Vivienda, turismo y servicios

Abrimos este periódico, esta edición de septiembre, con una notable noticia como es la aprobación inicial (el camino aún será largo hasta su momento preciso), para la construcción de más de 160 viviendas en Torreguadiaro, contando con cerca de un tercio de las mismas como Viviendas de Protección Oficial. Una alta demanda en este municipio desde hace años y que parece, con todo el proceso de nuevas urbanizaciones en el entorno, que puede arrancar con garantías y con apuesta de inversión.

Una apertura y descongestión necesaria para Torreguadiaro, así como para otros puntos del entorno y de la propia comunidad de Sotogrande con estas nuevas licencias. Pero en especial, también habría que centrarse que ese posible y probable incremento de población, residentes y demandas estructurales, debe estar en consonancia con un importante avance en infraestructuras y servicios.

El crecimiento de la población debe verse reflejado en servicios importantes como el sanitario (muy deficiente de personal en plena temporada alta de agosto); de limpieza, de seguridad y de otros muchos sectores que precisan contar con una importante cuota de protagonismo.

Los problemas de estacionamiento, el cierre de la bocana del río Guadiaro varias veces cada verano, la seguridad, la limpieza y otros puntos son necesarios para que esa vivienda y turismo caminen de la mano de un excelso servicio al residente. En todas las áreas, sólo en algunas determinadas no es suficiente.

Mientras tanto, menudas semanas de golf viviremos en la puerta de casa con la Solheim Cup en Finca Cortesín y más adelante con el EDAM 2023 en el ‘Real’. Se aproxima tormenta de golf, disfrútenla.

We open this newspaper, this September edition, with notable news, namely the initial approval (the path will still be long up to the precise moment), for the construction of over 160 homes in Torreguadiaro, with almost a third of them as Social Housing. A high demand in this municipality for years and it seems, with the entire process of new resorts in the area, that it can get underway with guarantees and the commitment of investment.

An opening and easing of congestion that is needed for Torreguadiaro, as well as for other parts of the area and the community of Sotogrande itself with these new licences. However, especially, it will also be necessary to focus on the possible and probable increase in population, residents, and structural demands, it needs to be in line with significant progress in terms of infrastructure and services.

The increase in population needs to also be reflected in important services such as healthcare (very deficient in terms of staff in the peak August season); cleaning, security, and many other sectors that need to have an important key role.

Problems with parking, the closure of the mouth of the Guadiaro river several times each summer, security, cleaning and other points are necessary to ensure that housing and tourism go hand in hand with exquisite service for residents. In all areas, only in some specific ones it is insufficient.

Es todo un clásico y ya un habitual, estrenar curso con la edición especial del mes de septiembre de El Periódico de Sotogrande, en la que se incluyen los datos y avances de la comunidad escolar en cada ejercicio. No tienen más que echar un vistazo a la separata central y cuadernillo de ‘Vuelta al cole’ en el que pueden ver, analizar y extraer varias conclusiones respecto a la comunidad escolar que se presenta este año en el Valle del Guadiaro, por contar de una manera obvio el entorno más inmediato que rodea a la urbanización de Sotogrande.

En primer lugar, como dato más llamativo, evidentemente destaca el total de la masa escolar que se mueve en las confluencias del resort. Más de 3.000 escolares (sólo hay que comparar los datos pre-pandemia en los que rozaban los 2.500 para sacar las primeras conclusiones), una cifra histórica y que cada curso se incrementa; lo que hace también crecer de una manera exponencial la oferta y la selección.

Esta misma finalidad, como segundo punto importante a tener en cuenta, es la de elevar la calidad. No teman en decirlo y presumir de ello. Sotogrande se posiciona en la actualidad como uno de los destinos más destacados a nivel nacional en la educación de alta calidad. Algunos de los centros más importantes y reconocidos de toda España están en la urbanización a dos paradas de autobús. Lo que hace crecer el escalafón del resort y convertir la educación en uno de los valores diferenciales del destino. Algo que atrae y buscan muchas de las familias jóvenes que a raíz de la pandemia se instalan en la zona.

Otro dato muy importante es el alto registro, por encima del 60% de estudiantes que optan por una educación privada; uno de los datos más altos del entorno y que da una buena lectura de la comunidad y sus inquietudes y necesidades de una educación de altísimo nivel. Todo ello, ayudado por los diferentes centros anexos en Costa del Sol, Campo de Gibraltar o incluso dentro del Peñón, extiende una oferta inigualable. Sólo hace falta ver que el vecino centro del Colegio San José, en Estepona, es uno de los más demandados de este entorno.

Todo ello se acompaña de muchos otros factores que convierten a Sotogrande en un valor muy importante: seguridad, tranquilidad, baja densidad de construcción, calidad de vida, lifestyle, etc. Pero sin duda, de unos años a la actualidad, la educación conforma uno de sus valores más importantes. Sigamos apostando por ello y por supuesto, también por la comunicación de todo ello. Hacer cosas importantes y no contarlas, es como si no existieran. Feliz curso a todos.

