Design Concept
As climate change becomes a big environmental problem to earth in 2018, we have responsibility to decrease our unsustainable impacts to protect the environment and the living habitats of animals who are also the owner of the planet like us. The design concept aims to through natural things to notice people the environmental problem and the purpose of Earth Hour event. For our future, let us switch off the lights and reconnect to nature in Earth Hour 2018.

Event Posters: main poster
The main elements of the poster include polar bear and stars. Due to global warming caused by bad environmental impacts, the living habitat of polar bear is gradually decreased. So, the poster aims to notice people the problem of climate change and the demand of changing unsustainable phenomenon. Besides, as the purpose of Earth Hour is to switch off the lights for an hour to reconnect to nature, stars as the natural lights are used in the poster to encourage people to watch the stars and enjor the nature; and, the number ‘60‘ created by stars means the period of Earth Hour. Event Posters: single event poster
During Earth Hour, people in worldwide are host different kinds of activities to get together and promote the meaning of the event. The attached posters for the event choose ‘different places‘ as the theme and use ‘switch lights off at landmarks around the world‘ as the main element to show the activity in different places. The chosen places for the posters are Sydney and Beijing, and the landmarks at these two places which are Sydney Opera House and the Temple of Heaven are used. Besides, to show the connection with the main poster, stars and polar bear are also used in the posters. In addition, as one of the posters will be put at Beijing, the texts of this poster is in Chinese.

Typography
Myriad Pro is a general type used in posters and communication system, which is the most suitable type for the style of the poster.
FZYaoTi is the typography for the Chinese texts, which also fits the style of the poster.

Main colours of the poster are blue and green, which reference the colours of sky and natural environment to show the connection of nature. And, these colours also show the scene of night, as the main activity in Earth Hour is switch off the lights at 8:30pm.

Web Banner web banner is designed to better promote the event. Stars and texts are taken from the main poster as the elements in web banner. Because, the stars and dark background show the time of the event and ‘connect to nature‘ concept; the ‘60‘ shows the period of Earth Hour; and the texts shows the detailed time and the website information.

The application of main poster is mainly on street poster and billboard, because Earth Hour is a big event for the world, promotion in public places would attract more people and would promote the event wider.
