SM - What message are you hoping to get across to the people by doing what you do?

You can do everything you want to do. So just do it. The most important thing is to know thy self. Sit plan and think, organize. Know everything you need to know about your business, but don't stress yourself out too much, it's already stressful. Ask a lot of questions, no dumb questions but one that isn't asked. Also, always remember that IS NOT YOUR MONEY. So, learn to use the money. Hey, you can still do fun and cool things, but it's time to get ourselves together. And take care of yourself, so you can take care of others and business. Flat out.

SM- Tell us about what you're promoting and the details around it?

What I'm promoting to the world this time around is our unbeatable prices that can't match what we offer. Over 15 years in the Ink Slinging game, I offer tap out sessions for $1000.00 straight! That's either until you TAP OUT, or your body does. What's unique about this that separates it from the rest? Google not lying! Not about me!!! My ratings and reviews tell it all, my artwork speaks for itself, plus who doesn't want to get some slamming, tight, vicious Ink Work from their favorite Uncle Cy lol. "Don't steal my adlib.

SM- Who was a part of this project that contributed to its success?

Number1 is my wife. She does the best braids in town. Braided and slayed by Londa, just saying. She kept my mind strong and focused when I really needed to be. Also, my left-hand Bio is always in my corner. Best business partner to have. He is the Co-Owner of MODSQUAD Ink and Piercings with me.

SM- What is the inspiration behind what you do?

I am heavily motivated and inspired by everything. Because I do not dabble and stay in the negative phase for long periods of time, I can focus more on natural and selective creative arts that pushes my career even further. Ultimately, LIFE inspires me the most.

SM- What are some other things people can expect from you in the near future?

Branding. Enterprise. More movie roles. I will do another album. Mr. Cheeks and my producers Aye Stuckey and Ayo B got some things planned for me. BSF5, we'll see. But for now, I'm just slinging ink, taken care of my peoples, and doing what I'm supposed to do, flat out I'm not playing with nothing or no one lmao man time business time. That's it #InkWork.

SM- Why is this so valuable to you? And why now?

Now is the season on GO ON AND GO FURTHUR! A lot of things that the energies are preparing for me right now push more into what I am. I mean, as far as touring managers recontacting me, even Stardom 101 gave me a ring! Mr. Cheeks gave me your dates, and my businesses are booming. Me, my wife, and business partner Biohazard have taken in this sign, to use these gifts, to give and share with the people.

“Stay Blessed Not Stressed” AnaMaris

SM- What message are you hoping to get across to the people by doing what you do?

I'm hoping to touch people hearts by showing them that we all have a story. What matters is what we do to overcome anxiety, depression, PTSD, and so much more. By talking about my life and how I overcame my traumas over the years by walking in faith and trusting that there is a light at the end of the tunnel!

SM- Tell us about what you’re promoting and the details around it? I am promoting myself as a Model and Reiki Practitioner. I believe everyone deserves to heal from within to live a happy, healthy lifestyle.

SM- What's unique about this that separates it from the rest? My business is unique because not everyone understands how one can heal and transform from the inside out.

SM- Who was a part of this project that contributed to its success? First God for allowing me to discover my abilities, second my kids who inspire me to make the change this world needs. Teaching humanity how child neglect keeps happening, verbal and physical abuse is not the right way to discipline a child. Also, women whom I have observed over the years with their low self-esteem made me that woman to stand up and speak for others.

SM- What is the inspiration behind what you do? Spirituality knowing myself and getting to know more of my talents is impressive. Learning about Thyself to grow from within by meditating and incorporating it into my daily routine.

SM- What are some other things people can expect from you in the near future?

Humanity can expect me as a motivational speaker coach. I would love to be the advocate humanity needs to teach others it is possible if you work hard for it.

SM- Why is this so valuable to you? And why now?

It is valuable to me because I can be that role model and inspire others to heal their traumas and any suffering, they might experience that no one speaks on. I can help by coaching and healing with reiki healing. We deserve to live our lives outside of the pattern we grew up on.

Reese James

SM- Tell us about what you’re promoting and the details around it?

I am promoting my newest single that I just released entitled “Great Sex” by Reese James which is available on all downloading platforms worldwide. I also have an album out that I released back in 2019 entitled “I AM Reese” by Reese which is also available on all downloading sites worldwide.

SM- What is the inspiration behind what you do?

The inspiration behind what I do is just the love I have for music and how it feeds my inner self.

SM- Why is this so valuable to you? And why now?

The reason why this is so valuable to me is because the music I make is that old school R&B love making story telling music with a little new twist. Why now? You say the real question is why not now, there is no time like the present.

SM- What's unique about this that separates it from the rest?

The most unique part about this is because it’s me and what I mean by that is that I am telling my stories in my own way and I’m trying to remind people how R&B used to be back when we were singing in the rain to the women we love.

SM- Who was a part of this project that contributed to its success?

The people that contributed to my musical success were my producers CJ & Franz & Robert Georges my Co-songwriters Rasheena Phinisee, Quy, and my brother Jamar Brownlee. Jamar Brownlee helped write my newest single out now called "Great Sex.' & Robert Georges helped produce Great Sex with that soul bass line you all hear in the record.

SM- What message are you hoping to get across to the people by doing what you do? That life is a continuous story that keeps changing.

SM- What are some other things people can expect from you in the near future? You can expect new music and a new album coming soon.

DBN Damo

SM- What message are you hoping to get across to the people by doing what you do?

The message is simple. Just because you're from a small unknown town or city, doesn't mean you can't follow your dreams and pursue your purpose. Also love what you do and do it your way.

SM- Tell us about what you’re promoting and the details around it?

I'm promoting my new unreleased single "Fade Away". This song is not like my top performing song on Spotify “Broken Hearts.” “Fade Away” isn’t a pain song. It’s a song about falling in love with a woman and how making love to this woman takes a man to a whole other stratosphere. It’s about needing that woman’s touch and love every day and night. It’s about going out of your way to treat that woman right because you know she’s the one.

SM- What's unique about this that separates it from the rest?

Simple, the vocals. The first song I ever recorded and released was an R&B song called "Back to October". In that song it was mostly singing and vocals. I ventured away from singing up until I did "Broken Hearts" and I'm Hurtin." But linking up with one of the best producers out, Golden Gramz, brought the singer back out of me. My adlibs in this song just reached another level and the beat is what really sets this song apart from my other works.

SM- Who was a part of this project that contributed to its success?

This song wouldn't have been possible without Golden Gramz bringing the heat on the beat. Also, I know the spirit of my favorite artist of all time, Michael Jackson was in the room with me when I recorded this song. I have a picture of Mike from the Bad Album, hanging directly in front of my mic. He’s with me in every writing and recording session.

SM- What is the inspiration behind what you do?

Artists like Michael Jackson, Fetty Wap, and Rod Wave are why I do what I do. It may come off that I'm a huge rap fan based on my music, but the truth is my love for singing is what got me started making music. The motivation to give my mother and father a better life and prevent them not working anymore is inspiration within itself because as a son you want your parents to live good and freely in their later years. Also, my future kids are my inspiration. I don't want my children growing up in the same hood I grew up in. Giving my future kids a better opportunity in life is a strong motivator.

SM- What are some other things people can expect from you in the near future? Over the next few months, people can expect more great music. They can expect more stories from my life. They can expect to learn more about who and why I am who I am.

SM- Why is this so valuable to you? And why now? Two things. Music is so valuable to me because it's my purpose. I know this is why God put me on earth and gave me the talents that he did. Doing this magazine is valuable to me because it gives me a chance to create my own narrative, perform about what my music is and who I am as an artist.

SM- What message are you hoping to get across to the people by doing what you do?

My goal is to empower people to express themselves through fashion and music. I want to create clothing and music that encourages people to be confident in their own skin and to embrace their own style. I also want to foster a sense of community, where people are connected and feel like they can trust and support each other. Most importantly, I want to spread love and positivity, and remind people that we are all in this together. 1 Team 1 Mission!

SM- Tell us about what you’re promoting and the details around it?

U-nity Clothing is a clothing line that was created to promote a sense of unity and togetherness. The clothing line was created with the goal of bringing people together by creating fashion that celebrates diversity. The clothing line features designs that are inspired by a variety of cultures and traditions from around the world. U-nity Clothing also works to promote a message of peace and understanding between different people, cultures, and nations. The company's mission is to foster a sense of community and belonging by creating clothing and apparel that represents the beauty of diversity. With U-nity Clothing, people from all walks of life can come together and express their shared values and beliefs through fashion. My music is a mix of old school and new school styles, combining hard-hitting beats with conscious street lyricism. My flow is often raw and intense, but I do switch it up with melodic and introspective vibes. I'm always thinking outside the box and pushing the boundaries of hip hop. I'm passionate about making music that speaks to people's experiences and encourages them to think more deeply. I'm also a firm believer in collaboration, so I often work with other producers and rappers to create something unique.

SM- What's unique about this that separates it from the rest?

U-nity Clothing is unique in that it offers a wide range of sizes for both men and women, so there is something to fit everyone. The designs are also bold and modern, offering a unique style that stands out from the rest. My music is unique in that it blends together different genres and styles, creating a unique sound that can't be found elsewhere. U-nity Clothing benefits consumers by offering unique, sustainable fashion that is ethically made. The clothing is designed to be durable and stylish, so consumers can enjoy their clothing items for years.

SM- Who was a part of this project that contributed to its success?

It's a few people who have played a part in making this label and clothing line such a success. First off, my wife who has been a strong supporter. She is part owner of U-Nity Clothing line who plans on dropping her own line entitled Always this year. Also Red Bo$$ who is Vice President of my label T.S.E. He has helped me carry this label to take our music to a higher level. It's never been an easy way out. We always took the stairs to the top while others chose the easy way by taking the elevator. Also, all the artist, producers, labels, radio stations, podcasters etc that support this whole #1T1M movement.

