iXS European Downhill Cup In its seventh season, the European series is doing better than ever before. Its fresh, attractive but nevertheless demanding character is definitely worth mentioning and could give its big brother a serious headache in 2014. The Cup unites the favorite tracks of some of the world‘s best riders in one series and concludes with an exciting Superfinal for the Top 30. In ihrem siebten Jahr steht die Europaserie so gut da wie noch nie. Sie ist so frisch, attraktiv und anspruchsvoll, dass ihrem großen Bruder wohl etwas mulmig werden könnte, schließlich finden sich hier die wohl beliebtesten Strecken von vielen der weltbesten Fahrer. Und ein Superfinal, bei dem die Top 30 noch einmal auf den Kurs gehen, das wird definitiv Schule machen. 8

The iXS European Downhill Cup opens its 8th season in 2014 and takes a huge step up! The 2014 agenda includes some of the favorite tracks of the downhill elite. The first of the different hosts is already a huge name within the bike scene. After all, Maribor (Slovenia) is a former World Cup classic and so the perfect season kick-off! Der iXS European Downhill Cup geht nun in seine siebte Runde und der diesj채hrige Rennkalender ist voll von Strecken, die die besten Fahrer der Welt als ihr Lieblingsstrecken bezeichnen. Man sagt, der erste Eindruck ist der wichtigste und somit ist Maribor, als eines der beliebtesten ehemaligen Weltcuprennen, wohl der perfekt Saisonauftakt. Hier gab Maribor MAY 16.-18. es magische Racemomente und die wird es auch COURSE 2600 m | 450 hm 2014 wieder bei diesem slowenischen Klassiker FASTEST TIME 2013 3:43.424 min geben.

SCHLADMING Only one week after the World Cup in Leogang, the second stop of the EDC will bring the Cup to Schladming. The former World Cup venue is definitive a legend and after a break of a few years, Schladming finally returns to the international stage. The Planai has a font of racing anecdotes and now the history will continue.
Als zweites geht es direkt eine Woche nach dem Weltcup in Leogang ins nur knapp 100 Kilometer entfernte Schladming. Dieser ebenfalls ehemalige Weltcuport ist definitiv eine Legende. Nach einer kleineren Phase der Abstinenz kehrt jenes Schladming auf die internationale B端hne zur端ck, das mit der Abfahrtsstrecke auf der Planai schon viele Schladming JUNE 20.-22. Downhill-Geschichten schrieb. Diese Geschichte COURSE 2500 m | 600 hm wird nun fortgeschrieben. FASTEST TIME 2013

VAL DI SOLE L With Val di Sole the European Cup adds a further classic venue to its race calendar. Even though the track always has been one of the hardest but also best tracks all over the world, there have been some additional special changes for 2014. One of these changes is the new and very fast top section of the track, while Pippo’s old school section is still the same.
Der dritte Klassiker folgt unmittelbar nach dem zweiten Lauf und dazu kommt der iXS European Downhill Cup an keinen geringeren Ort als Val di Sole. Obwohl der Kurs bereits als einer der härtesten aber auch schönsten weltweit bekannt ist, wurde die Strecke noch einmal überarbeitet. Hinzugekommen ist am Anfang eine ziemlich schnelle Sektion, aber Val di Sole JUNE 27.-29. natürlich wurde auf Pippo´s Old School Passage COURSE 2200 m | 520 hm nicht verzichtet. FASTEST TIME 2013

