OTOÑO en Madrid Empieza una nueva temporada en Madrid en todos los sentidos: los teatros renuevan sus carteleras, en especial los musicales. Museos y galerías anuncian su nuevo calendario de exhibiciones y el deportivo cambia con la nueva temporada de fútbol o baloncesto. Son sólo algunos ejemplos de lo que el otoño nos depara.

Empieza el curso 2014/15 y con ello se renueva gran parte de la oferta turística de la capital, varios hoteles de la capital han renovado sus habitaciones durante este verano, el final del verano también trae la llegada de las colecciones de invierno a las tiendas de la ciudad y las terrazas y cartas de verano en los restaurantes dejan paso a otras costumbres más invernales como un buen chocolate con churros.

En este reportaje hemos resumido lo mejor que trae la llegada el otoño a Madrid, una de las mejores épocas para visitar la capital si lo que quiere es huir del caluroso verano y evitar el frío invierno. Es sin duda la mejor temporada para visitar la ciudad.

OTOÑO en madrid Las temperaturas medias históricas durante noviembre y diciembre en la capital oscilan entre los 12 grados en Noviembre y los 9 grados de Diciembre. Veremos las primeras lluvias de la temporada, sobre todo después de un mes de octubre muy venébolo. No será necesario que utilice ropa de abrigo en exceso, pero sí que venga preparado para la posible aparición de las lluvias y el viento. En cualquier caso las predicciones más fiables siempre pueden consultarte en el mismo día.

Si el tiempo le acompaña aproveche para disfrutarlo paseando por la ciudad. Probablemente no haya nada más agradable que pasear por Madrid sin que sufra los excesos de otras estaciones. El Retiro, el parque más importante de la ciudad, empezará a cambiar el color verde por tonos marrones y amarillos con la caída de las hojas.

Pasear por la ciudad le permitirá ver Madrid a pleno ritmo. Durante los meses de julio, agosto y septiembre, gran parte de los madrileños aprovechan sus vacaciones de verano para disfrutar de un viaje, marchar a sus localidades de origen o pasar unos días en la playa. Es ahora cuando

“La oferta de ocio se renueva totalmente en Madrid para Otoño, sobre todo en los teatros” la ciudad se encuentra a pleno rendimiento.

Si el tiempo decide jugarle una mala pasada no se preocupe. La oferta de Madrid le permitirá olvidarse de la lluvia, si ese fuera el caso. Lo mejor es que disfrute de alguno de los numerosos museos de nuestra ciudad. Todos conocen el Prado, el Reina Sofía o el Thyssen, pero hay muchos más, y como le detallaremos a continuación, hay exposiciones preparadas para estos días que puede consultar en la sección “Este mes”. Otra posibilidad es ir al teatro y disfrutar de una representación o un buen musical.

La cartelera de ocio se renueva totalmente cuando llega otoño. A primera vista lo que más destaca es la llegada a la Gran Vía de espectáculos consolidados, como “El Rey León” que una temporada más se representará en el Teatro Lope de Vega (Gran Vía, 57). El Nuevo Teatro Alcalá (C/ Jorge Juan, 62) estrena una nueva producción: “Priscilla, reina del desierto”. En el teatro: “Olivia y Eugenio” en el Teatro Bellas Artes (C/ Marqués Casa de Riera, 2) marca el regreso de Concha Velasco a los escenarios.

Los grandes museos también nos ofrecen

exposiciones como “Impresionismo Americano” en el Thyssen.

Destaca también la organizada por la Fundación Mapfre en torno a Sorolla. El paso de este pintor por América y su influencia en el nuevo continente. Se inaugura a finales de Septiembre en la Sala Recoletos.

Desde no hace mucho también se han iniciado las competiciones deportivas más atractivas. En el caso de Madrid destaca el fútbol y muy especialmente esta temporada con Real Madrid y Atlético de Madrid jugando la Champions League y al máximo nivel en la Liga española. Otros dos equipos madrileños juegan en Primera división (Rayo Vallecano y Getafe). Si lo que le gusta es el baloncesto también puede visitar el Palacio de los Deportes y presenciar alguno de los partidos de Real Madrid de Baloncesto o el Club Estudiantes.

Si lo suyo son las compras no olvide echar un vistazo a nuestra sección de compras, en ella encontrará lo que Madrid tiene que ofrecerle si quiere dedicar tiempo a renovar su fondo de armario o conocer las colecciones de ropa de los diseñadores españoles o de las más prestigiosas firmas internacionales. Y aprovechando su visita a Madrid… entre compra y compra, antes de ir a algún partido de fútbol o después de visitar algún museo… no olvide disfrutar de uno de los mejores atractivos de nuestra ciudad: nuestra gastronomía.

