Mariposa Upcycled Sails products are made from retired sails, making them durable and water resistant. All products are handcrafted and feature unique and stylish designs. We currently offer eight core products, all of which can be customized to best meet your organization’s needs. We can also create custom products. Mariposa Upcycled Sails is a project of The Mariposa DR Foundation, a non-profit organization educating and empowering girls in the Dominican Republic. Located in Cabarete, a small beach town on the northern coast with a thriving water-sports culture, Mariposa Upcycled Sails keeps retired sails and single-use plastic bags out of landfills and oceans, while creating jobs for local women and funding environmental education programs for girls at The Mariposa Center for Girls.
