Deliscious The Netherlands • Indoor farms • Lettuce Together with Deliscious, Certhon designed a revolutionary multilayer lettuce cultivation system with LED lights. The system allows Deliscious to grow own lettuce varieties in a short period of time on a year-round basis and with a constant and reliable quality. The operation indoor farm is fully automatic.

Rijk Zwaan Worldwide • More than 90 indoor farms A good, sustainable relationship is established with Rijk Zwaan from an unambiguous goal: being a precursor in the development and application of new technologies in indoor farming. Rijk Zwaan has the latest state of art facilities for its research activities, all over the world.

Beekenkamp plants The Netherlands • 8 indoor farms Control is most important for Beekenkamp Plants: In each of eight indoor farms it is possible to control humidity, CO2, temperature and light recipes in a fully uniform manner, tailored to the plants’ individual growth stages.

Corteva Agriscience USA • 4 indoor farms With the indoor farms, Corteva Agriscience achieve plant growing from a continuous and equal quality, after which the plants go to different researchers. The indoor farms consist entirely of stainless steel. Furthermore, all indoor farms are equipped with five layers with LED lighting, with the possibility to extend the number of layers to a maximum of ten. The water dosages are monitored and tracked.

Certhon Innovation Centre The Netherlands • 6 indoor farms Next to the headquarter in Poeldijk, Certhon has its own trial centre: the Certhon Innovation Centre. In the Innovation Centre, the cultivation method developed by Certhon for the daylight-free cultivation of vegetables, fruit and floriculture is optimized. In the facility with six indoor farms, continuous research is being done to develop thÊ cultivation system of the future. This includes crops such as strawberries, raspberries, tomatoes, herbs, cucumbers, peppers. The quality, uniformity and reliability of production are central to this.

Le Jardin de Rabelais France • 7.8 ha. SuprimAir • Tomatoes Thanks to the application of the SuprimAir technology in the greenhouse, Le Jardin de Rabelais can achieve year round production. The SuprimAir greenhouse is a unique concept: a system in which temperature and humidity can be controlled, so that the greenhouse climate can be managed to perfection. The combination of SuprimAir with LED toplighting, as applied at Le Jardin de Rabelais, results in a hypermodern greenhouse with a low energy consumption.

TKB Belogoriya Russia • 14 ha. greenhouse • Lettuce, cucumber The Russian media called the greenhouse of TKB Belogoriya “the most modern of Russia”, “a greenhouse that in terms of technology in Russia is unparalleled.” It consist of four blocks for growing cucumbers, the cultivation of young plants and growing lettuce with a fully automatic system. The greenhouse will annually provide one and a half million people with vegetables.

JongWouw The Netherlands • 1 ha. greenhouse • Strawberries Of the three locations where JongWouw grows strawberries, one greenhouse is equipped with HPS lighting. Vertifans ensure that the warm air from the lamps is distributed evenly over the crop.

Delphy The Netherlands • 1.1 ha. greenhouse The Delphy facilities are used for research into the latest techniques in horticulture. Leading horticulture companies carry out tests here with new crops/seeds and techniques. The facility is also used to provide training to students or new employees.

Magnit Russia • 40 ha. greenhouse • Cucumber Magnit, the largest retailer in Russia with the cultivation of cucumbers. This project underlines the ROI-key philosophy of Certhon: the project was designed, delivered and installed turnkey. Agronomic guidance was offered during, but also after the project.

Koppert Cress The Netherlands • 1.7 ha. greenhouse • Cress The JSK, a Certhon designed energy efficient cooling system, has been used by Koppert Cress. The JSK cooler extracts warm air from above the crop. Once this air has been cooled by the battery, it is blown under the crops. Thanks to the balanced blowing method, the cooled air is distributed evenly over the crop, resulting in a consistent horizontal and vertical distribution of the greenhouse climate.

Krason Poland • 3.7 ha. greenhouse • Young plants The greenhouse of Krason consists of six compartments and is fully equipped as a modern propagation greenhouse for young plants which are standing on a concrete floor. In the greenhouse there is a moveable heating system and all compartments are equipped with an ebb and flow system.

