partnerships (CACP).
