We have 41 parks on 1,400 acres in our Parks Department inventory. We’ve got another 1,200 acres in various forms of preservation and recreation held by the BI Land Trust. Yet Proposition 1 would have us add to that acreage by taxing us to pay for a 450% premium on 22 acres with an assessed value of just $1.8 million dollars. In fact, further up Hwy 305 across from NE Seabold is a 2.3 acre forested parcel of land for sale for $115,000 or $50,000 per acre.
Let’s get our fiscal priorities straight: ■ Fire Department Bonds? ■ Police Department Bonds? ■ Public School Levies?
….so let’s say NO to this bad deal.