Firstly, as the most striking figure, what clearly stands out is the total school mass operating in the intersections of the resort. More than 3,000 pupils (you only need to compare the pre-pandemic figures which were close to 2,500 to draw the first conclusions), an historic figure and each year it increases; which also makes the offer and selection grow exponentially.

Don’t be afraid to say it and boast about it, Sotogrande currently stands as one of the most outstanding destinations nationally for high quality education. Some of the most important and renowned schools in all of Spain are in the resort two bus stops away. Which raises the level of the resort and turns education into one of the differential values of the destination. Something that attracts and is sought by the young families who, as a result of the pandemic, are settling in the area.

Another very important figure is the high number, over 60% students who opt for private education; one of the highest figures in the area and which offers a good reading of the community and its concerns and needs for very high level education. All of this, helped by the different adjoining centres in the Costa del Sol, Campo de Gibraltar and even within the Rock, presents an unmatched offer. You simply need to see that the neighbouring Colegio San José, in Estepona, is one of the most sought-after in the area.

All of this is accompanied by many other factors that turn Sotogrande into a very important asset: security, peacefulness, low building density, quality of life, lifestyle, etc. But undoubtedly, for a few years until present, education has been one of its most important assets. Let’s continue to commit to it and of course, also to communicating all of it. Doing important things and not reporting them, is as if they didn’t exist. Happy year to everyone.

Destaca de manera notable, del Pleno Ordinario de septiembre del Ayuntamiento de San Roque, la aprobación de una modificación puntual del PGOU que facilitará la construcción de más de 150 viviendas en Torreguadiaro, de las que 52 serán protegidas. El primer edil, Juan Carlos Ruiz Boix, respecto a esta modificación puntual del Plan General de

Ordenación Urbana relativa a unos terrenos situados en Torreguadiaro, aunque apuntó que “hasta aquí puede llegar el Ayuntamiento”, ya que la aprobación definitiva corresponde a la Comisión Territorial de Ordenación del Territorio y Urbanismo. Subrayó Ruiz Box que se plantea la construcción “de más de 150 viviendas”, de las que 52

serán protegidas. Para el alcalde, se trata de dar pasos para “romper el desequilibrio” que existe en San Roque desde 2018 relativo a la construcción de viviendas, ya que sólo se están edificando en urbanizaciones turísticas y con un precio que no resulta asequible para la mayoría de la población, mientras que no se hacen nue-

vas en los núcleos de población, con la excepción de dos pequeñas promociones de Emroque en Guadiaro y Taraguilla. La aprobación provisional del documento de Modificación

Puntual del PGOU de San Roque en el área NU-19 “Asonor”, del TM de San Roque,. se aprobó por unanimidad. Se trataba de modificar la califi-

cación de esos terrenos, situados en Torreguadiaro, que pasarían de no urbanizables a urbanizables. Se plantea la construcción de 161 viviendas, de las que 109 serían de renta libre y las otras 52 de protección. También se recogen espacios verdes alrededor de la Laguna de Torreguadiaro y el paso a propiedad municipal del terreno alrededor de la antigua torre de vigilancia.

En noviembre de 2020 se aprobó inicialmente esta modificación del PGOU. Los distintos organismos supramunicipales que tenían que informar sobre esta cuestión lo han hecho de manera favorable, aunque en algún caso condicionados a que el proyecto incluya una serie de medidas. Una vez aprobado provisionalmente por el Pleno, este documento debe enviarse a la Dirección General de Costas y, cuando este organismo verifique que se han realizado los cambios propuestos, a la Comisión Territorial de Ordenación del Territorio y Urbanismo, a la que corresponde su aprobación definitiva.

Plenary gives green light to the construction of more than 150 homes in Torreguadiaro

The approval of a specific modification of the PGOU which will facilitate the construction of more than 150 homes in Torreguadiaro, of which 52 will be subsidised, was a notable highlight of the Ordinary Plenary Session of the San Roque Town Hall in September. The mayor, Juan Carlos Ruiz Boix, regarding this specific modification of the General Urban Development Plan relating to land located in Torreguadiaro, although he pointed out that “this is as far as the Town Hall can go”, as the final approval corresponds to the Territorial Commission of Territorial Planning and Urbanism. Viajes a Waterloo

La extrema izquierda y el nacionalismo pueden mantener a Pedro Sánchez en la presidencia del Gobierno, pero ahora son necesarios todos los separatistas, en particular el líder de Junts per Catalunya, Carles Puigdemont, un prófugo de la Justicia española que reside en Waterloo. Por eso han aumentado allí los visitantes políticos.

