SIMPSON Born and raised in Berkshire, United Kingdom, Singer/ Songwriter & all around artist SIMPSON's musical journey began as a small child, singing in church and playing piano. He fell in love with the heartfelt music that touches the soul which was played in his family home, and began his professional career which was strongly influenced by Jazz, performing at local community and charity events. All were preparing him for the future, which saw him successfully launch a new genre of music in the UK when he introduced his EP, "Steady" in January 2015. The "Soulternative Pop" genre was born, and received a very warm welcome from the crowds of live music supporters in Greater Britain. His tour began then, and will be continuing until the end of this year. SIMPSON describes the new genre "Soulternative Pop" as a fusion of Soul, Jazz, Blues, RNB, Alternative & Funk. Crowds adore him, his style, his unique sound & touch that he puts on everything he sings. From the cover of the classic "A Change Is Gonna Come" by Sam Cooke to his original songs, he shows London his true talent via live events; having performed at the London Jazz Festival, The Natural History Museum, The Business Design Centre & HRH The Prince Of Wales, an unforgettable moment for the singer, and now via Social Media sites, where his work has been getting a lot of attention & new fans from around the world. 2015 also saw him team up with New York City's singer/ songwriter extraordinaire, Clayton Bryant, who was mentored by greats such as Luther Vandross & Whitney Houston, and also had an appearance in Oscar & Grammy Award winning documentary 20 Feet From Stardom. We recently did a show on # ArtistsUnited # TalkTV about streaming and its effect on the industry as a whole. This came from a post that I had seen that was showing the streaming revenues of a fair sized independent label, and comparing the different sites with their payouts to artists. I realize that the music world changed to a place where people, if they can get something for free, they will take it. Of course... who wouldn't. It is like that old saying "why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free?" If your videos are on YouTube, full songs are on Soundcloud & other sites, why would someone buy it? We have received quite a few responses saying that artists have their music streaming AND for sale... but the truth is people are buying when they can't stream. Some artists said that they have their music streaming because they want to be discovered. How are you going to get discovered in a place filled with clutter? The answer is they are not. Those same artists who said they want to be discovered... upon further conversation, told me that music is not their full time job. Now we are far from being "about the money" but our artists need to live... because this is their full time job. I was simply saying that we haven't been streaming and our artists have been selling. I wish the entire industry would understand that streaming sites have undervalued our artists and their art. They have put a 1 cent price tag on someone's beautiful hard work that they worked hard to earn to create the music in the first place. Now tell me how this is acceptable? I was taught that if want something, especially music, you had to save up to buy it. We were taught to value, respect and support music... and that is why I do what I do. That is why we support independent artists and help them to get noticed. If you have 100% clean music with a positive message, please get in touch.