SM- What is the inspiration behind what you do?

The inspiration behind my music comes from a variety of sources. I draw from my personal experiences, the stories I hear from others, and the things I observe in everyday life. I'm also inspired by music I hear from other artists, both classic and modern, and I use those influences to create my own sound. Ultimately, my goal is to create music that resonates with people, that they can relate to and enjoy. I also hope to inspire people to believe in themselves and their potential, and to take action to make their dreams a reality. I want to show people that it's never too late to start something new, and that it's possible to create a life that is aligned with their values and passions. I also want to emphasize the importance of taking care of yourself, both physically and mentally.

SM- Why is this so valuable to you? And why now?

My music is valuable to me because it is an expression of my thoughts, feelings, and experiences. It also serves as a way to connect with others who may be going through similar struggles and to provide a platform to share my story. Music has always been an outlet for me to express myself and now I am taking it to a new level. Music has the power to create a positive, uplifting atmosphere and I want to use it to bring people together. U-nity clothing has become valuable to me because it encourages unity and peace among people of all walks of life. It's a reflection of my personal style and individuality. It is a reminder that we are all connected and that we should strive for harmony and understanding with one another.

SM- What are some other things people can expect from you in the near future?

I will be launching my own podcast to discuss mental health, personal growth, and business topics. Also pushing artist music while pushing my own as well. There will be more merchandise dropping. Keep pushing our clothing line and networking with people to make a mark in this industry

SM- What message are you hoping to get across to the people by doing what you do?

I aspire to be a high fashion and print model that represents plus size bodies in spaces where it is very hard to be accepted. There aren't many to speak of even today. When you watch high fashion shows you may see only one larger body walking for the high-end brands. Precious Lee is a model whose career I look up to and plan to stand with in these places where we weren’t originally included but are slowly making our mark. Even in the small shows I walk in now, either locally in Atlanta or in other cities, it is a struggle to find designers that have looks to fit me. But I continue to network with these undiscovered brands that are on my same level and work my way up to expand these opportunities and create room for more girls like me.

SM- Tell us about what you’re promoting and the details around it?

I am a plus size model and brand owner on the rise. I have had a passion for fashion since I could remember. I’ve always been a big girl, and in my adolescence, I used to admire the way the smaller girls would dress and wondered why those items didn’t ever come in my size. I either had to wear less attractive clothes or shop in the grown-up sections. This sparked my creativity to take those clothes and style them in a way where I could express myself. This led to me drawing clothing designs that were specifically for big girls, and by 13 years old I knew I wanted to be a clothing designer. I realized I also wanted to model because I was obsessed with the show “America’s Next Top Model,” and was completely inspired once they started letting plus models on the show such as Tocarra Jones.

SM- What's unique about this that separates it from the rest?

Because I have been dreaming of having my own clothing line, brand, modeling career, and movie career since I was very young and I wasn't the conventional beauty standard because of my size, it was unique for me to be going after the kind of career I wanted. Now of days everyone has a brand, and everyone is an Instagram model and influencers get more attention than celebrities, so I must find other ways to stand out. But it also works in my favor because this is the type of avenue I wanted to create for myself anyway where I didn’t have to follow a certain formula to achieve success.

I believe that building a brand that focuses on uplifting women and promoting confidence at any age, color, size, and shape will always be important because women are constantly battling the right to find beauty in themselves the way they naturally show up in this world. Things slowly get better over time but there is still a lot of work to do. Of course, I didn’t expect social media to take over giving more and more people the opportunity to do exactly what I’m doing. So now it comes down to setting myself apart by keeping it moving, never giving up, and building something great despite the obstacles

that come, all the "no’s" received, and the over saturation that can occur in these spaces.

SM- Who was a part of this project that contributed to its success?

My agency and partner helped me get to the point I am at today. I have never had outside help and support when it came directly to making my ideas and visions come to life until I met my partner/manager. My manager invests in me and pushes me forward even when I get discouraged. He puts me out there to any and everyone that he feels can be a steppingstone in my career and doesn't let up. He has heavily invested in my clothing brand and modeling career because he believes in what I can do and how far I can go. No one can make it on their own and it even gets rough not having more members on the team, but with our work ethic and faith the team will come, and God will continue to provide us with everything we need.

SM- What is the inspiration behind what you do? Growing up a chunky girl, I was told that the field of fashion and entertainment was not for me. The older people in my life only knew of things working a certain way and I did not fit that mold. That’s why I don’t blame them for not believing in my dreams, because it wasn’t normal at the time to see bigger bodies in the limelight. I almost believed it too until “That’s So Raven” came out, when I was 11 years old, and I saw a girl that looked just like me be fashionable and have a hit tv show. And now we are seeing major pop stars like Lizzo, breaking through barriers as well. I just want to continue these visions further and make sure that young girls coming up after me have plenty of examples of ways to “make it” and to know you can be unique and outside the norm and still succeed at whatever it is you want for yourself.

SM- What are some other things people can expect from you in the near future? People can expect me to continue to do fashion shows and travel to more and more cities. My clothing brand will have a new drop very soon. My Agency with my partner will continue to grow. You will see me on your screens in multiple different capacities. You will watch my career blossom right before your very eyes.

SM- Why is this so valuable to you? And why now? I didn't have certain examples when I was younger growing up. I wasn't born into a Hollywood family or even people with a creative mind like me. I didn't grow up with people who have faith in my visions and aspirations. I grew up with people wanting me to be realistic and find something tangible to do with my life. Which is why I went to college and got my Bachelor’s. But I was always a dreamer. (I have "daydreamer" tattooed on my body.) So, it’s extremely important for me to see it all the way through, to show people that I knew I could, and I did, but mostly I do it for the little girl inside of me that never let me give up.

“Nothing Changes, If Nothing Changes…”-Author unknown

April “A.P” Roberts

SM-What message are you hoping to get across to the people by doing what you do?

Here’s my message: “If nothing changes, nothing changes.” My name is April “A. P. Roberts. I was born and raised in the church. I love God and have all my life. He is my rock and I call on Him every day. I trust Him in all things that I do. I am a believer. I say all that to say this. Don’t get it twisted. Do not think that my platform goes against prayer; it doesn’t. It goes with prayer. Mental health disorders and diseases are real!

Seek professional therapy, counseling, and guidance in addition to prayer. I said it before and I will end by saying it again: Prayer and meds work!

SM-Tell us about what you’re promoting and the details around it?

I am promoting my first book (as I am celebrating its first anniversary in publication). The book was written over the course of four years as part of my healing process and as a way to address a common thread of misdiagnoses and lack of awareness regarding mental health issues in the Black community.

SM- What's unique about this that separates it from the rest?

The unique nature of this book and my story is my transparency. My mantra is “if nothing changes, then nothing changes.” In the book, I addressed issues that might not have painted a pretty picture of me – as a person, as a parent, as a partner or friend. I didn’t sugarcoat a thing; I told the truth. My readers who provided book reviews often commented that they finished my book in one sitting. My response remained the same: “I told the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.” I never tried to win any awards or gain any pity. I was sick and even when I didn’t know “what” was wrong, I still knew that something was wrong; I just couldn’t fix it on my own. I didn’t want to cover up another thing in my life. This book allowed me to expose everything that needed to be uncovered so I could get well. It wasn’t written to end like a fairy tale, it was written like how I wanted to live: A CALL TO ACTION! Get it together, April!

SM- Who was a part of this project that contributed to its success?

Ironically, this project was incorporated into a mentoring agreement. Referred by a friend to a no-nonsense mentor, I started working with Toni Woolridge who also happened to own Faith Work Publishing, LLC.

When I mentioned to Toni that I was writing a book in November 2021, I only had one chapter written. Under her mentorship, I had a completed manuscript in 90 days, and the book: Manic Butterfly – The Journey Behind My Smile, was published under her imprint on my birthday in April 2022. Accountability was and continues to be an absolute must in my relationship with Toni Woolridge and FaithWork Publishing, LLC. This bond is something that we share and hold dearly because it’s true, fair, and worth the blood, sweat, and tears we have shed to build.

SM- What is the inspiration behind what you do?

I am inspired by my boys (my sons) to tell my story. I chose my book as a platform to share this story as my sons have seen the worst of me and now, I want them to see the best of me. Many of my past actions have been attributed to misdiagnosed mental health disorders which appeared as erratic behavior and impulsive, impractical parenting. To them (and others), it seemed like I didn’t care and often didn’t know what I was doing. Once I received proper care, treatment, and counseling, I had the tools to be a better Mother. Now I am a better person…a better Mother. I want them to see that. I want the world to see that. I want others in my past situation to know that they can come up from the darkness that they may be in now by just reaching out and seeking the help they may not even know they need.

SM- Why is this so valuable to you? And why now?

First, let’s address what “this” is. For me, “this” is the focus on mental health awareness. This is so valuable and important to me because of the stigma that has been attached to it, specifically in our community for so long. We have been told and taught that we can just ‘pray everything away’ and that is simply not the case. Prayer and meds work, too. It is important to me now because even after the book was first published, I suffered from an unexpected bout of depression. I was wrecked about “all of sudden” having the world know every one of my flaws. Within this year, I had to address additional reasons to grow, heal, protect my peace…and my sanity. Promoting my book and its platform is very valuable now because on its one-year anniversary from its inaugural release, I want to reach even more readers – those who still need to know that it is important to seek counsel, therapy, and the path to redemption for themselves.

SM-What are some other things people can expect from you in the near future?