Las tapas son los productos que más suelen llamar la atención de los visitantes extranjeros, pero nosotros queremos invitarles a disfrutar de un producto muy típico de nuestra ciudad: con la llegada del frío, o en días lluviosos, no hay nada más reconfortante que un buen chocolate con churros en alguna de los típicos bares o cafeterías repartidos por nuestra ciudad.

En definitiva la capital no se para con la llegada del otoño.

Todo lo contrario, se reactiva la oferta turística en todos los sentidos: compras, ocio, cultura, parques, conciertos, … no va a tener tiempo de disfrutar de todo lo que Madrid tiene que ofrecerle. Nosotros le proponemos, de nuevo, que se siente en alguna cafetería y disfrute un chocolate con churros, si es que necesita un descanso entre 7 tantos planes. Disfrute de Madrid.

MADRID EN UN FIN DE SEMANA MADRID IN A WEEKEND O lo que es lo mismo: ¿qué ver en Madrid en dos días? esa es una de las grandes preguntas que nos llegan a Madrid Irresistible por parte de aquellos que quieren visitar Madrid y conocer los lugares, monumentos, museos, etc imprescindible en su escapada para hacer turismo por la capital.

Si vas a estar 2 ó 3 días paseando por la capital nuestra propuesta no puede empezar en otro sitio que el llamado “Paseo del Arte”.

En realidad su nombre es Paseo del Prado y va desde Atocha a Neptuno, reuniendo en apenas 750 metros tres museos impresdindibles: El Prado, el Reina Sofía y el Thyssen. No son los únicos atractivos culturales, en la zona también está CaixaForum y si es amante de la naturaleza, el Jardín Botánico o el Retiro están muy cerca.

Prácticamente en el mismo lugar puede iniciar una ruta cultural por el Barrio de las Letras, visite las calles Huertas y Prado, el Congreso de los Diputados, y la Plaza de Santa Ana. Aproveche y tome alguna tapa en los locales cercanos.

Casi sin darse cuenta habrá llegado a la Puerta del Sol, centro neurálgico de la ciudad. Desde este lugar puede empezar cualquier ruta, una histórica adentrándose en el Madrid de los Austrias, por las calles Arenal o Mayor, visitando la Plaza de la Villa, la Plaza Mayor, el Teatro Real y terminando en el Palacio Real . No olvide visitar las plazas y jardines que rodean el Palacio o la Catedral de la Almudena.

Si tiene hambre, puede visitar el Mercado de San Miguel, y sus calles adyacentes o incluso bajar un poco más hasta el barrio de La Latina.

Otro recorrido que puede iniciar desde la Puerta del Sol es el de las calles Preciados o Carmen, hasta la Gran Vía, y contemplar el Madrid más contemporáneo, las tiendas de moda y los barrios más alternativos: Malasaña, Chueca. Baje hasta Cibeles, y siga hasta la Puerta de Alcalá aquí también puede adentrarse en las zonas más clásicas y las tiendas de moda más cotizada en el barrio de Salamanca.

No nos queremos dejar atrás otro recorrido desde la Gran Vía, este hacia la Plaza de España y luego hacia el Parque del Oeste donde, probablemente quede sorprendido por algo que no se espera: un templo egipcio instalado en el centro de Madrid, y por cierto, con unas vistas maravillosas hacia el oeste.

Perfecto para la puesta de sol.

What to see in Madrid in two days?

That is one of the main questions that we receive from visitors here in Madrid Irresistible. Madrid has plenty of activities and places to be visited: monuments , museums, on walk tours, parks, shopping places, etcetera.

People usually spend 2 or 3 days walking through the capital so our proposal is to start your visit at the known area of : “Paseo del Arte” . Actually its name is Paseo del Prado and it goes from Atocha to Neptuno , just a 750 meters walk where the three great museums of the city are located: Prado , Reina Sofia and Thyssen . They are not the only cultural attractions of the area, where you can also find CaixaForum, or in case you love nature: the Botanical Garden and “El Retiro” are very close.

Quite close to the great museums, you may continue your visit with our cultural route. through the Barrio de las Letras , go along Huertas and Prado streets , see the Spanish Parlament, and stop by Plaza de Santa Ana and in case you are hungry enjoy any of the tapas at the restaurants around.

Almost without realizing of it… you have reached the Puerta del Sol , the heart of the city. From here you can start any route , a historic walk into the Madrid de los Austrias , by Mayor and Arenal streets , visiting Plaza de la Villa , Plaza Mayor, the Royal Theatre and ending at the Royal Palace. Be sure to visit the squares and gardens surrounding the Palace and the Almudena Cathedral .