Yolanda Díaz, vicepresidenta en funciones del Gobierno, se reunió con Puigdemont, y su partido, Sumar, ha propuesto al expresidente José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero como mediador entre Sánchez y Puigdemont. Como apuntamos en un artículo anterior, el problema es el doble precio que exigen los independentistas: la amnistía para los encausados por el referéndum ilegal y el referéndum para la autodeterminación de Cataluña. Ambos son inconstitucionales, y la posibilidad de disfrazarlos para garantizar su legalidad representaría un coste político para los socialistas.

siendo de 298,6 euros por habitación frente a los 275,8 euros del mismo mes del año anterior. Viendo esta situación se analiza que el aumento de los precios afecta poco a la demanda turística de los extranjeros.

Por otro lado, la subida de precios sí se nota en la de-

manda interna, sin embargo, la sociedad sigue mostrando un gran interés por viajar y no está dispuesta a renunciar a ello.

Ahora mismo, las personas residentes de España prefieren estancias más costas con hospedaje más económico, pero sin renunciar a unos días de vacaciones.

El Ayuntamiento de San Roque vuelve a abrir la bocana del río Guadiaro

El Ayuntamiento asume dicha labor cuando en realidad “es competencia de la Junta de Andalucía por motivos medioambientales y de salud”, coincidiendo en que van a reclamar al Gobierno regional las facturas de las cantidades abonadas en los últimos años solicitando un reembolso, según el Consistorio sanroqueño. En dicha desembocadura han tenido que utilizar maquinaria pesada para retirar la arena que impedía el intercambio de agua entre el Guadiaro y el mar desde hacía dos semanas. La teniente de alcalde delegada de Infraestructuras y Obras, Belén Jiménez, que ha estado presente en dicha retirada, ha destacado la actuación municipal declarando que, aunque se hubiera hecho el llamamiento a la Junta de Andalucía en tiempo y forma, dicha administración no iba a intervenir ya que su explica-

ción ha sido que el Consistorio asume la actividad por motivos turísticos. La edil recalca que en realidad se ha hecho por cuestiones medioambientes, debido a la fauna y vegetación del estuario, y también sanitarias, ya que están situados cerca de una urbanización donde viven

personas, independientemente de si son turistas o no. El taponamiento de la bocana del Guadiaro es una cuestión recurrente cada verano por el poco caudal del río y por la acumulación de arena que genera el levante. Una vez cerrada la desembocadura, la apertura debe hacerse en po-

Susana Pérez Custodio, nueva presidenta de la Mancomunidad Comarcal

Ante una amplia representación de autoridades provinciales y comarcales y representantes de la sociedad civil, que completaron la totalidad del aforo del salón de sesiones y tras las dos votaciones secretas celebradas por los miembros de la nueva Junta de Comarca de la Mancomunidad, la teniente de alcalde de Algeciras, Susana Pérez Custodio, ha tomado posesión como nueva presidenta de la institución comarcal.

Tras la jura o promesa de los cargos por parte de los nuevos vocales y presentadas las distintas propuestas a candidatos a la presidencia de la entidad, se sometió a votación las tres candidaturas propuestas, la correspondiente a la edil algecireña Susana

Pérez Custodio, del partido popular, la propuesta por el partido socialista a favor de la edil tarifeña

Lucía Trujillo Llamas y la del alcalde de Jimena y portavoz de IU, Francisco Gómez, renunciando las restantes formaciones a la designación de candidatos por sus opciones políticas.

La nueva presidenta contó con el apoyo de los representantes del Partido Popular, junto a los miembros de La Línea 100x100, Los Ba-

rrios 100x100 y San Roque 100x100, alcanzando la mayoría necesaria para su proclamación en segunda votación frente a los votos emitidos por los socialistas, favorables para Trujillo y los correspondientes a los representantes de IU en el pleno comarcal que votaron a su candidato. La edil algecireña de Vox votó en blanco. Excusaron su presencia en la sesión constitutiva los futuros vocales, Victoria González y Sergio Calvente, que tomarán posesión en una próxima sesión. Con la elección de Pérez Custodio como décima presidenta de la Institución comarcal, el Partido Popular alcanza nuevamente la máxima representación del Gobierno de la Comarca, “abriendo una nueva etapa política en la entidad”, en palabras de la nueva presidenta.