So much has happened since the book was released in April 2022, I am currently working on turning my book into a screenplay for Manic Butterfly – The Journey Behind My Smile. Expect more speaking engagements (after COVID restrictions are truly lifted), book signings, chapter readings, and so much more. Stay tuned, A. P. is on the move, y’all!

It’s cool to be popular, it’s amazing to be different.

SM - Tell us about what you’re promoting and the details around it? My second single "Early Intro" and my upcoming artistry. I'm just starting as a pro artist. I have performed in festivals and at concerts. And I’m always looking for ways to get my brand known.

SM - What's unique about this that separates it from the rest? I'm not about, nor do I promote violence. I’m about to try to have a good time. And most of my music reflects that.

SM - Who was a part of this project that contributed to its success? Man, I'm glad I write my own music. It’s definitely a process. My engineer and producer buddies get me sounding right though.

SM - Why is this so valuable to you? And why now? Music has been my life since I was a child. It took me a long time to start, but now I’m finally here and ready to be a problem for other artists.

Black Cards of History is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to promoting awareness of Black history through podcasting, trivia, and more. Founded by a young writer and web/graphic designer, he strongly believes that education is key to achieving social justice, Black Cards of History seeks to inspire people of all ages to learn about the significant contributions that Black people have made throughout history. With his engaging podcasts and fun trivia games they aim to bring history to life and make it accessible to everyone. Through their work, Black Cards of History hopes to create a more inclusive and just society, one that values the contributions of all people, regardless of race or ethnicity.

SM- What message are you hoping to get across to the people by doing what you do?

1. Black history is world history, and we must understand and appreciate the significant contributions that Black individuals have made throughout history. 2. By promoting awareness and understanding of Black history from the trivia and game show aspect, we hope to combat racism (and colorism), discrimination, and prejudice, and promote greater social justice. 3. We hope to inspire people of all backgrounds to celebrate and appreciate the many different cultures and traditions that make our world so rich and vibrant.

SM- Tell us about what you’re promoting and the details around it?

Black Cards of History have two (and a half) exciting projects that we are thrilled to share with you: a podcast and a game show. Our podcast is an engaging and educational series that delves into the lives and accomplishments of notable Black individuals, highlighting their contributions and inspiring listeners to learn more about Black history. Our game show is a thrilling and fun-filled trivia contest that puts players' knowledge of Black history to the test. Teams of contestants compete to answer questions about Black history and culture. Our game show is a great way to learn more about Black history while having a blast with friends and family as we get ready to make official trivia decks to launch and sell.

SM- What's unique about this that separates it from the rest?

What sets Black Cards of History apart from other organizations promoting Black history is our unique approach to education and engagement. True that other non-profits have podcasts (I would know - I host 3 different ones at once - one of the non-profit, one about Dead Sea salt and its benefits, and one for giving advice for small businesses), but it is our focus on trivia and games that allow us to make learning about Black history fun and interactive, engaging people of all ages and backgrounds in the process while bringing the diversity together. Our trivia-based approach to education not only makes learning about Black history entertaining, but it also helps people retain information better. Through our games and trivia contests, we create a safe and welcoming space for people to learn and engage with Black history without feeling intimidated or overwhelmed. Think about it - how many non-profits (whether Black-oriented or not) can you name: a. Have a game show let alone a TV show? b. Has a trivia aspect on promoting their non-profit?

c. Have trivia decks of their non-profit to promote themselves in an educational aspect? Additionally, Black Cards of History stands out for our commitment to accuracy and inclusivity. We strive to ensure that our educational materials are factually correct and that we represent the full diversity of Black culture and history, which will include the trivia decks along with future educational material to be released and debuting soon while making sure everything is well-researched and accurate.

SM-Who was a part of this project that contributed to its success?

The decision by the FDOE (Florida Department of Education) and Governor Ron DeSantis to reject, whitewash, and ban AP African American Studies from being an official course in Florida is deeply troubling. The claim that this course lacks educational value and is a form of political indoctrination is not only inaccurate but also an affront to the rich history and culture of Black people. That's where Black Cards of History comes in and I started on this before I saw the news about the course. We are dedicated to making Black history fun, entertaining, and educational for kids, young adults, and even adults. Through our unique approach to education and engagement, we seek to fill the gap left by the FDOE's decision and inspire a love of learning about Black history and culture. We believe that education is key to combating ignorance, intolerance, and racism (and even colorism), and we are committed to making a positive impact in the world by promoting awareness and appreciation for Black history and culture.

SM- What is the inspiration behind what you do?

So, when I started The Sterling Studies, an online blogging/copywriting and web/graphic designing business, I originally started making some study guides, as PDF, to sell with one of the topics was Black history. By the business's one-year anniversary, I wanted to think about what to change things up so that the Black history study guides got some spotlight. I originally was working on them by creating a small business in which I sell Black history-related trivia decks. While in the process of working on them, I was recommended to turn the small business into a non-profit and a game show at the same time, which was ironic since I always grew up with game shows and always wanted to be on one, but sadly got on one yet still. So, thanks to the recommendation, just before I filed it as a small business, I filed it as a non-profit instead.

SM- Why is this so valuable to you? And why now?

In today's world, where the fight for racial justice and equality continues to be a pressing issue, the need for organizations like Black Cards of History has never been more important. By promoting Black history and sharing the stories of Black individuals who have made significant contributions to our society, we can help to inspire and empower future generations to create a more just and equitable world. Black history, from a trivia aspect, is an important and valuable tool for promoting awareness, education, and celebration of the rich history and culture of Black people. By learning about the struggles and achievements of Black people throughout history, we gain a deeper understanding of their experiences and can work towards greater empathy and understanding.

What are some other things people can expect from you in the near future?

As a non-profit organization, we are committed to continuously educating people about the rich and diverse history of Black culture. In the near future, people can expect us to expand our reach by offering more events, workshops, and educational resources for all ages. We also plan to launch a new podcast series that will feature interviews with experts in various fields of Black history, as well as more trivia games and contests to engage and challenge our audience. Additionally, we are working to establish partnerships with schools and community organizations to provide even more opportunities for people to learn and engage with Black history. Overall, our goal is to continue promoting and celebrating Black history in fun, engaging, and educational ways.

“Have

You Heard A Black Man Vent Today?” ™️

Black Men Vent Too Podcast (Johnathon & Leon Davis, Jr.)

SM-What message are you hoping to get across to the people by doing what you do?

Often times, as black men, we get overlooked when we have a voice that needs to be heard as well. Black Men Vent Too, LLC. prides ourselves on being “the voice for the voiceless” amongst our culture. Each episode we aim to create content on the unknown, undermined, and unforeseen struggles of black men in hopes that their testimony will help the next black man face their own adversities with confidence.

SM-Tell us about what you’re promoting and the details around it?

We are promoting our brand by promoting our podcast. The title of the podcast is "Black Men Vent Too", and here is a little bit of details about us: My name is Johnathon Davis and alongside my dad, Leon Davis, Jr., together we host a podcast titled "Black Men Vent Too" here in Nashville, Tennessee. Here's the "catch" ... we are a father-and-son duo that has created a multicultural platform to give you both the millennial perspective and "old school" perspective on various topics surrounding the mental health of black men. We are both from Nashville, have seen the city grow immensely over the years, and knew we wanted to provide something culturally for the city to follow and be proud of. Especially when we're talking about our black men here, we knew a greater cause was needed.

SM-What's unique about this that separates it from the rest?

We believe what makes us unique is that in Nashville, we stand right as the only father-and-son duo podcast in the city that advocate for discussing mental health in black men. With that niche, we have found creative ways to integrate ourselves in our city so that we truly have the support of those that see our vision. BMVT has participated in vending events in Nashville where we’ve sold merchandise like hoodies, sweatpants, and T-shirts to continue building that supportive foundation within our brand. Within a year and a half of our existence (August 2, 2021), we’ve sold 50 of our branded hoodies to fans all across the United States!

SM-Who was a part of this project that contributed to its success?

Valerie Davis - My mom but also our appointed manager, she has been a huge help in the creativity of the brand from the start. She helps myself and my dad with cueing on the set of the show, and pitches in where needed to make our podcast an overall success. Leon Davis, Jr. - The second half of the podcast/brand, my dad. He has been the “old school” soul that gives you both a spiritual component as well as a wisdom-led commentary that even comes with a little sense of humor. My dad is my twin at eyesight. He is my father first, but my best friend right after. Leon oversees the audio work within the episode as far as making sure we have mic checks, no audio I references, etc. He also appoints and suggests guest that are within his age bracket who would be best fitting for the show while I

look for those within my age bracket to see who would be best fitting for the show. Joshua Davis - My little brother, who always has two cents to throw into our ideas as well. He is responsible for sharing all social media content to his already large following from his award-winning body building content. We truly are a family business that started with just an idea, and has grown into a multicultural, multifaceted brand that focuses on open and opinionated conversations by way of a podcast to focus on the mental health in our men.

SM- What is the inspiration behind what you do? Our inspiration is what we see daily on the news, social media, and other areas where black men are continually not being heard behind those things that bother us most. We have to make uncomfortable conversations, comfortable when discussing things that affect our mental health as men. Often times, as black men, we get overlooked when we have a voice that needs to be heard as well. The Black Men Vent Too Podcast prides ourselves on being “the voice for the voiceless” amongst our culture. Each episode we aim to create content on the unknown, undermined, and unforeseen struggles of black men in hopes that their testimony will help the next black man face their own adversities with confidence.

SM- Why is this so valuable to you? And why now? How often are we going to, as a culture, continually watch our black men die, go to jail, or their pictures are placed on a T-shirt before we decide to step in and have these conversations surrounding our mental health. Black on black crime is highlighted with no remorse, but what we don’t discuss is the traumas that surround these black men to where they feel the need to harm their fellow brother. We have to have these discussions now. We’re losing too many and some of our men and young boys could be saved if we would just give them a welcoming environment to “vent”. My father and I with every episode aim to provide that comfort so that our guests are able to speak boldly and with confidence on those things that bother them most.

