Combining a passion for both superyachts and technology, the specialists at VBH believe that aligning technology with the lifestyle desired by owners achieves the best result. These skilled professionals are always looking for new and better ways for VBH clients to enjoy technology on their superyachts. Personalise your yacht When you have a passion, you want to appreciate the latest and the best equipment available. Ensuring the delivery of this premium

We mix a deep understanding of client needs with our knowledge of technology to create products that provide real benefits.

experience usually means accessing the most recent innovations, which are only available in limited quantities. Having access to such products is a luxury only few can afford. Creating a new superyacht offers a unique opportunity to design according to your desires. Your preferences and needs determine the size, functions, and layout, surrounded by the best and highest quality materials, equipment and, technology available. Generations of yacht builders have developed trusted ways of building. But with technologies changing so rapidly, the integration of this technology into a yacht means that the yacht building process and operation of a yacht has become an entire skill of its own.

Introducing new possibilities VBH designs integrated systems, matching luxury technology options with controlled ways of building. New features, functions or experiences are bound to have an impact on a well-thought-out building process. Using new possibilities requires re-thinking, educated guesses, and an element of uncertainty.

Without innovation, things stay the same. No one benefits when you obstruct progress and superyachts should guide the way towards a more desirable way of living. Yachts serve as a showcase of the ultimate in luxury, which is why they are always changing. Not everything onboard needs to be the latest and greatest. Different clients value different luxury aspects. Some enjoy solitude and concert-level audio. Others prefer watching movies with family or hosting big parties with friends. Whatever their pleasure, the technology should reflect their wishes.

Trends in entertainment systems Introducing new possibilities requires close collaboration between yard and technology professionals. Innovation at VBH is organised into technology domains and led by a team of system architects. They know all the latest trends in the superyacht industry and how to translate and integrate these onboard yachts. >>

The specialists at VBH believe that aligning technology with the lifestyle desired by owners achieves the best result.

Yacht owners and their teams rightly tend to prefer the newest and most advanced technologies – the biggest screens with the highest resolution and contrast, loudest speakers, most advanced lighting systems. They want the ultimate in luxury, which requires the most exclusive products in the world. Owners personalise their yachts using technology in different ways, including amazing outdoor cinemas, concert-hall quality sound systems, and a true club experience. Recent innovations include The Wall of Samsung, a modular micro-LED display that delivers a revolutionary viewing experience with pure black, true colour and Samsung’s AI picture enhancement.

Hardware integration – development of new VBH innovations Superyachts are unique in the sense that they have numerous systems that must all interact within a close-knit environment. Making sure all these products, possibilities, and systems are properly connected, fully integrated, and functioning as they should requires great skills. High-level AV and IT design must be combined with an excellent understanding of hardware integration within yacht interiors and outstanding user experience design. Having everything come together just right certainly is a specialist art. Here are some of the recent trends related to the integration of systems at VBH.

HTML5 VBH embraced HTML5 to develop its new user interface. This allows for a completely new userfriendly layout, which operates on almost all control devices and optimises the AV systems on superyachts of VBH clients.

Instant Airplay VBH has developed an Instant Airplay system that recognises all devices in rooms onboard. This technology is like an invisible cable that streams content (music/movies) from your device to a speaker or television.

A software-based connection One of the key challenges during any yacht build is that technology evolves as the yacht is being constructed. You do not want a new yacht with old technology. While systems used to be physically connected, software-based connections are now taking the lead and significantly enhancing system flexibility in the process. A flexible software-based backbone makes it easier to connect new hardware later on in the build. Framework 4 An example of a subtle change with an enormous impact is how everything is controlled onboard. Technology suppliers are constantly introducing new and evolving ways of automation, moving away from hardware to virtual machines. VBH designs and programs systems that are easy to install and deploy during the build process, offering owners and crew all the benefits without hindering the processes at the yard. To further ease this approach, the company has developed a unique way of programming systems with multiple programmers called FrameWork, which is currently in its fourth generation.

FrameWork allows VBH to pool programmers so they can build on each other’s programming. This is usually difficult as individual programmers have their own preferred method. FrameWork removes this obstacle and the programming is much cleaner and leaner, resulting in a fast and fluid control.
