Every urban system does not only have its very own genetic code, it is celebrating it. The problem is though, that this particular code usually is understood as the cross total of architectural and spatial forms, socio-economic, political and cultural forces. Means: the way a city is majorly defined is due for an upgrade, since these days it is much more characterized by how it is shaped and transformed and understood by the people who chose to live there, based on the street dynamics and connected challenges that basically change by the minute. A real city should force you to learn from daily than actually planning the future. It should turn a convinced carnivore into a vegan within a week and vice versa. It should be noisy and smelly and cramped and still guarantee you all the air you need to breathe. It should communicate with you and teach you new things on a daily basis, so that you just burn to return the favor. It should deliver a sense for endlessness and limitedness at the same time. It should make you miss drama and human intrigue and struggles as soon as you’re leaving it. There should be promise and despair. It should make you wise up big time and make you become the child you once were. It should be super cosmo and very small-town. And maybe most importantly, it should pull back the curtain on who you really are. My city exactly is such a city. Wow, and how much I love to be a part of it. Yours truly, Iriedaily