If you’re hungry now , do not doubt it: Mercado de San Miguel is your place, but also all the streets around offer a wide variety of Spanish gastronomy. If you are a gastronomy lover: go dowh to “La Latina “ district.

Another route that can be started from the Puerta del Sol is going up at Preciados or Carmen streets towards the Gran Via. This is the modern Madrid, with trendy shops, and alternative neighborhoods such as Malasaña or Chueca (gay district). Go down the Gran Vía until you reach the Cibeles square, and then the Puerta de Alcalá, a perfect place to go shopping around at the Barrio de Salamanca. Serrano is the Street for those who want the last fashion designs.

We do not want to make you miss the opportunity to go to the other side of the Gran Vía, and go down towards Plaza de España and then visit Parque del Oeste, a big park where you will find an unexpected monument: an Egyptian temple just in the center of Madrid, and by the way, with great views to the west.

ESTE MES THIS MONTH FERRÁN ADRIÁ: AUDITANDO EL PROCESO CREATIVO El maestro cocinero Ferrán Adriá propone un espacio reflexivo para echar una mirada a los años de creación en su restaurante elBulli. Numerosos objetos del restaurante junto con apuntes, dibujos, … tienen la intención de hacernos pensar que hay detrás del proceso creativo.

MUSEO THYSSEN-BORNEMISZA Paseo del Prado, 8 Banco de España 9€ (6.5 € reducida/reduced) 10:00 – 19:00 (lunes/Mondays 12:00 – 16:00) IMPRESIONISMO AMERICANO EN EL THYSSEN Primera ocasión para ver en España las obras fruto de la expansión del impresionismo por Norteamérica. Sesenta trabajos realizados entre 1880 y 1900 de pintores como Cassatt o Sargent que llegaron a vivir en Francia y mantuvieron contacto con Degas o Monet, pero también de autores que desarrollaron el impresionismo en Norteamérica. El estudio de las obras de los impresionistas franceses así como los viajes que realizaron al viejo continente ayudan e estos autores a aprender la técnica impresionista de primera mano. Fruto de ese aprendizaje el movimiento impresionista logró extenderse por América donde fue asimilado por los artistas que hoy podemos contemplar en el Thyssen-Bornemisza.

FERRÁN ADRIA: AUDITING THE CREATIVE PROCESS Never before exhibited works shown for the first time.

The master chef Ferrán Adriá offers a reflective space to take a look at the formative years at his restaurant elBulli. Numerous items from his restaurant, notes, drawings, ... are showed intending to make us think what is behind the creative process.

Visiting the exhibition allow the visitor to follow the steps of innovation and all its ramifications with a clear intention to map the creative process and their endless lists of questions that include everything to challenge us to face ourselves not only with the brain of Adria , but with our own. www.fundaciontelefonica.com

For the first time in Spain an exhibition of North American Impressionist works. Sixty works created between 1880 and 1900 by painters such as Cassatt and Sargent who came to live in France and maintained contact with Degas or Monet, but also authors who developed Impressionism in America.

The study of works of the French Impressionists and trips to Europe helped these authors to learn Impressionist technique. The result of that learning allowed the Impressionist movement succeeded extending around America where it was used by the paintings of artists that are now displayed in the Thyssen - Bornemisza museum.

Esta exposición, que ya ha recorrido gran parte de EE.UU. da prueba de la popularidad que el pintor valenciano tuvo en Norteamérica, donde cosechó éxitos durante sus exposiciones, patrocinadas por la Hispanic Society of America. Sus escenas de patios, jardines o playas, así como su faceta como retratista influyeron en la sociedad y coleccionistas privados estadounidenses, hasta tal punto que llegó a pintar al, por entonces, presidente de los Estados Unidos, William Howard Taft.

SOROLLA IN AMERICA Never before exhibited works shown for the first time thanks to American collectors and the contribution of the Meadows Foundation and the San Diego Museum of Art. This exhibition has already toured much of the United States showing the popularity that Sorolla had in North America where garnered success during its exhibitions sponsored by the Hispanic Society of America.

His scenes of courtyards, gardens and beaches as well as his work as a portraitist influenced the American society and American private collectors, to the point that he even painted a portrait of the President of the United States, by then, William Howard Taft. www.fundacionmapfre.org

AUTUMN IN MADRID With the advent of Autumn begins a new season in Madrid in every way : theaters renew their billboards , introducing new musicals and plays. Museums and art galleries announce their new schedule of exhibitions and the sport calendar is renewed with new football or basketball season. These are just some examples of what Fall brings.