SM- What are some other things people can expect from you in the near future?

A whole lot more content from the podcast with more surprise guests! The content will continue to be pumped out weekly, as we’ve done 95 consecutive episodes so far with no brakes, and none planned. Our consistency is our calling card, as we aim to show others who listen that if you remain consistent in anything you do, you will reap the benefits of hard work and a solid work ethic. We will continue to flood the city with our merch! Hoodies, sweatpants, beanies, t-shirts, keychain bottle openers, wristbands, and so much more!

Bill Minerr “It's the bandit!”

SM - What message are you hoping to get across to the people by doing what you do?

I'm sending a message to the world but mostly to all my underdogs that's been counted out, you can come back from anything. I went to the Feds for 12 years and I'm not allowing my past to dictate my future. I'm doing whatever it is to display my greatness. God gave me a talent and I'm giving it to the world! It’s the bandit!

SM - Tell us about what you're promoting and the details around it?

I'm promoting my first body of work and it's called project Bandit, 14 tracks will be on it and it's back to rapping, but this time it's bandit on the track not a dope boy or drill rapper.

SM - What's unique about this that separates it from the rest?

This project is really unique just because the culture never heard from a real rapper, it's usually some kid that's rapping about someone else's lifestyle but with me, it's me Bill Minerr AKA King Logo giving the people & the fans exclusive songs.

SM - Who was a part of this project that contributed to it’s success?

“American Pen Pushers” are my team, so most definitely they contributed to this project all around the board, from the creative side to the beats. My super producer (Jeff Webb), my dude (Dmarcodagreat), my guy’s (Shaker) (Rolex Dre) are all on “Project-BandiiT.” That's my team right there.

SM - What is the inspiration behind what you do? This project is inspired by my real life as a real Bandit... It motivates me and everybody that's on my team. I'm giving my people music to listen to. Let's Go!

SM - What are some other things people can expect from you in the near future?

The people can expect from Bill Minerr in the future is short films produced by my own company "BlackDoor87 Studio". I also have a clothing line coming called “H.E.I.S.T.” Merch is currently on standby ready to hit the streets like blue magic. It’s the BandiiT!

SM - Why is this so valuable to you? And why now? With this project, I'm making history! This is my contribution to hip hop, this is my flag that I'm planting in the ground for years to come, the fans will be able to go back and listen to a real bandit rap and not a made up person. I'm different all around!

“Because it’s God’s favorite number and that’s why I like it.”

Introducing JayDee Tha 1, an independent rapper coming out of Sacramento,Ca. Born in Los Angeles. Who’s love and fascination for music started at an early age. Growing up, he realized that his love for music was two fold: music gave him an outlet to ease the pain and proved to be very therapeutic. In the early 2000’s he set out to pursue his music career which landed him in a deal with an independent label Under the name of Young Jaydee. During his time there a compilation was released; a few years later, the label began to fall apart and he set out to make some noise of his own. Determined to keep his name out there 2 mixtapes were dropped. It was apparent that the rap game was changing, so Jaydee took a short hiatus. In 2016 Jaydee resurfaced and began making appearances on Q.allanz projects (and several others) in 2017. This new journey also prompted him to start his own record label, “Laced Up Entertainment” and he changed his name to JayDee Tha 1 to reinvent himself in 2018.

SM - What message are you hoping to get across to the people by doing what you do?

You can do anything you put your mind to and the topics I talk about let you know that you're not the only one going through these problems, the hurt & the pain.

SM - Tell us about what you're promoting and the details around it?

No Return the EP, that’s out now on all digital platforms, produced by me on “Laced Up Entertainment” with Mainline Music Distribution.

SM - What's unique about this that separates it from the rest?

My flow and what I talk about. I'm not rapping or doing what everybody is doing. I get it because that's what’s in but that's not what's in me.

SM - Who was a part of this project that contributed to its success?

Really no one. No Return has no features on the EP, everything is me.

SM - What is the inspiration behind what you do?

For me I look at it as a journal with a voice for everyone to hear. My thoughts, pain, love, frustrations ect. Also I'm a music lover. I was always into the culture.

SM - What are some other things people can expect from you in the near future?

Currently I'm working on my album, which I'm looking for a fall release and hopefully a group project but definitely my album is coming later this year.

SM - Why is this so valuable to you? And why now?

Years ago, I was with a label where I was helping artist get their projects done and doing verses, being a team player. A complaint came out and then the label fell apart. Kinda took the life out of me. I had a long break then one day I said, let me get back to what I always love doing and here we are.

The message that I would like to get across is that "It's never too late to right your wrongs, live your life for you & to the fullest, plus the hardest battles are giving to warriors it is an honor to defend your name, your reputation and legacy, and there is light at the end of the tunnel... when you think you are just starting your journey, being discouraged makes you human but it doesn't define your ending, stress keeps you old seeing the big picture keeps you young.

SM - Tell us about what you're promoting and the details around it? I'm promoting my two Urban Novels "Friends Lover's & Enemies Vol 1 & Friends Lover's & Enemies Vol 2, The Triangle Love Affair”. Friends Lover's & Enemies is a roller coaster ride, it has plenty of up's & down's between friends, lovers and your enemies. these books keep you on your toes... not only will you feel the excitement from the twist & turns from the drama but life Gems will be dropped keeping you into the book plus life learned lessons that can help you in the real world.

SM - What's unique about this that separates it from the rest? SM - What is the inspiration behind what you do?

My inspiration is my son Nybre' in 2013 I dealt with a tragic loss, losing my son to SIDS. It made me turn a negative into a positive which is how my career stayed successful.

SM - What are some other things people can expect from you in the near future?

Just me loving & appreciating my life... more books dropping, and probably some more music but mainly being behind the scenes more and helping others shine bright because lighting up other people's candles never dims my light.

SM - Why is this so valuable to you? And why now?

All my projects are valuable to me because my projects are my babies, when you have a child you want to put 100% into your baby to provide a better life from yourself, that's how I look at my projects only difference is I'll be showing the blueprint of how I changed my life turning negatives into positives, I feel like it's even more valuable now because I have built up my resume plus I've been on hold, this is just a heads up that I am always moving no matter what...I will always pick myself back up... fall down 9 times get up 10.

"Making a Difference in The Indie Creative Community" & N'Couraging And N'Spiring Through the Arts Everyday"

Durell Peart

Durell Peart is a speaker, artist manager, author, and music business consultant. He has over 17+ years of professional entertainment industry experience. He has worked within the areas of artist management, brand development, marketing, promotion, and consulting. He has worked mostly within the urban and pop genres but his skill set can be easily adapted to any genre of music. He made the decision to pursue a career within the music industry because the formula for success in the industry is predicated on loving people and the ability to build meaningful relationships.

Durell is a graduate of Full Sail University where he earned a Bachelors

Of Science Degree in Entertainment Business as well being named Valedictorian and Advanced Achiever. He started his second company Double N Management & Marketing Group, LLC in 2015, with the primary focus of being a positive advocate for indie creatives. After spending so many years as an artist manager and utilizing his relationships only for the creatives on his immediate roster, he felt that it would be a great idea to expand and help creatives that he wasn’t doing day-to-day management for. He also noticed what was lacking in a majority of the creatives was the lack of education they had in choosing to embark on a professional career as a creative.

Durell knew that he could make the greatest impact on his work with indie creatives by making their focus more about becoming global rather than being famous. The most important thing for creatives in today’s marketplace is to establish and execute a framework for building their own unique core audience rather than trying to appeal to everyone.

Durell has worked to expand his global profile establishing business partners all over the world. He has played a key role in helping to secure international touring opportunities for his artists ranging in territories including India, Spain, Luxembourg, and France. Durell has also secured exclusive digital distribution, licensing partnership deals with Sound Republica (Seoul Korea), Kanjian Music (Shanghai China), & Tune Afrique (Lagos Nigeria) which he can now use, as a vehicle to help indie artists build an audience globally. In January of 2020, Durell became an official partner of New Skool Rules, the number one urban music conference, and festivals in Europe (Rotterdam, Netherlands). He continues to provide value by aligning himself with strong global movements taking place in several international territories that support indie artists. Durell was born with a disability called Spastic Diplegia Cerebral Palsy in which he was diagnosed at the age of one. He has been fortunate over the years to be able to impact many people due to his Cerebral Palsy being mild. He is constantly using his voice to show others that even though living with a disability can be difficult at times it’s not impossible to live a normal and meaningful life. The special needs are filled with many who don’t have a platform and voice (literally) to share their concerns and how at times they can feel disconnected from those who can’t understand what it’s like to live with a physical or mental impairment daily. He will continue to work hard and use his voice and platform to be someone who can be their voice and advocate.

Durell has been featured in Brash Magazine, Urban Magazine, and as the cover story in Urban Grand Stand Digital Magazine: “The Power Issue” & We Are Jersey Magazine & Let Us Live Magazine Issue 2: Love Is Power Edition, Independent Artist Magazine, Where it Begins Magazine, IBA Success Magazine, “Grinda” Magazine Vol. 3, FORD Entertainment Magazine and Orlando Voyager Magazine for the work he does in helping indie creatives. Durell released his first eBook entitled “N’Courage & N’Spire: More Than a Hobby: Why I Chose to Carve Out My Own Unique Professional Path in The Music Industry” on March 8th, 2023. He looks forward to continuing to be a bridge for indie creatives worldwide as an advocate and speaker.

SM- What message are you hoping to get across to the people by doing what you do?

