Looking Sideways – an ongoing project exploring the fringes of snow, surf and skate – popped up at the Loop Bar in Tignes, France, March 14 – 18, 2011, during the Winter X Games Europe. The independent festival hosted a variety of events rooted in art, music and photography to celebrate the creativity in snowboarding culture. This included an art show from Schoph Schophield, a snow photography retrospective from James McPhail and music from Ben Howard, Duke, Jettblack and Truckfighters. In order to capture the fun and games for posterity, we set up a mobile studio in the Dragon Lodge in Tignes Le Lac and made this magazine as the event unfolded.
