WELCOME TO THE 2021 PORTLAND BOOK FESTIVAL This year’s Portland Book Festival will look like no year before—or after! We are excited to present a unique hybrid event. Tune in at PDXBookFest.org the week of November 8–12 for livestreamed events. Authors will be joining us from across the country, and we’ll be broadcasting live from literary locations across Portland. You can enjoy podcast-only discussions on The Archive Project, and on-demand events for children. And we are absolutely thrilled to be returning to Portland Art Museum and Portland’5 for in-person events on Saturday, November 13. We can’t wait to see you in the audience watching authors in conversation; stumbling on a pop-up reading in the galleries; enjoying treats from the food carts; wandering the book fair; and being together, again, celebrating books and storytelling. Don’t forget to share your Festival experiences, in all formats, with #PDXBookFest. We’ll see you there! Happy reading,

THERE ARE TWO WAYS TO ENJOY THE PORTLAND BOOK FESTIVAL THIS YEAR: VIRTUAL FESTIVAL November 8–12, 2021

IN-PERSON FESTIVAL November 13, 2021

Andrew Proctor Executive Director

Amanda Bullock Director of Public Programs

Dear Festival attendees, The Portland Book Festival is an enduring community enrichment event. We are returning as the presenting sponsor of this year’s virtual programming because Bank of America believes in the power of the arts and community partnerships, like Literary Arts, to help economies thrive and to educate and enrich societies while creating greater cultural understanding. Literature and the art of storytelling eliminates barriers and unites people across cultures, experiences, and ideas. We applaud their efforts as this event draws us together in a way that is essential to the wellbeing of our city’s economy and communities. This is how we build a better future for all. Thank you for joining us.

Roger Hinshaw President, Oregon & SW Washington Bank of America

Portland Book Festival is a program of Literary Arts, a community-based nonprofit located in downtown Portland with a 37-year history of serving Oregon’s readers and writers. Our mission is to engage readers, support writers, and inspire the next generation with great literature. INSTITUTIONAL SUPPORT