The message that I am hoping to get across to the people by doing what

I do is that walking with purpose and passion is key in building success. I chose to pursue my passion in the music industry because at the core of the industry it's truly all about people and relationships. I feel confident in saying that I have put in my time to learn the mastery of building relationships and loving people. I know that I am in a people industry, so I take it to heart that I need to maintain quality relationships for me to continue to serve my clients who are often indie creatives.

SM- Tell us about what you’re promoting and the details around it?

I am promoting my new eBook entitled "N'Courage & N'Spire: More Than a Hobby: Why I Chose to Carve Out My Own Unique Professional Path in The Music Industry. The reason I'm promoting my book is because I was born with Cerebral Palsy. I want to be an inspiration and show that there is a path for people with disabilities who want to work in the music industry but due to the lack of real opportunities most of us will never have the opportunity to pursue our dreams.

SM- What's unique about this that separates it from the rest? What I believe makes this unique is the fact that I couldn't pursue a traditional music industry job because I am unable to live in one of the top music industry cities (Los Angeles, Nashville, Atlanta, Miami, and New York). I knew what would help me be successful is my ability to build influential relationships with industry professionals that has given me the opportunity to partner with and extend global platforms that has continued to help me continue to make a difference helping indie creatives such as New Skool Rules (The Biggest International Urban Music Conference and Festival in Europe Rotterdam Netherlands) and carving out my path to success.

SM- What is the inspiration behind what you do?

The inspiration behind what I do as a speaker, music consultant and artist manager is to make a difference within the indie creative community. I have made it my mission to serve the 99% vs. the 1%. I look at what I do as service work. I feel that education is often the missing link for most new indie creatives. I consider myself to be in the music education business and even more an accountability partner to help the creatives I work with build success doing what they love.

SM- What are some other things people can expect from you in the near future?

Some other things that people can expect from me are more books as well as more public speaking engagements. I am all about sharing knowledge and insight to help indie creatives. As I mentioned earlier in the interview, I am in the music education business, so I have a mentorship and coaching program that helps indie creatives that is centered around helping them build a core audience called "The Genesis of Superfan Building. I have book concepts centered around this framework in which I share my thought processes in greater detail. I think about the fact that I am building a voice for the special needs community with my podcast The N'Courage & N'Spire Podcast powered by The Got What U Need Podcast Network where I talk about topics ranging from disability awareness and music business and I interview people who have stories that N'Courage & N'Spire me. I want to continue to position myself where I can use my platforms to shine light to people within the special needs community so having more speaking engagements, I think will allow me to do that.

SM- Why is this so valuable to you? And why now?

My book is important because I have wanted to share the details of my journey for a while because I know that few people have had my experiences. I feel that after reading about my path, those who are in position to help make a change to make a path for those with disabilities easier in the music industry will do just that in terms of creating real opportunities for success especially within the various executive positions that are available now and will be available in the future.

Myster7ousDJ

SM - What message are you hoping to get across to the people by doing what you do?

A potential client should want to invest in my services simply because I guarantee satisfaction. Through selections & narrations, that are tailored to suit my client and their Vision, I bring to life a musical journey with its desired effects the client wishes to achieve and then some.

SM - Tell us about what you're promoting and the details around it?

I am promoting an entire experience anytime anywhere you see & hear me. Whether it's virtual, radio, in real life you will always leave with a story to tell. I've always had a true love and passion for music. Being known for my musical background, creativity, and energy, this is what I combined to make me stand out from the rest. I started DJing to get a deeper relationship with music to speak to the inner peace of myself and share a little bit of it with everyone.

SM - What's unique about this that separates it from the rest?

What is unique about me as it relates to Djing is, I am delivering a picture of sound to the listener while narrating a story to engage the audience and enhance the experience.

SM - Who was a part of this project that contributed to its success?

Ahhh we are not The Lionz Den for nothing. I got some big steppas behind me that's gonna move with me and for me. They're gonna be solid with me whether I wanna hear it or not. Some from day one, some along the way to this point, the ones that love me, the ones that dont, as long as you're speaking about The Lionz Den and the experience it brings. It all contributes to our success because you make somebody new wanna come catch these vibezzz.

SM - What is the inspiration behind what you do?

For me, the inspiration I find in djing is the ability to express or convey emotions, feelings, moods and energy through sound. Personally , depending on the purpose. I.E weddings, graduations, birthdays, ect, I’m adding the soundtrack to their memories

SM - What are some other things people can expect from you in the near future?

I often forget to talk about Myster7ousDJ but focus more on Tha Lionz Den because it is an experience that embodies you from the beginning to the end. An enjoyable moment full of memories that can be shared a lifetime and then some. I have never been one to focus on me but others. The laughter, the music, the fun, and leaving with memories and stories to tell. That small time that we spend together is fulfilling for me but I want it to be the same for everybody that i have the pleasure of enjoying a moment of your life

SM - Why is this so valuable to you? And why now?

These past couple of years were tough times for everyone and we all deserved a place to escape. There has not been one person in the world who wasn’t affected in a great way by it. I personally needed a release and I knew the rest of the world did as well. I obtained my Bachelors in Business and Psychology. I started the Masters program but opted out of completing my course of study because working and paying my bills took priority. I was working out of town a lot and couldn't devote myself to my chosen field of study I also had to take a dose of reality and I realized that helping people I wanted it to be a choice and not a requirement. As I got older I learned that the entire world has a heavy heart and the path I chose would make me carry that weight. For those that know me and know how hard I love and care for others know that although I didn’t continue I am still pursuing that path but from a different angle. Music makes you move, it makes you happy, it makes you sad but in the end it's all a type of therapy, right? Why now, it's simple since the evolution of music it's been considered self expression and a release. We have always and will always need a release. An escape.

Jen Lo Self Love Is The Best Love!

Jenise Albritton, known as ‘Jen Lo’, was born and raised in Kinston, NC. She is an author, endurance speaker, and health and wellness coach. She has taken the world by storm with her creativity and takes an initiative approach to everyday life and business. She has had life changing experiences but found a way to endure through and move past them. February 10, 2013, she had a life changing car accident, breaking both ankles and hip. What was meant to take her life turned into a victory, birthing her organization Second Chance 21013, using her testimony to change lives. She believes financial freedom is the gateway to generational wealth and the freedom to live the lives we were destined to live. As CEO of Second Chance 21013, she has made an impactful social media presence helping people around the world one testimony at a time!

SM - What message are you hoping to get across to the people by doing what you do?

My message is, once you love yourself enough to know that you're worth fulfilling the vision and dreams God gave to you, you will see those things become and manifest in the real world. I hope to inspire others to share their stories and change lives one testimony at a time.

SM - Tell us about what you're promoting and the details around it?

I am promoting self love, growth, healing and being successful while doing all 3. As black woman, I feel that the focus is being a strong black woman. A woman who can take care of herself, pay all her bills, be successful, be the backbone for everyone but herself. However, self love gets left out. Women need to evaluate and self reflect more. Love the person in the mirror more and do it early in life in their youth. As an author and speaker, this is my subject, my heartwork of discussion.

SM - What's unique about this that separates it from the rest?

What's unique about what I do is the fact I'm still here to do it. The many times life has tried to take me out, God kept me here. To be honest, I almost didn't make it out of the womb. I'll share that story when it's time. I believe I'll call it 'The mistake that turned out great' when it's time to share that testimony. My passion and will to be engaged in the bigger vision, the global mission is what sets me and what I do apart.

SM - Who was a part of this project that contributed to its success?

This project called my life, was put together by God. He is the curator of my life. Along the way there have been some amazing people that have contributed. Mrs.Suzanne Peters, the CEO of the Woman To Woman Network has included me in several of her projects the last few years exposing me to new experiences and developing me as a speaker. My 'Atlanta Mom' Mrs. Gwen Stevens has been a part of my growth in opening up more to people. When I moved to Atlanta and was in my full introvert mode, she said to me 'You moved to Atlanta to model and act but you have a wall up. You're going to have to talk to people. Try at least speaking to people'. I took that advice and things opened up for me. I am also part of Black Speakers Network as a premium member with CEO Brian J. Olds. Being in the BSN Community is how I met Mrs. Peters and it has exposed me to some amazing people and information that has helped me in my personal development and speaking. One of the best investments I have made. There are more people that have contributed along the way and I am grateful for them and the opportunities I've been given.

SM - What is the inspiration behind what you do?

As I've gotten older into my 30's, I have discovered things I wish I'd known about or heard of in my teens or 20's. Believe it or not, I had not heard of self love, personal development or growth until my mid 30's. I grew up in the projects, in a home with tough love and bitterness. I didn't know about this thing called 'healing'. My parents divorced when I was 3 years old. I now look back and can see that what I experienced in my household was a product of unhealed wounds, lack of self worth and self love that made my environment so volatile as a child. I was a constant reminder of a failed marriage and I paid the price everyday as a child. As a result, I grew up not liking how I looked, how I felt about me because I couldn't love or accept me for who I was. That energy was sent out into the world and the world mimicked my emotions by not accepting me, picking on me, calling me blackey and more. My fights at home turned into fights with myself and others. My classmates couldn't show me love because I wasn't showing it to myself. My prayer since the age of 13 has been The Prayer of Jabez, for God to expand my territory. God gave me a strong testimony on February 10, 2013 that changed my entire life.

This also started my Second Chance 21013 journey. I have spent the last 10+ years healing, growing and learning to love me more while pursuing my dreams and goals.

SM - What are some other things people can expect from you in the near future?