Ter Laak The Netherlands • 7.5 ha. Greenhouse • Orchids Sustainability and energy efficiency are paramount for Ter Laak Orchids. To achieve this, the JSK cooling system with extra powered JSK coolers are installed. Each JSK has an individual ventilation control, and temperatures can be set per cooler. As a result, the temperature can be controlled decentrally, resulting in an optimal climate.

Dube Trade Port South-Africa • 16 ha. greenhouse • Vegetables & plants Special in this project is that it is part of a larger overall project of the Government: educating of certain, by the government designated, minorities. The greenhouses are intended for local growers and large part of the work was carried out by local and regional staff. They are trained, educated and managed under the responsibility of supervisors.

Jeonbuk South-Korea • 2.4 ha. greenhouse • Peppers A fully integrated greenhouse which has been applied with a sustainable heating system. By application of a heat pump system the greenhouse can both be heated and cooled. This low grade heat is also used for the double growth pipe heating system. This results in a perfect climate control.

Kietaviskiu Lithuania • 10 ha. greenhouse • Lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber The greenhouse is divided in three compartments: 5 hectares tomatoes, 2.5 hectares cucumbers and about 2.5 hectares lettuce. For the 2.5 hectares where lettuce will be grown, a high-tech automated hydroponic greenhouse is realized with a fully automatic lettuce system.

EVG England • 5.8 ha. greenhouse • Tomatoes During the multiple years of cooperation, various greenhouse projects have been realized, different from a turnkey greenhouse to a greenhouse with hybrid LED lighting.

Westland Nurseries England • 1.4 ha. greenhouse • Lettuce Westland Nurseries, UK largest grower of micro leaves and specialty edibles build a fully automated lettuce greenhouse. The system into the glasshouse is a mobile gutter system. In the roof, an energy screen with a hybrid lighting system is placed to help the year-round production.

Schkölen Germany • 9 ha. greenhouse • Tomatoes Schkölen uses a sustainable and effective application of technology The entire heating system is powered by low-grade heat from the nearby wood burning power plant.

St Davids hydroponics Canada • 18.7 ha. greenhouse • Peppers The greenhouse measures more than eighteen hectares and is fully equipped for the cultivation of various kinds of peppers. Special about this project is that the greenhouse is fully covered with diffused glass.

Jiangsu Greenport China • 1 ha. greenhouse The greenhouse Jiangsu Greenport consist of eight departments, all with different applications. It is used for the demonstration of modern horticultural techniques and as a training center for Chinese growers.

Stokman Kenya • 1.5 ha. greenhouse • Roses The greenhouse of Stokman Roses is heated up by SanSolar, Certhon’s innovative solar panels. The solar panels are able to heat up water to a higher temperature than existing solar panels for horticultural application; an unique aspect of the system.

Pure Harvest Smart Farms UAE • 1 ha. greenhouse • Tomatoes Pure Harvest Smart Farms is the first to implement the SuprimAir technology in the Gulf Region. With the use of the semi-closed greenhouse in the desert of Abu Dhabi, the product will become year-round available for the local market in UAE.

Felgentreu Germany • 10 ha. greenhouse • Cucumbers The heating of the cucumber greenhouse of Felgentreu is 100% powered by a biogas installation; a sustainable and energy-saving solution.

Citronex Poland • 61 ha. greenhouse • Tomatoes Citronex is one of the largest tomato growers in Poland. In the two locations, with a total of more than 60 hectares, different varieties are produced. The energy supply and lighting are provided by the waste heat of a power station. In the large processing area, the products are sorted and packaged customer ready.

Oserian Kenya • 50 ha. greenhouse • Roses Oserian is using a heating system for roses, based on a geothermal heat source. It is the largest project worldwide where this type of heating technique is used. This form of heating ensures an increase in production and quality of the roses. Because CO2 is also being extracted from the soil, further use of fossil fuels is not necessary.