Pérez Custodio agradeció al alcalde de Algeciras y senador popular, José Ignacio Landaluce, el apoyo y la apuesta realizada a su persona, “una puesta que tuvo su inicio hace doce años y que, a partir de hoy, continuará en este

nuevo escenario comarcal”. Igualmente, la presidenta quiso tener palabras de agradecimiento para su familia y para las familias de todos los vocales de la Junta de Comarca, “al ser pilares fundamentales de nuestro trabajo como base, apoyo y sostén del ejercicio de la acción política”. La presidenta electa hizo un breve recorrido en la historia de la Institución para agradecer la labor realizada a sus antecesores en el cargo, pasando a esbozar los objetivos del presente mandato político. Pérez Custodio resaltó la necesidad de reforzar los estrechos vínculos y lazos sociológicos, culturales, familiares y económicos que la comarca tiene con la vecina Gibraltar. Junto a ello, dejó patente su compromiso con la promoción de la comarca, destacando la necesidad de realizar “una visión positiva y real de la misma, en consonancia con el trabajo realizado por todos los que en ella vivimos”. Se cumplen 60 años desde que unos visionarios comenzaran a construir lo que en la actualidad es uno de los principales polos internacionales de atracción turística. El más destacado de ellos, Joseph McMicking, un filipino-norteamericano con ascendencia española, empresario y coronel en el ejército estadounidense que combatió en la Segunda Guerra Mundial, fue el que adquirió las cuatro primeras fincas (entre ellas la más emblemática, Finca Paniagua) en las que empezó el desarrollo de lo que hoy, 60 años después, es Sotogrande. Educación, un valor diferencial en Sotogrande

El curso escolar 2023-2024 arranca con fuerza en el Valle del Guadiaro y nuevamente con cifras récord en cuanto a la comunidad educativa que la compone. Si hace tan sólo unos años habláblamos de una masa educativa cercana a los 2.500 escolares, en la actualidad la cifra supera los 3.000 ampliamente y engloba una importante suma, superior al 50% que opta por iniciativas de alta calidad en la educación privada y de alto nivel. Una comunidad que crece cada año y muestra la expansión en cifras de residentes en Sotogrande.

Education, a differential value in Sotogrande

The 2023-2024 school year gets off to a strong start in the Guadiaro Valley and once again with record numbers in terms of the educational community that makes it up. If only a few years ago we were talking about an educational mass of around 2,500 students, today the figure is well over 3,000 and includes a significant number over 50%, who opt for high quality initiatives in private and high level education. A community that is growing every year and shows the expansion in numbers of Sotogrande residents.

La comunidad escolar del Valle del Guadiaro supera los 3.100 alumnos este curso

• El nuevo curso 2022-2023 se inicia con 3.120 alumnos inscritos en los diferentes centros educativos locales.

• A pocos kilómetros de Sotogrande se sitúan varios de los mejores centros del país, destacando algunos de ellos, en el ‘Top 100’ nacional.

Inicio de un nuevo año escolar, despegue de emociones y proyectos académicos. Comienza el nuevo curso en el Valle del Guadiaro y con ello el estreno de muchas nuevas ilusiones. El curso escolar 2023-2024 comienza en el Valle del Guadiaro (y su área de influencia más cercana) con un incremento en la cuota de integrantes en su comunidad escolar. En números estimados (hasta que no co-

mience a rodar el curso plenamente e incluso ya en marcha estas cifras pueden variar), la comunidad escolar local se sitúa este año en unos 3.120 alumnos (aprox.) en total, una cifra que crece respecto a registros anteriores en los que se situaba en: 3.047 alumnos en 2022; 2.752 en 2021; 2.738 en 2020; 2.682 (2019), 2.550 (en 2018), 2.440 (en 2017), 2.183 alumnos (en 2016) o la doble

unidad de millar, a secas, en 2015.

Comunidad escolar local

Como es tradición, el Colegio Internacional de Sotogrande (SIS) lidera el número de estudiantes inscritos para este curso en la zona. Este año afronta el curso superando el millar de alumnos en sus aulas (concretamente 1250), lo que

supone un mínimo descenso respecto al censo del pasado curso en medio centenar de alumnos, una línea ascendente extraordinaria con más de un millar de escolares en sus instalaciones (150 de ellos en ‘borading’). Respecto al volumen de multiculturalidad en su aulas, destaca que el 70% de los mismos sean de origen extranjero, haciendo muy rica su comunidad culturalmente. Hasta más de 50 nacionalidades diferentes conviven entre sus clases; siendo la predominante la española seguida de la británica. Destacar, además de las más habituales, procedencias tan exóticas como Botswana, Arabia Saudí, Egipto, Santo Domingo o Malasia. Destacar también que cuenta con un número de profesores superior al centenar, un dato que es otra gran referencia en el sector.

Otro de los centros internacionales de referencia en el perímetro de Sotogrande que arranca el año académico con una cifra superior a los más de 60 alumnos en sus instalaciones es la escuela-bosque Alma Forest, que ya dimos a conocer el pasado año en las páginas

de este medio. El centro cuenta con edades comprendidas entre 3-6 en primera etapa, 6-11 siguiente etapa y 11-14 (para el curso 2024/25); con un plan de estudios acreditado de nivel internacional con el inglés como lengua principal de enseñanza, con clases específicas en español. Destaca el reconocimiento de la creatividad y los proyectos experienciales en un innovador concepto educativo en la zona.

