BOWL made from corian I chose an experimental way how to show corian´s exclusivity. My goal was to create every single piece as an original one. In products which are made for example of wood there is always a different pattern. The shape of these bowls was made by vacuum technology. The cooling bowl for champagne is inspired by geode with crystals in it. The surface is covered by special glue for corian and placed by glass brash. The second bowl looks like it is deformed by metal which was filled inside. I have made a lot of experiments with corian and molten metal. I think it could be a new approach of shaping corian. STREET FURNITURE for Prague Each capital city has some typical characteristic. Cubism in architecture is the worldwide curiosity of Czech republic especially Prague. I think we should be proud of our history. Modern street furniture or modern architecture could contain some detailed elements inspired by past. Main signs of Cubism in my proposal are for example a crystal structure and sharp edges. Final work, AAAD Cooperation: mmcitĂŠ

ALBUM COVER of limited and signed edition for singer František Segrado, with lyrics by Michal Horáček Inside the handmade envelope signed by both authors (singer František Segrado and lyricist Michal Horáček) 11 cards are hidden. Each of them contains lyrics of certain song and illustration expressing its meaning. The size of cards and the way of displaying illustrations reference to tarot. Therefore the singer is becoming a narrator telling his stories throughout the songs. Cooperation: Michal Horáček, KUDYKAM s.r.o. Teamwork: Markéta Mášová

POCKET KNIFE The task was to redesign one of the czech design icons. It is a pocket knife made by company Mikov. Because of the shape the name is „The Fish“. It was really inexpensive and therefore common thing in the age of our parents. But nowadays it is a bit forgotten. So we tried to refresh it. Our new proposal is connected with water element same as the original one. Our design is based on the shape of a pebbles which are created by nature and fits perfectly to the hand. Materials: pebbles, hardened steel, brass Semestral work, AAAD in Prague Teamwork: Monika Matějková Exhibitions: FISHBLADE, Czech center, New York, 2014 Point of view, SALONE del Mobile, Milano, 2014 FISHBLADE, MKG Hamburg, 2013

BASALT URN …the end becomes the beginning The outer part of the urn is made of cast basalt. This material has incredible features and is said to last forever. That is why it is ideal for preserving the memory of a deceased person. The ash is placed in the inner part, which has been constructed from blown glass. The name and the date of death can be inscribed. The urn is designed as an interior sculpture. It is 11.8 inches long and 7.8 inches tall. It has the shape of an egg, symbolizing the connection between life and death, between the beginning and the end. Another contrast is the black color of the basalt and the grey ash. The urn may be set in two positions: First, the “closed” position - the basalt parts connected together with a glass ball that creates a lock and the, “opened” position - the ash of a deceased person is visible in the uncovered glass sphere. The main idea of my work is that we don’t have to be ashamed of death. Quite the contrary, we can celebrate the memory of ones that we loved every day and keep them in our hearts. I was trying to put an aspect of honesty and opened mindedness in questions surrounding death and dying into my cast basalt urn. Final work, CTU in Prague, Studio of prof. ak. soch. BASALT VASE After designing a basalt urn I continued working with this material. This time, a natural stone has been used as a contrast to the cast basalt. After a research, I ended up using a stone from a quarry in the Czech Republic, which is the only one in the Central Europe, where it still exists in the form of basalt columns. I created unique monolithic vases from these segments, they were approached more like a sculptures than ordinary vases. Large parts of the ocean floor are made up of the basaltic igneous rock. I was fascinated by the connection of cold inanimateness and life-giving water. Final work, CTU in Prague, Studio of prof. ak. soch. Marian Karel Cooperation: WEISS Lom Soutěsky

NIKE DESIGNBLOK ´13 The main idea of our instalation is preseting Nike, Inc. to the customers/visitors as a brand with sports equipments even into climatically unfavorable conditions. To show that products of Nike may offer maximal comfort while exercising in an extreme conditions. After studying climatic elements we have decided that the best way how to express this issue is winter and snow. So we came out with an idea of an avalanche as a symbol of unbounded energy, dynamics, explosiveness overcoming all obstacles. And the same features are typical for sportsmen. No matter if they are professionals or amateurs. No matter if it is the World Cup or just a practice. They all have same goal. Sports passion. They want to enjoy the action under any conditions. The avalanche is for us a symbol of Nike’s philosophy. And finally winter and snow refer to Olympic Winter Games in Sochi. Semestral work, AAAD in Prague, 2013 Teamwork: Roman Kvita

ROCKING „DEAR“ Sweatheart of every child, that is what rocking deer will easily become. Project originates from study of natural products, more concretely a chestnut tree. At first I made a clay model, then I casted the model in gypsum and eventually I did stylizations from wood and metal. My inspiration to design a rocking deer came from the typical tradition of making an animals from chestnuts in the fall. Altogether with the use of classic horsehair mattrace from school gym I have created an original rocking deer. Final work, AAAD

LONGBOARD for downhill I designed new board for racing longboard for downhill in 2012. I was cooperating with the professional longboard racers while I was constructing the shape of the board. The board is made from carbon and reinforced by foamy nukleus. This is the best way how to get the ultimate lightness and hardness at once. The company has already started with production and it has become very popular among the professional czech racers. However Pig board is unique piece with a graphics inspired by Porschem 917-20 Pink Pig from 70 th. Other longboards are produced without the graphics due to lower prices. I designed a longboard cover as well. The cover is protecting users dress from demage and it is a great spot for advertisement. Bachelor´s thesis, CTU in Prague, Studio of doc. ak. soch. NOTEBOOK COOLING PAD Almost everyone uses computers these days. Many devices suffers from bad cooling, so they overheat and get damaged. I was trying to come up with a solution to prevent this as much as I can. The cooling pad SNAKE is made from aluminium, which conducts heat well. Wavy shape also enables suction of air. Thanks to the mild slope of the pad, you can work the keyboard more easily. Final work, CTU in Prague, Studio of doc. ak. soch. Alexius Appl

TEA BAG PACKAGE Proposal of a cover for competition „Young package“ at the category „National Product“ with a special theme “Tea”. The flat paper container in which is the tea bag stored can be, after opening, folded into a origami boat, that we place on the top of the cup. The boat ensures that paper part doesn’t fall into the cup. We use the boat also for pulling out the tea bag and for an easy removal when the tea is done.

The Aurora is a concept of modern children’s outdoor playground. It emphasizes not only the physical activity of children, but also supports their imagination, motor skills and knowledge. Fibreglass igloo shaped playhouse with a colored plexiglass wind shutters is dominating element of the playground. Sunshine passing through the wind shutters is making magical atmosphere inside the igloo thanks to the rainbow light show. The windows are not only aesthetic and educational but also have security character. Parents have their children under supervision all the time. Further addiction to the Aurora concept are seats, roundabout, swing and spring rocker all of them in the uniform style.
