HeidelbergCARD The HDCARD offers free travel on public transport such as buses, trams and approved trains of the Rhine-Neckar public transport system (VRN) in Heidelberg. It also entitles you to a return trip by funicular railway to Molkenkur as well as one-time entry to the castle courtyard, the barrel cellar, the German Pharmacy Museum and the Student Prison. In addition, there are numerous discounts on city tours, gastronomy, shopping and cultural activities. The HeidelbergGuide with city map is also included. Choose from:

The HeidelbergCARD includes Castle ticket including funicular railway
In addition to the HeidelbergCARD you receive the castle ticket. This ticket combines a funicular railway trip and castle visit in one thrilling experience! Your visit starts relaxed and eco-friendly at the funicular station in the Old Town (Kornmarkt). The ticket includes a return journey on one of Germany’s most modern electric funicular railways, via the castle station right up to the Molkenkur station as well as one-time admission to the castle courtyard, the barrel cellar and the German Pharmacy Museum.

One-time free admission to the Student Prison
Visit the former Student Prison of Heidelberg University. From 1778 until 1914, students were punished for “trivial offenses” here. Many prisoners spent the time immortalizing themselves on the walls with their portraits and inscriptions. These “artworks” can still be seen today. Free rides on public transport
The HeidelbergCARD entitles holders to travel on all the Rhine Neckar public transport system’s (VRN) buses, trams and authorized trains (in the case of DB: RE, RB and S-Bahn trains, all 2nd class) in the greater Heidelberg area (Heidelberg “Wabe 125” fare zone) for the duration of validity.