También se encuentra en marcha, desde el principios del mes de septiembre, el nuevo curso para las guarderías y centros de primera edad. Los puntos municipales de Campanilla (San Enrique), con 35 plazas, y de Puente de Hierro en Pueblo Nuevo, con 41 plazas, habría que sumarle un cifra cercana al centenar que se reparte entre las diferentes guarderías privadas de la urbanización y todo el Valle del Guadiaro.

Recuperando el hilo de mayor masa académica, tras el internacional sotograndino se situaría el CEIP Gloria Fuertes (repartido en zonas de Infantil y

Primaria en Guadiaro y Pueblo Nuevo, respectivamente). En total acumula hasta el momento un total de 586 alumnos inscritos, lo que supone un crecimiento también respecto a los 580 del pasado curso. Se reparten, aproximadamente, entre más de 200 alumnos en Educación Infantil (Guadiaro), mientras que en Educación Primaria concurrirán este curso unos 380 escolares (Pueblo Nuevo).

Mencionar, en el siguiente apartado, al CEIP Barbésula en San Enrique de Guadiaro que durante este curso crece mantiene el crecimiento del pasado año en su censo. Este año alcanza cerca de 200 alumnos (divididos entre Infantil y Primaria). Para cerrar el capítulo local, el último en iniciar el curso en el IES Sierra Almenara (en Pueblo Nuevo). El centro, que ya sólo cuenta con niveles de secundaria, cifra en 340 alumnos, una cifra similar respecto a los 336 (aprox.) del pasado curso.

Otros centro de la zona, como Montessori, rozarían el medio centenar de escolares aunque es pronto para contar con una cifra exacta con el curso aún en su etapa de rodaje.

Alumnos que estudian fuera del distrito

Un amplio número de residentes de la urbanización y todo el Valle del Guadiaro eligen matricularse en centros vecinos y colegios cercanos. Tal es el caso de prácticamente un número cercano al medio millar, en muchos casos, buscando una diferenciación educativa a la propuesta de la zona.

Tal es el caso del Colegio San José, en Estepona. Este centro, que año tras años continúa consolidado entre los 100 mejores del país, recibe diariamente a más de un centenar de estudiantes procedentes de Sotogrande. En su mayoría de procedencia española aunque las nacionalidades británicas y rusas le siguen muy de cerca. También conviven en el centro procedencias como la belga, italiana, holandesa o francesa, entre muchas otras hasta alcanzar la cifra de 16 países. Su bachillerato internacional y las impresionantes infraestructuras y oferta educativa, convierten al San José en uno de los colegios más demandados de toda la Costa del sol.

• Within a few kilometres of Sotogrande are some of the best schools in the country, and some of them stand out among the “Top 100” nationwide.

The start of a new school year, the lift-off of emotions and academic projects. The new year is getting underway in Valle del Guadiaro and with it the launch of many new hopes.

The 2023-2024 school year is beginning in Valle del Guadiaro (and its closest area of influence) with an increase in the number of members of its school community. In estimate number (these figures an vary up until the year is fully started and even when it is underway), the local school community has around 3,120 pupils (approx.) in total, a figure that has grown compared to previous records where it stood at: 3,047 pupils in 2022; 2,752 in 2021; 2,738 in 2020; 2,682 (2019), 2,550 (in 2018), 2,440 (in 2017), 2,183 pupils (in 2016) and precisely two thousand in 2015.

Local school community

As is traditional, Sotogrande International School (SIS) leads the number of students enrolled for this year in the area. This year it gets underway with over one thousand pupils in its classrooms (1250 specifically), which means a minimal drop compared to the census of last year by fifty pupils, an extraordinary upward line with over one thousand pupils at its facilities (150 of them in boarding).

With regard to the level of multiculturalism in its classrooms, it is worth highlighting that 70% of them are of foreign origin, making its community very rich

culturally. Up to 50 different nationalities coexist in its classes, with them predominantly Spanish, followed by the British. In addition to the regular origins, it is also worth highlighting very exotic ones such as Botswana, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Santo Domingo, and Malaysia. It is also worth highlighting that it has over one hundred teachers, a figure that is also a great benchmark in the sector.

Returning to the thread of greater masses of pupils, behind Sotogrande international school comes CEIP Gloria Fuertes (spread between the Nursery and Primary areas in Guadiaro and Pueblo Nuevo respectively). In total, thus far it has accumulated a total of 586 enrolled pupils, which also means growth compared to the 580 of last year. Pupils who study outside the district

A large number of residents from the resort and all of Valle del Guadiaro choose in enrol in neighbouring centres and nearby schools. Such is the case of practically almost half

a thousand, in many cases, looking for an education different to the proposal of the area.

Such is the case of Colegio San José, in Estepona. This centre, which year after year continues to establish itself among the 100 best in the country, each day it welcomes over one hundred students from Sotogrande. Most are Spanish although the British and Russian nationalities follow very closely behind. The school also has nationalities such as Belgian, Italian, Dutch, and French, among many others, with the total figure reaching 16 countries. Its international baccalaureate and the stunning infrastructures and educational offer, make San José one of the most sought after schools on the entire Costa del Sol.

