ECURE YOUR PROPERTY. Have all unsecured windows, doors, and S openings boarded up to protect your belongings and to protect you from liability. In some cases, roof tarps or a temporary fence may be necessary. Coast provides 24/7/365 emergency response services to handle these tasks. ILE A CLAIM WITH YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY. Most insurance F companies maintain 24-hour centers for claims reporting. It is your responsibility to file your claim and you should do so immediately. We can help guide you through this process. For your convenience, contact numbers for the major insurance carriers are listed on the back of this brochure.
F IND TEMPORARY HOUSING. Most insurance policies provide coverage for temporary housing if your property is uninhabitable. You should make arrangements to stay in a hotel for the first few days. After that, your insurance company will usually help you find a more comfortable and long-term arrangement.

UNDERSTAND THE CLAIMS PROCESS. The claims process can be long, difficult and confusing. The more you understand the easier it will be. Coast can work with your insurance adjuster to make sure the scope of work and estimates are thorough, accurate and complete. The initial payment of your claim will be based on your adjuster’s estimate, but you won’t receive your final payment until the job is done. If you hold a mortgage on your property, your mortgage company will hold your claim proceeds and release them as repairs progress. This can be a very timeconsuming process, and Coast has a specialist on staff who can handle this work for you. HOOSE A CONTRACTOR. You will need to choose a general contractor C to complete repairs to your property.
