Foundational Courses

Designed for applicants who do not possess an undergraduate degree in a business field.
Foundational Business Courses PBBA 701—Accounting Fundamentals PBBA 705—Data-Based Decision Making PBBA 706—Fundamentals of Finance *The need for these courses will be evaluated and recommended on an as-needed basis at the time of acceptance. *Work experience may be applicable toward foundational work as deemed appropriate by the director of the MBA Program. *Foundational courses do not count toward the 36 credit MBA Program requirement.
Frequently Asked Questions
How will an MBA help me grow my career? Expanding your business knowledge in a real-world, immediately applicable way will have a direct and positive effect on your abilities and performance at work. You will improve and increase your problem-solving abilities, creativity, and effectiveness while you develop essential management skills.
How many courses can I take at a time? Typically, a student takes one or two courses in each 8-week term, pacing themselves based on work/life demands. There is no requirement per term, so you may find yourself taking one course during a busy time at work or home, but maybe two when things are a little slower and more predictable.
How long will it take to earn the degree? At a one course per 8-week term pace, you will graduate in two years.
When and where are classes offered? Our courses are offered Monday–Thursday evenings at our main campus in Annville, online, and at the IU13/Burle Conference Center in Lancaster.
What formats are available? We offer several options. All our classes are presented in a classroom format utilizing technology and online components, when applicable, to enhance the learning process. We also regularly schedule hybrid courses that combine classroom and online meetings. We do have a selection of fully online courses as well.
What is the average class size? You can expect 10–15 students in the average class.
Who are the instructors? Our courses are presented by a mix of full-time Business Department faculty and professionally qualified adjunct faculty who are experts in their fields. Our faculty members bring years of teaching and professional experience to the classroom.
I am interested in healthcare, but not sure I want to pursue the concentration. Can I add the healthcare concentration later? You can switch to the healthcare track and vice versa at any time. You can even come back after graduation to earn the concentration!
My degree is not in business. Can I still apply? Yes! We will review your application and may recommend foundational level courses to help prepare you. You will be informed of these requirements at the time of acceptance. You may take your foundational courses, as needed, along with MBA level courses. You may also consider our Certificate in Business Administration Program if you need a variety of business courses to prepare you for an MBA Program.
Do you accept transfer courses, and if so, how many? You may transfer up to 9 credits, of which only 6 may be applied toward the MBA core course requirements. The remaining 3 credits would be applied toward the free-elective requirements. Course transfers are evaluated during the application process and you are notified of the status at the time of acceptance.

• Possess a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. • Have three years of professional work experience. Applicants with less experience, but a very strong undergraduate record or satisfactory performance on the GMAT, may be considered for admission.

Step 4 Submit an official transcript from each college, university, or professional school attended.
Official transcripts should be signed, sealed, and sent by the issuing school to Lebanon Valley College MBA Office. Transcripts may also be sent through secure electronic delivery to mba@lvc.edu.