The Algeciras schools of Montecalpe and Puertoblanco are also two of the most sought-after destinations for local school community. More than one hundred students travel each day to these two schools, divided by gender, to undertake their studies. There is a similar case with the educational offers in Gibraltar, schools such as Loreto and Prior house almost one hundred students from the area; as well as in the Casa de la Virgen School, located in Palmones and it is becoming increasingly important in the Province.

Somewhat larger is the number of pupils in Valle del Guadiaro, baccalaureate students, who go to San Roque Casco to undertake their studies, approximately 150.

In summary, Valle del Guadiaro and Sotogrande comprise a large educational community, close to that of any average municipality in the province in which its high level of education stands out as an attraction and benchmark model to the outside world.

Mediating Leadership: keys to optimising performance after the holidays

Mediator Leadership means making decisions by applying the principles of mediation to promote collaboration and constructive resolution of various types of conflicts.

Personally, I mentor and train professionals from different fields who perform tasks of responsibility to manage conflicts between their employees, clients or relatives according to criteria of neutrality and mediating efficiency.

If you have recharged your batteries during the summer, I propose some simple guidelines for you to take advantage of the skills and abilities of the Mediator Leader for your own benefit. With a single precondition and 3 simple keys, you will be able to maximise your personal and emotional development during the small crisis of change and readjustment to the obligations and excessive burdens after the holidays.

The precondition is that you do not doubt at all - not even a little bit - that you can transform the situation immediately, from within yourself. Actually, you don’t need more than a few seconds to do so. Nor do you need anyone else’s help or approval. You just have to make the decision to transform your attitude, believe it - which is the hardest thing to do - and stick with it despite the external circumstances. It sounds easy, but it is not. If you doubt in the slightest your power to do this, you will not succeed. The keys that can help you are:

1. Filter the information that comes to you, discarding or ignoring judgements, images, reflections and complaints that are not framed within constructive messages. Everything that does not allow you to give your opinion and create constructively about it, question it assertively or ignore it respectfully, depending on the case. In other words, say you think differently or don’t say anything at all, but always keep in the belief that your mental health is more important than your money, other people’s opinions, moods and expectations. You will soon begin to notice that nothing bad happens when you do this.

2. Set clear boundaries: you won’t lose friends and genuine relationships by saying no. What will start to happen naturally is that you will lose your friends and relationships. What will start to happen naturally is that you will get rid of toxic and abusive attachments. Don’t be afraid to transform relationships that don’t contribute to you; there are plenty of harmonious and peaceful ways to cut ties that don’t do you any good. In addition to freeing yourself from them, it will improve your self-esteem. Keep in mind that a mediation process can also help you to do this.

3. Replace problems with solutions: replace empty time with quality moments, toxic bonds with inspiring relationships, complaints with gratitude, guilt with responsibility and worries with goals.

1. Filtra la información que te llega, desechando o ignorando los juicios, imágenes, reflexiones y quejas que no vayan enmarcadas dentro de mensajes constructivos. Todo lo que no te permita opinar y crear constructivamente sobre ello, cuestiónalo asertivamente o ignóralo respetuosamente, según el caso. 2. Pon límites claros: no perderás amigos ni relaciones auténticas por decir que no. Lo que empezará a pasar con naturalidad es que te desharás de vínculos tóxicos y abusivos. No temas transformar relaciones que no te aportan, hay multitud de maneras armónicas y pacíficas de cortar vínculos que no te hacían bien. Además de liberarte de ellos, mejorará tu autoestima. Liderazgo Mediador: claves para optimizar rendimiento tras las vacaciones

Quirónsalud y algunas recomendaciones para la vuelta al cole de los más pequeños

La vuelta al colegio empieza progresivamente a lo largo de esta semana y los más pequeños de la casa experimentan grandes cambios en su rutina tras el período veraniego. José Luis Díaz, jefe del servicio de Pediatría de Hospital Quirónsalud Campo de Gibraltar, señala varias recomendaciones para llevar a cabo ante esta circunstancia de finalización de vacaciones y vuelta a la rutina.

En primer lugar, el doctor Díaz destaca la realización de un chequeo con el pediatra, ya que “una de las principales recomendaciones es pasar una revisión general del niño o niña con su pediatra, con el fin de calibrar el estado en el que se encuentra y descartar en su caso cualquier posible problema que pueda afectar al desarrollo de sus actividades”. Después de un período vacacional,

una vuelta a una rutina establecida puede desembocar en amenazas para la salud de los niños, como problemas relacionados con la vista o dolores de espalda, entre algunos otros aspectos.