With the arrival of the 2014/15 season many attractions of the capital appear renewed.

Several hotels in the city have renewed their rooms during Summer. Fall also brings the arrival of Winter collections at stores and shopping streets and summer terraces and menus in restaurants give way to other typical dishes of colder days. Do not miss the opportunity to taste a Spanish hot chocolate with churros .

In this report we have summarized it all and write about what Madrid offers you during Autumn. By the way, one of the best times to visit the city if you want to avoid the Summer heat and prevent the Cold winter. Of course, keep in mind that 13 fall is the rainiest time of the year in Madrid.

autumn in MADRID Weather: historical average temperatures during November are around 12OC (55OF) while Daround 12 degrees (55 Fahrenheit) while December’s clime make temperaturas go down: an average of 9 degrees (48 Fahrenheit). El Retiro , the largest park in the city , is changing the green color leaves for other tones: yellow and brown, as leaves start to fall.

Madrid is full of life at this time of the year. During July , August and September , most locals use their Summer vacation to enjoy a trip , go to their home towns or spend a few days at the beach . But is November when the city is at it full capacity.

While the Lope de Vega Theatre (Gran Vía, 57) host “The Lion King”, four years of success of this Disney Musical show.

Museums at the “Mile of Art” also offer great exhibits.

Among all, stands out the one organized by ThyssenBornemisza: American Impresionism or Fundación Mapfre’s one showing Sorolla’s work in America is showed for the first time in Spain at the Sala Recoletos (Paseo de Recoletos, 23): a “must visit” if you are in Madrid.

Sports: Spanish Primera Division of football has initiated its regular season with four teams from Madrid fighting for the winner title. Real Madrid and Atletico the Madrid will also play the matches of Europe’s Champions League. But if you are a basketball lover, do not hesitate to visit the matches of Real Madrid Basketball or Club Estudiantes: the Palacio de los Deportes host both teams matches.

The quality and variety of its collection makes the Prado one of the world’s best-endowed museums. It combines a first-class collection of Spanish painting, the most important works of the Flemish and Italian schools, and various fine examples of the German, French and English schools. Palacio ReaL

El Palacio Real de Madrid fue construido en el siglo XVIII, por orden de Felipe V, sobre un antiguo castillo musulmán. La planta es cuadrada con un gran patio central. Los jardines adyacentes son otro de los atractivos del palacio, así como todas sus fachadas. Existe un debate a la hora de enmarcarlo en un estilo, unos se inclinan más por el barroco y otros por el neoclásico.

Madrid’s Royal Palace was built in the 18th century, by order of Philip V, on the site of the old Moorish castle.

It has a square floor plan with a large central courtyard.

The surrounding gardens are among the Palace’s other attractions, as well as its several different facades. There some debate as to its artistic style; it is thought by some experts to belong more to the Baroque, and by others to the Neo-classical style.

Uno de los mayores museos de arte contemporáneo del mundo.La colección permanente cuenta con obras de Nonell, Anglada Camarasa, Iturrino, Zuloaga, Solana y María Blanchard, entre otros pintores españoles de inicios del siglo XX; el movimiento cubista, Picasso, Dalí, Miró. The Reina Sofia is one of the largest contemporary art museums in the world today. HISTORIA:IMPRESCINDIBLE HISTORY: MUST SEE Puerta del Sol Es el centro neurálgico de Madrid. En este lugar, kilómetro cero de las carreteras de España, han sucedido multitud de acontecimientos históricos. Son de interés la figura del Oso y el Madroño, o la estatua ecuestre de Carlos III. Esta plaza de Madrid está muy vinculada a la tradición de comer doce uvas, una por cada campanada, durante la noche del 31 de diciembre.

Puerta del Sol is one of the nerve centres of Madrid. This site, “kilometre zero” from which all radial roads out of Madrid start, has witnessed many different historical events. Plaza de España is one of the largest squares in the city and placed where the Gran Via ends. Right in the center stands a monument to Miguel de Cervantes. Madrid is a hospitable, open city, and this characteristic is also reflected in the cooking. In the streets of Madrid you will find establishments specialising in regional cuisine from all over Spain.

This is the case, for example, on the Paseo de la Gastronomía (Gastronomy Route). This is a large area at the Casa de Campo Exhibition Centre. The Casa de Campo is Madrid’s largest green area, with ten restaurants situated in buildings that are replicas of Spain’s traditional, emblematic regional architecture. Here you can enjoy the best Mediterranean cuisine, as well as typical dishes from Galicia, Asturias and the Basque Country, surrounded by gardens, with a play area for the little ones.