My new book 'She Owned Her Story' will soon be released. It is a collaborative of women sharing their stories, owning their truths. It is a collaborative with the Woman To Woman Network with CEO Mrs. Suzanne Peters. I created a self love journal 'Love Yourself'. This journal helps to guide the thoughts from negative to positive. Available now. Touring with the stage play 'Sistah Oh My Sistah' via Head of My Life Productions out of New Jersey. The play is coming to my state of North Carolina and various places. New episodes on my podcast 'Real Talk With Jen', available now on Spotify, Anchor FM, Youtube and various other platforms. Follow on Instagram @JenLoInspires for updates on speaking engagements, events and more. Thank you!

SM - Why is this so valuable to you? And why now?

What I do is very valuable. 1 of my slogans is, 'Changing Lives one testimony at a time'. The last 10+ years, I have been sharing my testimony of how life almost took me out but God turned tragedy into victory. By sharing my testimony and pursuing my acting, modeling career that has spawned into many other things including being an author and speaker, people have watched and are watching me birth a vision I didn't even know was as big as it is. It has grown over the years. What I do is valuable to me because it's an answered prayer. Why I share this now is because people around the world need hope now more than ever! In a time where the world is changing unpredictably to many, predictably to those behind the controls, the world needs love. The people need to know their worth, that what they've been through has been the building blocks to who the great person God has destined them to be if they allow Him to get them there. If, they feel they are worth being that person. The world needs a hug, now! Right now!

SM - What message are you hoping to get across to the people by doing what you do?

Live your life for you not for anyone else. Screw who doesn't see your vision and goes against your dreams, when that happens it means to go even harder. Winners sit with winners that conversation will always be different when you know your worth and when you stand 10 toes on everything you believe in. Long as you have God no weapon formed against you shall ever prosper. People will always put their two cents in that dont mean you have to count that change and place it in your pocket. Have to do what's best for you, not anyone else. You have one life, make it the best part in the movie. We are what we create so create your existence and upgrade to living and not being dead weight. If your dreams piss people off that means you are on the right path. I plan on motivating the world and inspiring people like me and just in general. Spreading originality & self worth, know your worth because I know mine. Ladies choose you because you are a queen and real queens support each other. There shouldn’t be any competition, that's what you call a real sisterhood.

SM - Tell us about what you're promoting and the details around it? Music and Songwriting

SM - What's unique about this that separates it from the rest? There is only one me and what seperate me from the rest is I am about making sure that I stand out I am not about blending in with the crowd or keeping up with anyone but me and in my lane comfortably. I can write a song in a matter of 30 minutes, come up with the beat and barz and have remixed songs as covers where it has taken off and surprised the actual artist. I am a child of God determined to reach victory already promised to me already won and won’t stop until every goal is met. I am definitely a different kind of breed of them crabs in a barrel wanting different, wanting another way to complete my mission on completing what I've been put here to do. I am the best at what I do I believe in me and I am not a quitter. I am a fighter and still through all I have been through from losing my grandmother then my husband then my mother and still I stand, I am different as in I do things

differently. And I will win every time I walk by faith not by sight so it’s claimed ahead of time in Jesus name. Amen.

SM - Who was a part of this project that contributed to its success?

So many people but I have to say Tiffany Eli, my sister and my best friend, one of them stayed up all night putting in work, especially on cosmetics as she calls them. My brother Darius (stay woke), my pastor Keith… thank you just for your words and advice, my cousin Dennis for countless prayers and non stop showing up and riding till the wheels fall off for each of my projects. A Lot more I am forever grateful for helping me and backing me on many events.

SM - What is the inspiration behind what you do?

For starter's one of my most important inspirations begins with Jesus the son and definitely his father lol. I couldn't do anything without God and my success comes from him as he is first to give thanks and praises to. Another inspiration would have to be my mom, my angels Eleanor Green whom I lost recently and my grandmother Floris J Green, my papa who raised me and believed in me and stayed on my head faithfully to ensure I was heading in the right direction. I am blessed also to have my dad who has stood behind me when our own family turned against us. My dad’s side and especially my mother's side it’s what comes with the territory of being successful. It pushes me so I guess haters are another part of being an inspiration they definitely provide me with material so for that I am forever thankful. To my late husband, my king, my best friend who definitely was my number one supporter, best friends for 17 years, his music still inspires me as well as his heart, his love and the love we shared. Married 3/25/19 - 3/31/19 Tragically lost you. I love you and that continues. Grief has no expiration date, I am healing and still grieving inspired to keep going as you would want. Thank you for everything I love you so much. E&K.

SM - What are some other things people can expect from you in the near future?

“Haters really gon' be mad off my next deal” as my brother Jay Z would say it’s “on to the next one” whom I am in the works and working with on more music

who the world knows. My sis “B”, we speak on the regular now and excited about what’s to come. The Carters have been really more of my family and have been in full support . New music plus many more surprise music legends to come. I am grateful and humble in everything unfolding & it is a beautiful blessing . I have had the pleasure of being a successful ghostwriter to many and even worked with artists on the tv show series Empire and a host of other music groups and music acts so now it is just my time to shine as the creator, artist, and put Pen goat as my pen continues to hold many requests. Some of people’s favorite songs I am humble to be behind. Some I can’t mention due to contracts. Worked with big rap groups and artists worldwide and just ready for whatever the universe has for me will be what I carry out. Also movies are in the works so stay tuned and know I am coming to buy the building and the blocks for my people and guide and teach the youth. Our children are important and vital to keep away from a system that is meant to tear us

and break us so we must tend to kids watching and soaking up the wrong things. I have partnered with people who have youth conferences where we are creating an atmosphere to speak up and grow accordingly, coming later this year, different cities being worked on. A Lot of surprises made me so excited and happy my dreams I am living had come true.

SM - Why is this so valuable to you?

And why now?

Life is valuable in itself, it is about what you make of it. We have to align in a way where our mindsets meet our paths so when blessings cross our way we are ready for it and won't have to rush anything that is meant for us. With that being said it's my time more than it's ever been for me to continue to plant these beautiful seeds all over the world as God is directing me to do so. According to him it’s time for the world to have a part of Jayefloriss. I'm ready for what makes me happy and music gives me peace and healing so why not heal the world with my take on it.

Malisha Shields

I'm a corporate leader in the HR Benefits industry, where I have the privilege of shaping the health and well-being strategies of large organizations as a person of color. As someone who is acutely aware of healthcare disparities, this work is incredibly important to me. But despite my passion for my day job, my heart has always been in the world of fashion. During the pandemic, like many others, I found myself ordering clothes online in anticipation of the day when we could all venture outside again. However, I was disappointed to find that the boutiques I was ordering from often had inconsistent sizing and lacked transparency. I frequently found myself returning items or just accepting them as a loss. That's when I decided to take matters into my own hands and create styleMbellished. My goal is to provide a platform where women can find stylish, high-quality clothing that fits well and makes them feel confident. I believe that everyone deserves to feel great in what they wear, and I'm excited to be a part of making that happen.

SM - What message are you hoping to get across to the people by doing what you do?

My goal is to show women that online shopping can be a stress-free an enjoyable experience. I also want to dispel the notion that style must fit into predefined categories such as chic, street, minimal, maximal, or modern. In my opinion, style is an expression of one's personality, and I want every woman to view styleMbellished as a valuable resource that can help her define and express her unique style.

SM - Tell us about what you're promoting and the details around it?

We are presently showcasing our latest Spring Collection, which includes an array of fabulous pieces that can smoothly take women from spring to summer. Our focus has always been on providing high-quality apparel with distinctive features, hence the term "embellished". Moreover, we take pride in serving as a valuable resource for women to accomplish their style and fashion objectives.

SM - What's unique about this that separates it from the rest?

What sets styleMbellished apart and makes us truly unique is our commitment to transparency. As someone who is straightforward and direct, I have a personal issue with brands that are not honest about the sizing and quality of their products. In the fashion industry, especially in fast fashion, various factors affect sizing, making general sizing charts ineffective. That's why we provide detailed hand measurements for each of our products, believing that "The ISH must FIT!” Moreover, we conduct a thorough quality check of every item upon receipt from our manufacturers. For us, quality means that the material is not see-through,

there are no visible gaps at seams, the stitching is not loose, the hems of skirts and pants are finished and polished, and the clothing does not shrink or lose its shape after washing. If these quality standards are not met, we are always open and honest about it and will never sell subpar items to our customers.

SM - Who was a part of this project that contributed to its success?

Currently, I am the sole operator of styleMbellished. Nonetheless, I have the unwavering support of my husband and two daughters, who have provided their assistance in various ways. Towards the end of 2022, I made the decision to invest in a brand strategist (@brandesignconsulting), who has been an incredible motivator and helped me to take action. However, my pursuit of perfectionism coupled with the emphasis on quality has sometimes hindered my ability to move as quickly as I would like. To overcome this, I have also recently hired a professional photographer (@capturedbyjo) who has brought the vision of styleMbellished to life. Additionally, I have invested in hiring models, enabling me to gradually shift my focus from being the face of the brand to working behind the scenes. Indeed, building a brand takes a village!

SM - What is the inspiration behind what you do?

Our inspiration is simple. It's the empowerment of women! As women, some of us struggle to use our voices due to shyness, introversion, or upbringing. Nevertheless, styleMbellished aims to inspire every woman to use fashion as a means to express themselves and make a statement, one outfit at a time. Our mission is to empower women and encourage them to speak up through the power of fashion.

SM - What are some other things people can expect from you in the near future?

Our summer collection is set to launch in mid to late June or early July, just in time for the season of outdoor fun. We believe that vibrant colors perfectly capture the essence of summer, and we're excited to showcase them in our new collection. Of course, with the heat, some skin will be bared, but at styleMbellished, we prioritize being sexy with class rather than letting it all hang out. So, get ready for a summer collection that's both fun and stylish!

SM - Why is this so valuable to you? And why now?

