Tool I used for describing myself: Prezi

Web address: http://prezi.com

Short description: Prezi is a cloud-based presentation software that opens up a new world between whiteboards and slides. It is really fun and useful. Is an application - an editor that lets you create prezi presentations. However, unlike many applications, Prezi can be used directly from an internet browser (e.g. Firefox, Internet Explorer, Chrome, Safari) without the need to install anything. Prezi can also be installed (we call this Prezi Desktop) so you can use it without internet access. Tips for using it: Prezi is an easy and intuitive tool. You will have a lot of fun using it. To learn how to use it please go to: http://prezi.com/learn/ Link to my presentation: The link for my presentation is: http://prezi.com/lq2qarrrzbya/who-am-i/

Tool I used for describing myself:

Web address: http://www.wallwisher.com/ Short description: Wallwisher is a Web 2.0 free online tool where anyone can build a “wall”. Discussing a new idea? Taking notes? Giving feedback? Voicing opinion? Wallwisher is your best choice!Your students and you can go onto the internet and stick post-it notes electronically onto your wall. The notes can include linked pictures, You Tube videos, PowerPoints, PDF documents, Excel Spreadsheets, or web page links. Tips for using it: It’s a good idea to select to approve every post before it is shown on the wall. This way you can moderate all comments whether they are posted anonymously or by a named student. How can we use wallwisher in teaching? - As a resource sharer – each sticky opens to a new site / video / image - Evaluations and Reviews; - Storytelling, webquest, quizzez; - Classroom management; - Journals, school-life; - Matching activities (picture/words…); - As moveable magnets…and the list can go on and on…

Tool I used for describing myself: Slideshow with music background

Web address: http://tripwow.tripadvisor.com

Short description: This software allows me to add photos and write captions on them, add music and themes. The photos can be divided into parts which represent a journey or a progression from one thing to another. In my case I used it to indicate the differences between my home country and my adoptive country to give you an idea of my character and my mixed cultural background as well as some of my experiences in my teaching career. Tips for using it: Make sure you have plenty of time because adding the photos, captions and choosing which presentation with what music especially if you are uploading it, is timeconsuming. I suggest you prepare all the material you are going to use first then upload as the last task. Another thing is to make sure it is viewed by 10 people on different computers before you can download it and keep a copy. It is great for students to use for presenting their home towns and places they have visited and travelled to. Tool I have used for introducing myself

Hello, everybody I know a lot of web 2.0 appropriate for postmodern teaching but I have chosen for our group linoit http://en.linoit.com/ because I found it really interesting and not so used as other tools. Lino is a free sticky and canvas service that requires nothing but a Web browser. You can use it to post memos, to-do lists, ideas, and photos anywhere on an online web canvas. Unlike some similar sticky note services, Lino It allows you to alter the size and color of your fonts. It is similar to wallwisher, spazee, stixy, postica. There are some tips for using lino.

Tool I used for describing myself: A Glog

Web address: http://www.glogster.com/

Short description: A Glog is like a blog but it’s just a poster. It’s an interactive poster: people can post comments under it. You can add: images, text, videos, sounds, & so on. It’s very comprehensive & above all, students LOVE it! :) I tried a project last year with one of my classes and they were very active, autonomous & delighted. Their writing was excellent & they did not even complain about having to write texts in English….. I’m not pulling your leg… You don’t need any software, it’s very easy & made directly on line. You easily find all your Glogs (you have to register for free first). You only need to visit the Glogster website

Tips for using it: It’s very intuitive and everything is explained. There also are great tutorials, for instance here: http://www.slideshare.net/Andreatej/glogster-tutorial-2916913 http://www.slideshare.net/jmcgee/glog-on-presentation http://www.slideshare.net/wmbbdavis/glogster-edu-tutorial