Por eso, además de ser el área preferida por el colectivo gay y transexual, cada vez son más los que salen por estas calles para vivir la noche.

En verano, tienes que visitar las terrazas de los alrededores de la plaza de Chueca, que siempre tienen buen ambiente. Y, por supuesto, si quieres conocer todo cuanto te ofrece la ciudad de Madrid más abierta, visítala durante la celebración del Orgullo Gay (última semana de junio). Durante esos días hay conciertos y espectáculos en la calle y tiene lugar el desfile de carrozas y disfraces, que inunda la zona de banderas del arco iris.

Chueca area, where all inhibitions have been cast aside to make way for fun and tolerance, and where you’ll find a whole host of wicked venues, techno discos and designer clubs. In fact this neighbourhood has always been a beacon of modernity, and was the birthplace of the famous “movida madrileña” (a countercultural movement of the 70s and 80s). And as well as being the favourite hangout of the gay and transsexual community, the streets in this area are becoming more and more popular with anyone looking for first-rate nightlife.

In summer, it’s well worth visiting the outdoor terraces in the surroundings of the Plaza de Chueca square, where you’re always guaranteed to find a great atmosphere. And of course if you want to see for yourself everything that’s on offer in this most openly tolerant of cities, why not visit Madrid during Gay Pride Week (last week of June)? The event features open air concerts and shows, as well as a parade of floats and fancy dress, while the whole area is awash 44 with rainbow flags.

Hoy nos hemos dispuesto revelar el secreto que se esconde tras ellos, frases que nos hacen detenernos en pasos de peatones por toda la ciudad y que nos invitan a reflexionar a la vez que nos llenan de positivismo.

“VERSOS SUELTOS” “BLANK VERSES” Detrás de estas frases no está ninguna institución educativa, cultural o de carácter público. Se trata de una iniciativa tras la que, al parecer, se encuentra un colectivo llamado “Boa Mistura”.

Lo cierto es que el colectivo no ha reivindicado su autoría, quizás más por miedo a que las autoridades persigan esta iniciativa con la ley, pero la realidad les señala: desde su propia página web hablan de la iniciativa a la que han titulado “Te comería a versos”.

Detrás de “Boa Mistura” hay cinco jóvenes madrileños, formados en diferentes disciplinas (arquitectura, bellas artes, publicidad e ingeniería) que por si fuera poco, han contado con los músicos Leyva y Rayden (A3Bandas) para dar promoción a su proyecto. De sus canciones han salido las frases que ahora podemos leer en los pasos de peatones.

Boa Mistura se autodefine como un colectivo multidisciplinar nacido en Madrid a finales de 2001. Lo forman un grupo de amigos que se conocieron a los 15 años y que tienen en Madrid su sede. Su objetivo es transformar la calle y convertirla en una herramienta que relacione el espacio público con las personas. Bajo esta premisa han desarrollado su último trabajo “Te comería a versos” en Madrid.

“Te comería a versos” es una iniciativa formada por 22 frases repartidas por todo el centro de Madrid Tienen su origen en el grafiti y desarrollan sus acciones por todo el mundo pero con un denominador común: trabajar en espacios públicos. Con esa idea han decorado a su manera espacios públicos en París, Belgrado, Berlín, Ciudad del Cabo, São Paulo, Argel, Ciudad de Panamá… y por supuesto…

Madrid, donde no es la primera vez que desarrollan su obra, normalmente llena de colorido (aunque no esta vez) y con un denominador común: jugar con las palabras y remover conciencias.

En total, 22 versos repartidos por el centro de Madrid con frases que no nos dejarán indiferentes.

TThere is no educational, cultural or public institution behind these phrases. It is an initiative after which, apparently, is a group of people called “Boa Mistura”.

The truth is that “Boa Mistura” has not claimed responsibility over this work, perhaps fearing the authorities as they may pursue this initiative and denounce it as vandalism. They find their origin in graffiti and now they develop their actions throughout the world with a common denominator: to work in public spaces. They have decorated public spaces in Paris, Belgrade, Berlin, Cape Town, São Paulo, Algiers, Panama City ... and of course... Madrid, the city where they have developed most of their work. In Madrid, football fans can live their dream by visiting a legendary football pitch, and for the first time, Real Madrid changing rooms, where you could sit on the bench as though you were about to manage a game. You can do all this in the Santiago Bernabeu stadium, where other options include witnessing spectacular matches, visiting the trophy rooms and enjoying a meal overlooking the pitch.
