Interview with Moises Alves by Kuestión de Tormento Zine

There are great illustrators in our scene, but only a few are dedicated because their works go beyond the unimaginable, capturing cursed visions that we can only find in authentic Extreme Metal albums. This is the case of Moises alves from Hell Forge Metal Art from Brazil... 1st - Welcome Moises Alves to this new edition of the KdT Zine, it is an honor to have you here with us. Tell us about your first years of initiation in the world of illustration and artistic drawing, tell us the story behind the artist and the arts that we know today. I thank you and feel honored by this opportunity. As for my story, I can say that I started late. I'm terrible with dates, but, to put it simply, I believe that my interest in drawing began when I met a tattoo artist friend who taught me the first steps in tattooing and drawing around 2005, I was about 25 years old but I could be wrong with the dates, the fact is that Drawing hadn't even crossed my mind before that. Over time, I tried to follow my own path in search of my style. However, it was during the pandemic that I started dedicating myself more directly to illustrations for the underground. With people at home putting their projects into practice, many bands began to emerge. So, I further directed my style towards something more suited to what the bands were looking for and that I felt pleasure in performing.

Moises alves - Metal Ilustrator Artworks -

2° - What is the drawing technique that you like to more work? I started drawing and trying to become a tattoo artist. That's why, in the beginning, I sought realism. In fact, I made several portraits with graphite for a long time, and there are still some posted on my Instagram. It's something I like to do, but it has never brought me financial profit. However, when people started looking for my work for band illustrations, they wanted something more stylized. So, I combined my taste for horror and tried to develop something with a pattern aimed at death metal and old school Black Metal.

Another Demon, Sinira, Phanteon, MortalitasUK, Svart Kors, Cadaver Vampire, Beyond Extinction, Necro Hunter, Kromorth, Revogar, Nervo Chaos, Funeratus, Murderous Ideology, and many others...

I work both digitally and with traditional art, with my favorite tool being a ballpoint pen. It's practical, cheap and has an incredible variety of possible strokes and textures. Even when I work digitally, I try to make the appearance still carry an aura of traditional drawing. 3rd - Apart from the illustrations, what other artistic works can be commissioned and are made at Hell Forge Metal Art? People come to me more to do drawings and logos, I don't tattoo anymore, nowadays I do illustration for the underground and anything else related to that is what makes me happy, and that's enough for me. 4° - Which bands have commissioned your services or which have acquired work from Hell Forge Metal Art? Which bands commissioned their services or acquired work from Inferno Forge metal art? I've done a lot, my memory is not my strong point but I can name some like

5° - Do you maintain the same line of inspiration in your arts or, on the contrary, when working, can you be influenced by other imaginative sources? I try to make my work flow as naturally as possible, my head has a mountain of influences and ideas, maybe that's why my memory is quite chaotic, to compensate I always have paper around me and I make small sketches of ideas that comes to my mind, I think it's exactly because everything around me can end up sparking an idea, from a horror film or even the texture of a tree bark that can create an interesting image depending on the angle from which it is being viewed.

6° - What is the art you are most proud of and with which you feel most identified? I consider that I don't have an attachment to the drawings themselves but to the fact of drawing, I'm addicted to the process, so when one ends I just run to the next one like an alcoholic looking for another fix, I'm a musician and that's how I am with music. also, experiencing is much better than contemplating, I'm proud of many but I wouldn't know how to choose a favorite.

Forge Metal Art? What conditions does the author of the art reserve and what is the right that the client receives upon receiving the finished work? All completed work is delivered in digital format with high resolution. However, color adjustments for printing and vectorization are the customer's responsibility. These terms apply to commissions and gallery art. Once the artwork is sold, the client retains the rights to use it, while I retain the right to display the art on social media, in publications and other media to promote my own work as well as the client's. 9th - Have you ever worked together with another artist sharing ideas or have you always worked alone?

7° - When budgeting for your work, what is the basis of where your fees are based? Is it the same price for a job done as for a charge? Does the price of your completed works vary from one another or do they maintain the same price?

It took a few years of my life for me to discover that I am someone who likes to be alone, the voices in my head are already more than enough people to torment me, and I often end up fighting alone with my own madness, I don't know if I would know how to work well with other people and what I love about this job is exactly the fact that I am responsible for the victory or defeat of all battles. 10° - Here concludes the Moises Alves To r m e n t , w e a p p r e c i a t e y o u r participation and wish you the best for you and your projects. Any last words for readers and followers of your work?

Ready-made artwork costs less because I had complete freedom to develop what I want the way I want, so the price starts at USD$40, for orders the base price is USD$80 and in both cases it depends on the complexity of the work.

I thank you for the opportunity and time you have given in your lives to read these lines, I invite everyone to check out my work on my social networks and if you are interested in my services just get in touch!

8th - When a job is finally completed, what does the client receive from Hell