As a woman of color, it is essential for me to speak up because I have experienced countless instances where my voice was ignored or silenced, solely based on my skin color or gender. In today's society, there are numerous ongoing events that serve as a constant reminder to women that our opinions hold no value. In light of this, I ask, why not now?

Quinton and Delores Salley “Wear Something That Means Something. The People Brand”

SM - What message are you hoping to get across to the people by doing what you do? Wear something that means something!

SM - Tell us about what you're promoting and the details around it?

We have been highlighting our brand to the world for over 5 years. 424 Fashionz was created for the culture and by the culture. With a brand that means a lot for many, The brand is all about loyalty. It means honoring our own beliefs. We want the world that you can truly wear something that means something, when it comes to any daily event. With original branding designs you can be comfortable dressing up or down for any event.

SM - What's unique about this that separates it from the rest?

The uniqueness of 424 Fashionz is the meaning behind it. As a company we understand that many people have their own style and their own way to express themselves through the clothes they wear. We stand out because we give people both fashion and a meaning.

SM - Who was a part of this project that contributed to its success?

There is a lot of people we can thank, our Creative Director Brandon Pleasant and

mentor Project Runway all star winner Anthony Williams, supporters like producers Brain Jones and also magazines and organizations like yourself that give people like us the platform to tell the world about our brand. However we have to give ourselves a pat on the back for the hard work and dedication we have put in this brand over the years. People always see the good side but always underestimate the hard times it takes to get to the good times. As a couple we work side by side to get things done. We are very strong level headed people whose passion can't be felt within everything we do. We also have to let you know it's nothing but God and the faith in a higher universe that brings us where we are today.

SM - What is the inspiration behind what you do?

This inspiration for 424 Fashionz came after CEO Quinton Salley finished a 13 year prison sentence. He was overcharged because we would not affect other people's lives for things he did. He kept true to himself and what he believed in. After years of fighting for his own release, he was granted immediate release. It wasn't easy, he wrote the Judge three times with #2 pencil explaining the laws that were broken when it came to his case, and how he was over-sentenced because he was not willing to lie on the

stand for something that wasn't true. He kept true to his beliefs and the meaning of 424. After being released, Quinton and Delores Salley, did a business Trademark on their business and started something that was bigger than them .

SM - What are some other things people can expect from you in the near future? More fashion shows even in London and more influencers wearing the brand to spread the word.

SM - Why is this so valuable to you? And why now?

Where do we start? This company is so valuable to us because of the meaning itself. It doesn't matter what your background, everyone has a belief system when it comes to your values and culture. Over the last several years we have been dealing with division within cultures. When it comes to the black culture we highlight a lot of fashion Ideas but Who is really standing up for us and the Black Families. We decided to take this journey because we are only 5% of the fashion industry but we consume more fashion than anyone else. 4II4 Fashionz will always be the brand that is for Culture.

SM- What message are you hoping to get across to the people by doing what you do?

At Escents of Hue, our primary goal is to create an impactful and meaningful experience for our customers. We strive to communicate the importance of quality natural safe products with our unique scents in enhancing overall well-being. Additionally, we aim to highlight the remarkable power of scents in influencing our emotions, moods, and overall well-being. By showcasing the diverse range of fragrances and their effects. We want to provide our individuals with the tools to create moments of joy, relaxation, and self-discovery.

SM- Tell us about what you’re promoting and the details around it?

Escents of Hue will be celebrating 1 year in our in-store location this month. We will also be celebrating 3 years in business in July. With that we will be promoting our new candling making parties. We are super excited about this. The parties will allow those who are interested in candle making to learn the process while enjoying the company of their family and/or friends.

SM- What's unique about this that separates it from the rest?

The unique thing about it is gathering with people you know and love to create something magical. Candle pouring is so therapeutic and the process can get very creative. There are other options for group activities such as paint parties. Like painting, making candles can be just as creative when it comes to determining the fragrances you want to mix and use.

SM- Who was a part of this project that contributed to its success?

The biggest contributor is my mom. She has been a major contributor to not only this, but Escents of Hue as a whole. My mom is very supportive of my thoughts and ideas. There are times when I am not too sure about a concept and I run it by her for an honest opinion. So, when I told her I was ready to offer the parties she said OK let me know what I can do. Even if that meant traveling to Tallahassee from my hometown of Ft Lauderdale to offer her assistance during the parties. My other contributor is my daughter, she is more like my cheerleader. She is my voice of reason, when I think something is too much or I'm biting off more than I can chew. She is there to say “mom you got this” or “come on mom we have to get this done”. My daughter is what one would call my hype girl, she never allows me to see the obstacle, just victory.

SM- What is the inspiration behind what you do?

Our inspiration is to provide safe quality products while promoting self-care. While many candle companies focus solely on scent, we go beyond that by infusing our candles with intention, purpose, and artistry. Each candle is meticulously handcrafted using premium soy wax and infused with carefully curated oil blends that have been expertly chosen to evoke specific emotions and moods. We don't just want to fill your space with pleasant aromas; we want to create an immersive journey that transports you to a place of tranquility, inspiration, or pure bliss. Through our carefully curated products, we aim to convey the message that selfcare is not a luxury but a necessity. We want individuals to understand that taking time for themselves and prioritizing their mental and physical health is essential for leading a fulfilling and balanced life.

SM- Why is this so valuable to you? And why now?

I have been thinking about this since the beginning as something I wanted to offer in my area. Since I have been in my store location, I have the space to make it happen. Offering candle parties brings value by creating engaging experiences, fostering social connections, facilitating skill development, enabling personalized gifting, and potentially opening doors to business opportunities. It combines enjoyment, creativity, and education into a single event, leaving participants with a sense of fulfillment and a deeper appreciation for the art of. Not to mention, we do not really have candle pour parties in my local area. I have asked by multiple people if we offered it or when will we offer. The time is now for the candle pouring to come to Tallahassee, FL.

SM- What are some other things people can expect from you in the near future?

In addition to the candle parties, they can expect to see our Touch of Escents skin care collection expanding. We currently have skin moisturizer (lotion) and massage candles in that collection, but more is to come. I am excited for the future of Escents of Hue and the direction that we are going in. There are a few other things that I am working on but I will keep them to myself for now.

SM- What message are you hoping to get across to the people by doing what you do?

Tips: 1. Keep writing! start writing for your college or local newspaper. 2. Network with other people in your field. No one will not know who you are unless you put yourself out there. The next person in your circle may present your next opportunity, big or small. 3. Take more risks, do not play it safe. You have to be comfortable with being uncomfortable. 4. Believe in yourself and your craftsmanship. 5. Constant work on your craft, I don't care if you have been a writer for 5 or 10 years; there is always room for improvement and growth. 6. Do not burn bridges, character is EVERYTHING! You do not get a second chance to make a first impression. 7. Intern during your time as a college student. You will learn so much about yourself professionally and personally. 8. Do not be afraid to step outside of the box, do not be afraid to be weird.

SM- Tell us about what you’re promoting and the details around it?

I released my first book, a biography on Jon B, titled: Are You Still Down in Fall 2020. Although published independently, "Jon B: Are You Still Down" was an Amazon Hot New Release in One Hour Biography and Memoirs Short Reads. It was featured in Book Authority's 7 Best New R&B Music Books to Read in 2021. I am currently promoting my new book, "The Whole Entrepreneur." It is a collaborative book that brings together a wealth of knowledge and experience from successful entrepreneurs, coaches, and business owners. With a focus on strategies for achieving success in all aspects of life, including business, career, wellness, and life balance, this book is an invaluable resource for anyone looking to build a successful and fulfilling life as an entrepreneur.

SM- What's unique about this that separates it from the rest?

Throughout the book, readers will find insights and tips from some of the most successful entrepreneurs, coaches, and business owners in the world. From Silicon Valley executives to wellness experts, these contributors share their knowledge and experience to help readers achieve success in all aspects of their lives.

SM- Who was a part of this project that contributed to its success?

19 entrepreneurs, including book visionary, Taurea Vision Avant. It has contributed to my success because I am improving my skills as a public speaker. Along with myself and 19 authors, we're learning to speak effectively, and how we can sell our books prior to launching and once the book has been officially released. I am so eager to work with Taurea and her team for my future books because I am always eager to learn and how to generate more revenue as an author outside my work as massage practitioner.

SM- What is the inspiration behind what you do?

I discovered that writing was a gateway to my healing process when I was about nine years old. I suffered an asthma attack that I nearly lost my life. It was a wakeup call for my family and myself because kids can be stressed out emotionally as well. Stress can sabotage your body only if you let it, you have to be in control and don’t take life over consume you. Therefore, my temperament would change once I jot down my feelings and emotions. I can control my thoughts or not have a filter when I am feeling despondent and vulnerable. My love affair with writing began on that day. My mom and my fourth & fifth grade teacher were concerned with the technical adjustments such as reading, writing, grammar, & extensive speech services since I was hearing impaired for the first four years of my life. As a result, I entered different contests and I was an honorable mention before I was a teenager. Instead of acting out, writing became my tool when I needed emotional support and encouragement metamorphically. Rebellion can only go but so far so it was a necessary implement when I had those Quique’s moments in my life.

SM- Why is this so valuable to you? And why now?

"The Whole Entrepreneur" is a must-read for anyone looking to build a successful and fulfilling life as an entrepreneur. With its practical advice, inspiring stories, and comprehensive approach, this book is sure to become a go-to resource for entrepreneurs and business owners everywhere.

SM- What are some other things people can expect from you in the near future?

