An Historic Setting Castlemartyr Resort offers luxury 5 Star hotel accommodation within easy reach of Cork Airport and is on the doorstep of Cork City. The magnificent Manor House from the 17th Century, painstakingly restored to its original grandeur, now forms the centrepiece of the Castlemartyr Resort, where it lies adjacent to the ruins of an 800 year old castle originally built by The Knights Templar under Richard Earl de Clare, known as Strongbow. The Resort is nestled in 220 acres of mature landscape with meandering streams, parklands and a tranquil lake that is abundant with wildlife and gardens that include a reconstruction of the historical, classical parterre beds.

Guests can also choose to take our resident Irish setters, Earl and Countess, for a stroll around the beautiful formal gardens or a walk or run through the adjacent Castlemartyr Woods.

Rest & Slumber Each of our 103 bedrooms and suites are individually appointed with the finest in interior design and comfort. Many of the Manor House suites have sweeping views of the 18th century parkland and lakes while the bedrooms and suites, located in the main wing, have a luxurious contemporary feel, contain all the facilities for today’s traveller and offer the guest attractive views over the garden or the golf course. Each room has a very sizeable dressing area and all our bathrooms are very spacious and have a separate rainforest shower, full bath, marbled topped double vanity and separate toilet.

Location and Retreat Castlemartyr is a 20 minute drive from Cork City along the N25 between the East Cork towns of Midleton and Youghal. The Resort’s location also benefits from its close proximity to many primary national routes such as Waterford, Limerick and the West. The Resort is only a 25 minute drive from Cork International Airport. Situated in one of the richest historical parts of Ireland, nearby places to visit include Fota Wildlife Park, Old Jameson Distillery and numerous small fishing villages and market towns. Guests can also choose to explore the historic towns of Youghal and Cobh, famous for having the second largest natural harbour in the world and was the last port of call for the Titanic.
