Note from the Editor... Dear Neighbours, I can’t quite believe how we got here so fast! This is the last issue of the year and as I’m writing my regular note to you (this is always the last piece of content to go into the magazine, my tradition when pulling the magazine together) I’m thinking back at what’s happened over the year. I’ve been on some exciting adventures, had some fantastic opportunities and met even more amazing people in and around the community. I think I can say with confidence that I have the best job I've ever had these last 13 years (although my boss can be really tough). September was one of my highlights as I was asked to MC at the Edenbridge Motor Show and had the most amazing time. It was organised as usual by the Eden Valley Chamber of Commerce but the organising committee (of which I'm also part of ) consisted of new members. We have been delighted with the feedback received and have also taken into account some of the things that will need tweaking when we put on next year's show (date for 2019 is Sunday 8th September). Thank you to everyone who came, all the exhibitors, the musicians, Tommy Hill for officially opening the event, and of course all the volunteers that help set up, marshal and clear up the event. I'm already excited for next year's event!

NEWS Father Christmas to switch on Town's Christmas Lights Edenbridge will once more enjoy a Christmas event in the High Street, to be held on Saturday 1st December between 2 and 7pm. Please note, a road closure will be in place in the centre section of the High Street. Edenbridge Bonfire Society have donated their stage for the day and a range of local groups will be performing: Songsters, A Cappella, Marlins Morris Men/Women, Edenbridge Town Band, The Forge Singers, Edenbridge Players who will be performing the Gift of the Magi and a church singing group to round off after the lights switch on at 5pm.

News from the Community Edenbridge Bonfire Extravaganza on Saturday 3rd November The biggest event with a history spanning 90 years will take over the town on Saturday 3rd November. Road closures will be in place from 6pm as the procession makes it way from Fircroft Way to do two circuits of the High St. The HUGE fireworks display will take place in the recreation ground off Lingfield Road after the procession. Tickets are available in advance from local outlets or on the gate on the night. The unveiling of the giant effigy will be taking place on Wednesday 31st October and the worldwide media spotlight will once again be on our town. Who will it be this year?