LES 2 ALPES After the Italian stop, the season continues with the Crankworx Europe Festival. After a very short break of only a few days, the athletes will meet again in Les Deux Alpes. One must make hay when the sun shines. The Polygon Air DH presented by iXS Downhill Cup in the French Alpes will be the last in the first half of the season, but nevertheless it will be worth the trip as numerous pros will attend.
Direkt im Anschluss geht es weiter zum Crankworx Europe Festival. Nur ein paar wenige Tage Pause haben die Athleten um dann bereits wieder den Kurs von Les Deux Alpes unter die Lupe zu nehmen. Feste muss man feiern wie sie fallen und erst recht Festivals. Der Polygon Air DH presented by iXS Downhill Cup in den franzรถsischen Alpen bildet damit den Les 2 Alpes JULY 04.-06. The next stop is an old acquaintance. The lovely bike park in the Böhmerwald (Czech Republic) is not any longer an insider tip. It has been a classic venue of the European Cup for already 4 years and will continue this tradition at the “Struggle”-course in 2014. Although the track is not too long or too steep, the rocky character will definitely challenge the riders once again. Weiter geht es bei einem alten Bekannten. Der liebenswerte Bikepark im Böhmerwald ist schon lange kein Geheimtipp mehr. Bereits seit 4 Jahren macht der Europacup Halt auf dem Kurs mit dem bezeichnenden Namen „Struggle“. Die nicht allzu lange Strecke mit eher moderaten Höhen- Spicak JULY 18.-20. metern wird nicht zuletzt aufgrund des steinigen COURSE 1750 m | 320 hm Untergrunds den Fahrern einiges abverlangen. PILA
The second Italian venue will once more be Pila. The bikepark above Aosta is situated between three countries: France, Italy and Switzerland. The track will be prepared by no other than former World Cup winner Corrado Herin. In addition to this great event, the visitors are provided with the spectacular view of the Matterhorn, the Mont Blanc and the Monte Rosa – the highest mountains of Europe. Die zweite italienische Station ist wieder einmal Pila. Der Park oberhalb Aosta liegt im Dreiländereck von Frankreich, Italien und der Schweiz. Der ehemalige Worldcupsieger Corrado Herin wird wieder eine Strecke präparieren, die besten Spitzensport liefert. Last but not least, our journey will lead us to Leogang. The race will not only take place on the same track as the World Cup did in 2012, but it will also have decisive influence on the current series! With a last and hopefully spectacular race, the iXS European Downhill Cup releases the riders into a well-deserved off-season. Man soll dann aufhören wenn es am Schönsten ist, sagt man. Grund genug Leogang als letzten Lauf der Serie zu legen. Bei dem Rennen auf dem 2012er WM Kurs werden also die Seriensieger ermittelt. Wer hier den Platz als Gewinner verlässt, der hat sich durch harte Arbeit einen Stern auf dem europäischen Downhill Boulevard verdient. Mit diesem krönenden Leogang SEPT. 19.-21. Abschluss entlässt der Europacup die Fahrer in COURSE 2300 m | 480 hm die wohlverdiente Off-Season. FASTEST TIME 2013

iXS Swiss Downhill Cup The iXS home country is, of course, also the birth place of the different iXS series. Already since 2003, many different races carried this name and in 2014 the SDC will start its 12th season. This will include classic venues like Morgins, as well as a completely new one with Lenzerheide. The Swiss Cup is definitely a must-have for those who like high mountains! Das Mutterland von iXS ist natürlich auch die Geburtsstätte der iXS Serien. Bereits 2003 wurden unter diesem Titel Rennen gefahren und somit steht nun schon die zwölfte Saison an. Mit dabei ist mit Morgins sowohl ein Gründungsmitglied als auch mit Lenzerheide ein völlig neuer Ort des Schweizer Cups. Wer Berge mag ist bei dieser Serie genau richtig! 22

iXS Rookies Cup Not only the big names play an important role in the sport! The iXS Rookies Cup has its focus on our youngest talents. Since you have to be 15 years old to take part in the other Cups, this is the chance for all kids to prove their skills and gain more and more experience. Nicht immer stehen die ganz großen Namen im Vordergrund, denn bei dieser Rennserie stehen eher die Kleinen im Rampenlicht. Die Jüngsten waren mit ihren 11 Jahren noch nicht einmal geboren, als die Geschichte der iXS Cups ihren Lauf nahm und da man in den großen Serien erst ab einem Alter von 15 einsteigen kann, kann man sich hier einen richtigen Erfahrungsvorsprung rausfahren. 24
