Dr. Anjuliet Woodruffe theorizes home as a space, not a place, as a transnational, Trinidadian American woman who engages in a communicative process of self-negotiation to (re)think, (re)imagine, and (re)construct home while living in the United States. In trying to re-create home away from homeland, Woodruffe offers a perspective on the affective entanglements of home on diasporic bodies where home becomes a shifting locus of identification that travels with/in as sacred, embodied (re)memory. Anjuliet G. Woodruffe is a postdoctoral fellow at the Charles Phelps Taft Research Center at the University of Cincinnati. She holds a PhD in Communication and a Graduate Certificate in Women’s and Gender Studies. She is a scholar whose research interests intersect intercultural communication, relational communication, performance writing, and critical cultural studies. Woodruffe uses autoethnography, poetry, and Black transnational feminist frameworks to analyze representations of transnationals living in the United States.
