CARE Ambassadors

Mrs Sylvia Fay

This year the Care Ambassadors have been blessed with many learning experiences and opportunities to bring a smile to someone’s face. Throughout the year we have been nudged to step out of our comfort zone by the lovely Mrs Fay, Mackay Christian College’s youth support counsellor, who has helped us in running a range of activities through which we have learned many life skills.

This year we have worked with the tremendous help of Mrs Fay to instil our College Values of Christlikeness, Attitude, Respect and Excellence while running a range of programs. On Bullying, No Way Day, we encouraged fellow students to wear odd socks on the National Day of Action Against Bullying and Violence. On RUOK? Day we were so grateful to bless our fellow students by working with our Year 12 cohort to provide them with cupcakes in exchange for an uplifting note to a primary school student which helped us to promote mental health and wellbeing. We have also really enjoyed funding and communicating with MCC’s compassion child, Charith, who lives in Columbia. Unfortunately, like last year, due to COVID-19 restrictions we were not able to visit the residents of Resthaven, but we explored new ways of supporting the Resthaven nursing home.

Thankfully, this year we have also been collecting donations and funding to provide children in developing nations with gift-filled shoeboxes and bringing the Good News of Jesus Christ through Operation Christmas Child.

We as the Care Ambassadors would like to thank everyone, especially Mrs Fay, for their support throughout this year.

We wish the Care Ambassadors for 2022 the very best and encourage them to make the best of this amazing opportunity.
