Dear Delegate, Welcome to the JCI UK National Convention 2010!!

Message from Message from thethe National President National President

I'm delighted that you have made the decision to join us here in London. This is an exciting event for us as it is the first time we have combined our 2 major national events into one flagship event.

2010 has been a great year for JCI UK and has included a visit from the World President, the development and launch of a brand new website, a growth in membership, inspiring local projects, increased profile at international JCI events and development of exciting new partnership opportunities with businesses across the UK. I do hope that you will get an opportunity to learn more about our achievements during this weekend and share in the celebration of our achievements. I'm so excited about the fantastic programme that has been put together by the Conference Organising Committee from JCI London. I'd like to take this opportunity to thank Sarah Beckwith and her team for all their hard work in planning this years convention and very much look forward to enjoying the events this weekend which include an evening with super heroes, training, debating and public speaking competitions and a very special Gala Dinner and Awards ceremony on the River Thames. As National President 2010 I'd like to thank JCI UK for being such a great organisation to lead. I've been so proud of the members and Local Chambers and all the efforts made to make our great organisation even better. It has been a pleasure to work with so many talented young leaders and active citizens and to have the opportunity this weekend to recognise and celebrate all your hard work during the year. Please have a wonderful time at our National Convention!! Warmest regards, Lesley Young National President 2010 Senator No. 69906

Welcome to London and the first ever JCI UK National Convention! JCI London is proud to be organising this inaugural event and it has been a privilege for me to be the Convention Director. I have had the opportunity to work with some amazing members on the COC team, expand my skills and meet lots of fabulous JCI members from different chambers in my travels to promote the convention. I am especially delighted by the number of international guests we have attending this weekend. We hope you enjoy the varied programme that we’ve put together! The main purpose of the convention is to get JCI members talking to share ideas and best practice. To this end I really encourage you to meet as many people as possible and find out all the exciting things they are doing in their local (and national!) organisations -you never know what you might learn and be able to put -into practice in your own chamber.

Sarah Beckwith COC Director JCI London

Have a great weekend!

It is with pride that I, on behalf of JCI London, welcome you to the first JCI UK National Convention. The conference organising committee, led by Sarah Beckwith, has done an outstanding job in organising this amazing weekend of interactive training sessions, speakers, parties, dinners and lunches, which promises a unique opportunity to be challenged, be inspired, and develop leadership skills. I look forward to getting to know you all a bit better over the weekend; if JCI is anything for me it is about building friendships and personal relationships. Make sure you develop these relationships and last but not least, have fun and take advantage of everything that London and the Convention have to offer!

Solveig Malvik President 2010 JCI London