I am releasing my forthcoming book collaborative project, The Whole Entrepreneur in Fall 2023. You can preorder the book in advance. If you're one of the first 50 people to pre-order you'll have an honorable mention in the book and a VIP ticket to the virtual book launch in fall 2023. The next 50 people will still get an autograph copy of my book and a thank you bag. Here is the link to pre-order the book. https://buy.stripe.com/dR67vU3E85bV5JmcMM I plan on writing about my journey as a massage therapist; it will be informative but entertaining. And then maybe when I am 40 years old, I will write a memoir about my life. The title of my memoir would be The Journey from Silence. The title stems from an article I completed for Education Update while I was completing graduate school.

Conversations for Couples

Julie and David Bulitt

SM- Tell us about what you’re promoting and the details around it?

As a family therapist and family/divorce lawyer, we have seen relationship strife and conflict from very different perspectives. We lean on our decades of professional experience as well as our own personal struggles to help and promote healthy communication and increased connection for couples.

SM- What's unique about this that separates it from the rest? There are lots of "experts" out there who look good on social media but the only real expertise they have is that they are in a relationship and skilled at promoting themselves. Julie is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and David an experienced and trained family and divorce lawyer. We are able to look at issues that couples face through the eyes of professionals.

SM- Who was a part of this project that contributed to its success? Our family and friends are supportive and certainly the couples who allowed us to interview them and come into their lives enabled us to write our second book. Aside from that, the two of us have worked long hours on our projects, usually on nights and weekends when we are not working at our "day jobs."

SM- What is the inspiration behind what you do?

It struck us that if we can share our own observations and experiences, we can help couples navigate the challenges and struggles that we all face in our relationship. That was the jump-off point for our first book, "THE FIVE CORE CONVERSATIONS FOR COUPLES." We then took our work a step further and dug deeper with couples who have experienced life's most significant difficulties - death of a child, addiction, infertility, mental illness and more - in our new book "SECRETS OF STRONG COUPLES."

SM- Why is this so valuable to you? And why now? Our goals are basically twofold: One, to provide real life guidance and support to couples in the hope that by doing so, their chances of long-term success improve. Two, we want people to understand that they are not alone - all of us in a relationship face tough days, difficult spots, highs and lows - there is strength and comfort in understanding that you are not the "only ones."

SM- What are some other things people can expect from you in the near future?

Secrets of Strong Couples is being released on June 13, 2023. We continue to appear on local TV, podcasts and radio programs talking about relationships and the work we do. We also are regular event and retreat speakers and maintain a couples coaching practice where we work with couples in a goal-oriented approach to sustain and improve their relationship.

"1330 you the realest"

1330

Using music as a canvas, KNG PASTOR aka 1330 vividly paints a picture of life, love, and the pursuit of a better tomorrow. Upon releasing 5 independent singles that showcased his unique lyrical ability, 1330 has gained a worldwide following. 1330's goal is to release songs independently that showcases his diverse musical talent.

Born and raised in the Flatbush section of Brooklyn, New York, 1330 stayed close to both the good and bad side of inner city living. After being incarcerated for 12 months as a Juvenile, he moved to Broward County Florida. It was here where he was exposed to Soul music and Southern culture. 1330 later moved to Washington, DC, Dallas, Virginia, Maryland, and Durham. Having this unique living experience allowed him to see the world through a wide lens.

In July 2019, 1330's younger brother passed away. It was through this tragic event where he felt the need to express his recent loss. Although not completely sold on the idea of returning to music and becoming a music artist, 1330 found a voice message from his late brother urging him to write music again. Knowing that 1330's true passion was writing music he encouraged his brother through voicemail to follow his dreams. This message was very personal but we hope that one day 1330 will share this with the world. 1330 continues to release quality music for both current and potential listeners to enjoy.

SM- What message are you hoping to get across to the people by doing what you do?

I'm truly trying to inspire the younger generation. I hope to be a mentor of many one day.

SM- Tell us about what you’re promoting and the details around it? I would like the opportunity to speak to people who can appreciate the ups and downs of life through music. I really put my heart and experiences into what I write and much like day and night, they both deserve shine.

SM- What's unique about this that separates it from the rest? I don't know what separates me, I just know that I'm always going to speak from the heart.

SM- Who was a part of this project that contributed to its success? I one day hope to have a team but for right now I'm mainly self-maintained.

SM- What is the inspiration behind what you do?

Honestly, I make music become to love to. I was once a struggling artist at one point and I made songs that were targeted for radio. Nowadays, I'm humbled to say that I just make music straight from the heart.

SM- Why is this so valuable to you? And why now?

If I didn't have the ability to make music I would be unbalanced.

SM-What are some other things people can expect from you in the near future?

I'll be focusing on an album soon. For now, I'll be dropping a single monthly so lock in!

Lowkey Afrika

SM- Tell us about what you’re promoting and the details around it?

Joining Rome Empire Music Group Africa and releasing my first single titled 'Higher' at the end of May through the label. With Rome Empire being a label in California, we want to create traction around the label in South Africa starting in Cape Town where Lowkey Afrika was born.

SM- What's unique about this that separates it from the rest?

My main genre is Afro Soul, but I personally feel like I don't have the typical "afro' voice in my approach. I've always wanted to created my own sound within afro because I’ve always wanted to stand out. When people book me for gigs or want to feature me on a song, I want them to have the mindset of "He's different". Having live elements in the track such as guitar and percussive drums, it takes the listener on a journey as all these elements elevate throughout the track.

SM- hoping to get across to the people by doing what you do?

The message I'm trying to convey is that even with all the mental warfare’s that life has to offer, giving up is never an option. I have been doing music for 6 years professionally in the industry and even though this is just the tip of the iceberg, I've faced so many challenges and mental warfare’s that have only helped me elevate as an artist and help shape me into being someone who is 100% confident in what I do, even when people say "no" and don't see my vision. The answer to any difficult situation in life is to never give up because not everyone will see what you see, or hear what you hear but at the end of the day what matters is that we stay true to ourselves as creatives.

SM- Who was a part of this project that contributed to its success?

This is one of the first projects that I produced alone, that includes laying guitars and the overall composition of the

track, but there were certain people that played small but crucial roles in the track such as Seth Grey who I recorded certain vocal parts of the track with, Xkeys who helped with the ultimate vision of the song with his African approach, Dillon April who mixed and mastered the song also adding valuable ideas when it came to mixing and Machent Management who is pushing the song commercially in places like radio and television.

SM- What is the inspiration behind what you do? Music saved my life. It's my language that I speak and use to communicate to people who have been through similar situations or can relate to certain aspects of life. What inspires me is how melodies and harmonies, or lyrics can have so much power in our emotions and how we perceive life, helping others by making them move, sing and feel the music. Taking them on a journey and seeing them absorb the music and vision I put out into the world inspires me and gives me the drive to create more.

SM- Why is this so valuable to you? And why now? Music is really all I know, I make a living through music, whether it's live performances, working in studio, sound engineering for other artists, producing or songwriting, it’s all part of showing my love for music. By being a part of Rome Empire Music Group, I can take my passion and get more reach internationally and show more of the world who I am and what I stand for. With the South African industry being where it is right now reaching more ears, this is the perfect time to take Lowkey Afrika to the world.

SM-What are some other things people can expect from you in the near future?

People can expect more music from the heart and more motivation to be who you are. Providing the world with my sound and doing that on the highest level possible. Performing with my live African band and giving people high energy performances throughout the whole set. Music videos that capture who I truly am and just having fun throughout this journey.

“Blessings all around”

Keeping our vision framed in culture. No filter and No Shade.

Lysandra Perez-Brown

SM- What message are you hoping to get across to the people by doing what you do?

The journey to true happiness is being authentic and staying true to yourself while nurturing your attainable goals.

SM- Tell us about what you’re promoting and the details around it?

At Khandie Woo LLC, I specialize in wearable art, with a focus on my signature lensless frames. Each frame is hand-detailed in African fabric or other unique materials, making them a one-of-a-kind statement piece. My motto is "KEEPING OUR VISION FRAMED IN CULTURE... NO FILTER & NO SHADE," which embodies my brand's essence.

SM- What's unique about this that separates it from the rest?

My Lensless Eyewear line is hand detailed with an artist flair. The exclusivity of having a one-of-a-kind item that can match your outfit to the “T” is what makes them stand out. The manufactured line is an independent design made of quality acetate and provides blue light filter lenses. This line is a limited-edition collection that commemorates a vision turned reality for a women owned business that started off making jewelry in a Brooklyn basement.

SM- Who was a part of this project that contributed to its success?

All my collaborations with photographers, models and designers have played a part in my growth. Being able to work with individuals who have passion and drive along with respect for the process in key to a successful journey.

SM- What is the inspiration behind what you do?

The story behind Khandie Woo LLC is rooted in a mission of self-acceptance and healing through creativity. I realized that I could not allow childhood traumas from school and home define what the rest of my life would be like. I’ve always had faith in God and what was promised to me. This mindset gave me the courage to be consistent in developing myself and a brand I could be proud of and respect.

SM- What are some other things people can expect from you in the near future?

Currently I have started a podcast called Lensless with Khandie Woo' where I highlight some interesting brands and artists. Giving a platform for them to talk to me about their experiences with Khandie Woo eyewear and their success stories with their brands. I’m also very excited about a collaborative color block collection called Marie Driven by Khandie Woo®️ with Marie Driven a PR specialist and cofounder of Playbook MG. This collection consists of a limited edition set of threecolor combinations and an all-black half frame Cateye. Last but not least I am one of the Sponsors for a Plant based picnic event called Plantnic 2023 in the Bronx. Being able to share my work and experience how my energy helps the community grow is priceless to me.

SM- Why is this so valuable to you? And why now?

I believe that style is a form of self-expression. Being able to embrace one’s own authentic personality plays a large part in how we feel about ourselves and how other view us. When you are viewed as confident and happy with who you are it makes you unstoppable. I promote positive self-image to young people and adults alike.