Otra recomendación relevante es determinar un horario de des-

canso y mantenerlo en el tiempo para que los niños se acostumbren fácilmente a él. “En líneas generales, los horarios y las rutinas se flexibilizan durante el verano y se hace más difícil controlar los tiempos de los niños. Por este motivo, consideramos importante marcar

un horario desde el primer día, para irse a la cama a una hora prudencial y levantarse al día siguiente en un horario que permita no ir con las prisas al colegio para tratar de que los pequeños descanses y no se desestabilicen”, apunta el doctor José Luis Díaz. Las actividades extraescolares también son importantes para una mejor adaptación al cambio de rutinas de la vuelta al colegio.

Apuntar a los pequeños a alguna de ellas es muy aconsejable “debido a que ayudan a socializar entre los chicos y chicas y los entretienen para aprender diferentes valores por la vía de la diversión. Es fundamental dar en el clavo con una actividad que a los niños les guste, que no la sientan como una obligación, como por ejemplo el deporte, cuyo ejercicio físico es clave para mantenerse en forma,

regular el organismo y provocar que les sea más fácil concentrarse, descansar y mantener una vida activa”.

En otro orden de aspectos importantes para adaptarse mejor a la vuelta a la rutina, el jefe de servicio de Hospital Quirónsalud Campo de Gibraltar hace referencia a la alimentación. “El desayuno de los niños es una comida fundamental, ya que, sin una buena nutrición desde bien temprano, los niños pueden acusarlo y limitar su energía a lo largo del día. E incluso puede afectarle a nivel emocional en sus relaciones personales con el resto de los compañeros. Es vital una dieta equilibrada y rica en los principales nutrientes que necesitamos para una vida saludable en todas las comidas del día”, apostilla José Luis Díaz.

José Luis Díaz, head of the Paediatric Unit at Hospital Quirónsalud Campo de Gibraltar, outlines several recommendations to carry out faced with the situation of the end of the holidays and return to routine.

Firstly, Doctor Díaz highlights carrying out a check-up with the paediatrician, as “one of the main recommendations is to undergo a general check of the child with their paediatrician, in order to calibrate the condition they are in and rule out, where

applicable, any possible problem that may affect them performing their activities.” After a holiday period, the return to a set routine can result in threats to the health of children, such as problems linked to sight and back pain, among some other aspects. Another important recommendation is to determine a time for rest and to maintain it over time in order for children to easily get used to it. “Generally speaking, timetables and routines are flexible during summer and it is more difficult to control the schedules of children. Therefore, we believe it is important to set a schedule from the outset, for going to

bed at an advisable time and getting up the next day at a time that makes it possible not to rush to school in order to try to let the little ones rest and not get destabilised” states Doctor

Limpieza especial en los accesos a los colegios, ante el inicio del curso

Operarios adscritos a la Delegación de Limpieza Viaria están llevando a cabo una limpieza especial en las inmediaciones de los diez colegios públicos del municipio, ante el inicio del curso escolar 2023/24 en Infantil y Primaria. Entre otras labores, se está aplicando agua a presión en las zonas de acceso a los centros.

La Delegación de Limpieza Viaria, que dirige el teniente de alcalde Juan Serván, ha encomendado a Valoriza, la empresa adjudicataria del servicio que, además de la labor que tiene encomendada a diario a lo largo y ancho de todo el municipio, cada semana se lleven a cabo este tipo de limpiezas a fondo en un núcleo de población distinto. Si bien el inicio del encuentro y buena parte del desarrollo del partido fue favorable para el conjunto de MB Polo, que regresó a Sotogrande años después de su última participación, Dubai poco a poco fue volviendo sobre sí mismo, hasta encontrar su mejor nivel en el quinto chukker y conseguir un parcial de 3-0 y para liderar el marcador.

Dubai wins gold again in Sotogrande

After a really exciting final, held on pitch 3 at Los Pinos, in Sotogrande, Dubai was crowned two-time champion of the Electrolit High Handicap Gold Cup, after winning 9-8 against MB Polo. Although the start of the game and a large part of the match was encouraging for the MB Polo team, which returned to Sotogrande years after its last appearance, Dubai gradually returned to form, to find its best level in the fifth chukker, and obtain a partial of 3-0 to lead the scoreboard.

In the final chukker and beyond the attempts of MB Polo to get close, Dubai was able to withstand the difference of 1 goal after the goals converted by Camilo Castagnola and Pablo Mac Donough, and celebrated the two-time championship, something that had not happened in this category in Sotogrande since 2016, when Dubai also achieved the feat.

Del 18 al 24 de septiembre será la primera vez que España acoge la Solheim Cup, el torneo de golf femenino más importante del calendario internacional y que enfrenta a los equipos de Europa y Estados Unidos cada dos años. Para la ocasión se han vendido 82.000 entradas y la organización augura un lleno histórico.

