THE LEADING

PROBLEM

!

RISING URBAN POPULATION & INCREASED ISOLATION

Millenials and Gen-Z are choosing flexible and short term reflections of lifestyles as the working culture drastically shifts in many industries.

AFFORDABLE

Cost of living has become a huge factor for many. Renting is more feasible than home ownership for many millenials.

NOMADIC

Millenials are known as the loneliest generation and seek to find communities and that allow for social, economic and envrionmental impacts.

VALUES

Younger generations are valuing experiences over physical possessions. Settling down may not be a priority as it was before.

ISOLATION

SAN FRANCISCO CALIFORNIA

and providing the possibility to integrate work while embracing a lifestyle balance.

3.

CO-REACHING

to practice a sustainable, ethical and meaningful way of life while striving for self-growth.

2.

THE FUTURE IS

INCLUSIVE San Francisco - the hub for technology, innovation and cultural diversity, yet daily lives of individuals are not reflected in the spaces that they live in. The aim is to integrate all walks of life by creating inclusive communities that are flexible, sustainable and encourage social interaction with an innovative model of urban living. Design will challenge the expectations of what a “home really is, and how living in the future starts today.

PARTNERS Incroporating both public and private partners to gain diverse perspectives on transforming the future city - San Francisco Planning, Rebuilding Together and Google.

MATERIALITY & FINISHES The materials and finishes are based on the concept of bringing the outside inside. Emphasis is put onto natural materials that we find in nature, mimicing the beauty of nature and how we can be reminded of it as well. The webbing world is inspired from nature’s impeccable demonstration of a cohesive environment and example of life - therefore, the materials reflect these values as well.
