Idea Design Studio recognizes the achievements and life of Frank Shuman, the pioneer of solar energy. Without his efforts and inventions, solar energy might not have progressed as far as it has today.
Shuman built the world's first solar thermal power station in 1912. Unfortunately, World War I and the discovery of cheap oil in the 1930's stifled solar energy after Shuman's death in 1918.