El campo de golf ha sufrido algunas modificaciones para adaptarse a las exigencias de la Solheim Cup. El nuevo hoyo 1 permite situar un graderío con capacidad para tres mil espectadores, que permitirá a la afición estar muy cerca de las jugadoras. En cuanto a la previsión de visitantes, Bernal ha recordado que “se han vendido 82.000 entradas, es una cifra récord, y es especialmente relevante que en el reparto de esas entradas el 50% vienen de Reino Unido y Escocia. Y también es importante que la media habitual de visitantes de EEUU era de un 2% y se ha alcanzado el 6%”.

El consejero de Turismo de la Junta de Andalucía, Arturo Bernal, cifró el impacto mediático de la Solheim Cup en “doscientos millones de euros. También esperamos unos 300 millones de euros de impacto directo e indirecto. Estamos hablando de un impacto global de unos 500 millones de euros, con un evento que no solo va a colocar a Andalucía y a Málaga como lugar de referencia, si no que generará un nuevo icono de los campos de golf

campos a nivel mundial”, ha dicho en referencia a Finca Cortesín, como ya sucedió con las instalaciones de Valderrama con la Ryder Cup de 1997.

Bernal también ha querido resaltar la especial sensibilidad de la Junta de Andalucía y de la industria del golf con la sequía. En este sentido, ha explicado que “el 80% de los campos de golf en Andalucía riegan con agua regenerada. Y el resto que no tienen posibilidad de hacerlo, están regando con agua no potable. Por lo tanto, es un mito y hay que explicarlo bien: ningún campo de golf en Andalucía está regando con agua potable. Es un grandísimo esfuerzo que se ha hecho por parte de la industria del golf”.

Los equipos están conformados por 12 jugadoras cada uno y el proceso de selección comprende la clasificación mundial, el ránking LET y la libre elección de integrantes por parte de las capitanas. El combinado Europeo está liderado por Suzann Pettersen y Estados Unidos por Stacy Lewis, encargadas de perfilar la composición de los equipos que se enfrentarán por el trofeo intercontinental. Europa ha vencido en cuatro de las seis últimas ediciones de la Solheim Cup, incluida la emocionante victoria de 2019 en Escocia (Gleneagles).

From 18 to 24 September it will be the first time that Spain will host the Solheim Cup, the most important women’s golf tournament on the international calendar, which pits teams from Europe and the United States against each other every two years. A total of 82,000 tickets have been sold for the occasion and the organisers are predicting a historic sell-out.

The golf course has undergone some modifications to adapt to the requirements of the Solheim Cup. The new hole 1 allows for a grandstand with a capacity for three thousand spectators, which will allow the fans to be very close to the players. As for the visitor forecast, Bernal recalled that “82,000 tickets have been sold, which is a record number, and it is especially relevant that 50% of these tickets come from the United Kingdom and Scotland. And it is also important that the usual average of visitors from the USA was 2% and has reached 6%.

Arturo Bernal, Andalusian Minister of Tourism, estimated the media impact of the Solheim Cup at “two hundred million euros. We also expect around 300 million euros in direct and indirect impact. We are talking about a global impact of around 500 million euros, with an event that will not only place Andalusia and Málaga as a place of reference, but will also generate a new icon of golf courses worldwide,” he said, referring to Finca Cortesín, as happened with the Valderrama facilities for the 1997 Ryder Cup.

Bernal also wanted to highlight the special sensitivity of the Junta de Andalucía and the golf industry to the drought. In this regard, he explained that “80% of the golf courses in Andalusia are irrigated with reclaimed water. And the rest, who do not have the possibility of doing so, are irrigating with non-potable water. Therefore, it is a myth and it is necessary to explain it well: no golf course in Andalusia is irrigating with drinking water. It is a huge effort that has been made by the golf industry.

The teams are made up of 12 players each and the selection process includes the world ranking, the LET ranking and the free choice of members by the captains. The European team is led by Suzann Pettersen and the United States by Stacy Lewis, who are in charge of putting together the teams that will compete for the intercontinental trophy. Europe has won four of the last six Solheim Cups, including a thrilling 2019 victory at Gleneagles in Scotland.

Tras la ronda deportivo, turno para el cóctel en atrio central de la Casa Club de La Hacienda, de la mano de Sal Verde, y como siempre con vinos de Marqués de Riscal y un exquisito jamón, cortado en directo por Popi.

En cuanto a la parte deportiva, los Premios Especiales fueron para Alejandro Ponce de León (Bola más cercana), Juan Antonio Merino (Drive más largo Caballeros) e Isabel Esteban (drive en Damas) que además finalizó segunda en la Cat. Damas, seguida de Isabel Mejías, como tercera y con el triunfo de Rose Marie Lund. En Segunda Cat. Caballeros, el premio fue para Juan Manuel Araujo seguido de Fernando Guerrero y Domingo Plazas. Mientras que en Primera Cat. Caballeros la victoria fue para William C. Pennington, seguido de Alfonso Morales y Dayron Ruiz.
