Durante los últimos días, prácticamente en todos los medios de comunicación de Andalucía y en algún importante informativo de televisión de una cadena nacional, se han recogido las imponentes imágenes tomadas desde diferentes puntos de la urbanización durante el fuerte temporal de los últimos días. Unas imágenes impactantes e incluso impropias de uno destino del nivel que se le presupone a un resort como Sotogrande. Lo cierto de todo esto es que por muy llamativas que sean estas secuencias, para los sotograndinos y vecinos de la zona (por no hablar del equipo de redacción de El Periódico de Sotogrande), se está más que acostumbrado a encontrarse, trabajar o publicar fotografías similares a las vividas en las últimas jornadas. Raro es el invierno que sobre el mes de enero o febrero no nos regala en los diferentes clubes de playa de la zona o en edificaciones cercanas a la playa y colindantes con el río Guadiaro, imágenes muy parecidas a las’ viralizadas’ durante este inicio del mes de abril. En diferentes tramos de la playa de Sotogrande, en el área de la depuradora, los accesos al búnker e incluso en la barriada de los pescadores de Torreguadiaro se conocen de memoria todos estos acontecimientos por lo cíclico de su acontecer. Pero la normalidad no debe hacer pasar por alto la necesidad de establecer un plan de previsión y conservación que evite estos graves daños cada vez que el temporal arremete con fuerza en la zona del litoral. Cierto es que construcciones cercanas a la orilla del mar siempre han luchado contra las inclemencias y acontecimientos de este tipo pero existen, en 2022, medidas preventivas que podrían adelantarse y evitar muchos de los daños a los que tienen que hacer frente vecinos y propietarios cada año por similares cuestiones. Cierto es que las imágenes impactan pero no es algo nuevo. Ojalá, para el próximo año, desde finales de verano se trabaje en planes de drenado y contención que eviten que se vuelvan a repetir.

Over the last few days, practically all the media outlets in Andalusia and one important television news show on a national channel, have shown the striking images taken in different points of the resort during the heavy storm over recent days. Striking images that are even uncharacteristic of a high level destination that a resort like Sotogrande is assumed to be. The truth of this is that however striking these images are, for the people of Sotogrande and residents in the area (not to mention the editorial team of El Periódico de Sotogrande) are very used to encountering, working with or publishing photographs similar to those experienced in recent days. It is rare to have a winter that, in January or February, does not offer very similar images to the “viral” ones during the start of April, in the different beach clubs in the area and buildings close to the beach and neighbouring Guadiaro river. On different stretches of Sotogrande beach, in the area of the treatment plant, the entrances to the bunker and even in the neighbourhood of fishermen in Torreguadiaro, people know these events off by memory due to the recurrent way they occur. However, normality should not ignore the need to establish a planning and conservation plan that prevents serious damage each time that storms heavily hit the coastal area. It is true that constructions close to the sea shore have always fought against poor weather and events of this kind, but in 2022 there are preventive natures that could predict and prevent lots of the damage that residents and owners have to face each year due to similar issues. It is true that the images are striking but it is nothing new. I hope that, by next year, from the end of summer, there will be work on drainage and containment plans that will prevent this happening again.

Este ansiado y esperado 2022 alcanza su Semana Santa, una ventana en el calendario clave para la temporada en la zona y especialmente para Sotogrande. Tradicionalmente supone levantar la persiana, arrancar los motores y recibir la llegada de nuestros ilustres visitantes en el primer periplo relevante de la campaña. Afortunadamente, en buena medida gracias a la pandemia, desde hace un par de años se afronta el invierno con otras perspectiva, con un continuo flujo de visitantes y con una población mucho más equilibrada y asentada durante todo el año en la urbanización: sólo hay que ver el crecimiento en el número de matriculaciones del Internacional, San José y otros colegios del entorno. Llega la Semana Santa y supone el banderazo de salida para muchas cosas importantes en nuestro entorno: es muy fácil caminar estos días por cualquier esquina de la urbanización o de la Marina y ver diferentes operarios esmerados en labores de mantenimiento, pintado o adecentamiento para esta primera gran ventana del año. Por ello, más que nunca este momento, se valora presentar el mejor Sotogrande posible, el mejor que sabemos dar y ofrecer la mejor versión de un destino irrepetible. Nos alegra enormemente publicar informaciones y noticias sobre planes de asfaltado, planes de recuperación y mantenimiento de playas, planes de conservación y rehabilitación para los desperfectos del último temporal, planes turísticos y de actividades vinculadas a la Semana Santa, programas de eventos y especialmente aperturas, como la que vivimos cariñosamente a primeros de abril en The Beach. Una verdadera delicia de evento y un verdadero placer que la empresa matriz apuesta por la apertura de sus instalaciones desde Semana Santa y hasta finales del próximo mes de octubre. Los clubes de golf están mejor que nunca, el polo ya asoma la crin por la esquina y el regreso de la Copa de las Naciones coloca en el mapa europeo, un año más tras dos de ausencia por la pandemia, al Real Club de Golf Sotogrande como epicentro de la cantera continental. • Un dispositivo especial ya trabaja en las actuaciones de limpieza y plan de recuperación para que todo legue a punto para la Semana Santa.

El temporal deja graves daños en toda la costa del Valle del Guadiaro El temporal de levante que azotó a la Comarca en los últimos días dejó importantes daños y desperfectos en la zona costera de Sotogrande y el Valle del Guadiaro. Sin duda, la zona de Levante, desde San Diego a El Faro, es la que se ha visto más afectada por el temporal, ya que es donde el mar combatió con mayor fuerza. Por ello, una amplia cuadrilla de trabajadores ya trabaja en intentar recuperar todo lo po-

sible las instalaciones de cara a tenerlas listas para la próxima Semana Santa. Más que reconocidas son las fuertes imágenes del agua entrando en las instalaciones de Trocadero Sotogrande, incluso en el interior del club de playa, como uno de los puntos más afectados. Si bien en el Puerto solo causó pequeñas averías, en la zona del Cucurucho el mar penetró junto con arena y piedras en las instalaciones,

provocando numerosos daños. La fuerza de las olas llenó de arena alguna zona del paseo marítimo de Torreguadiaro, así como inundó la zona baja del aparcamiento de la playa de Cala Sardina, afectando también a los dos chiringuitos. También la zona conocida como barriada de pescadores de Torreguadiaro se ha visto afectada e incluso el agua ha llegado a algunas de las viviendas. Así como toda la zona de la Calita y el Hotel Patricia, muy afectada en la zona de la terraza y en la primera línea de playa.

Recuperamos este fantástico documento audiovisual sobre los inicios de la urbanización de una pieza emitida en el NO-DO.

De la mano del archivo histórico de Radio Televisión Española, hemos encontrado esta fantástica pieza que pertenece al NO-DO emitido el 14 de abril de 1969. A partir del minuto 8:05 acontecen cerca de 45 segundos de corte en el que se pueden apreciar unas instantáneas impagables en la actualidad sobre los inicios de la urbanización. Los principales fotogramas muestras increíbles estampas del Real Club de Golf Sotogrande, en el interior de su Casa Club (la cuál se puede comprobar que guarda el mismo sello e idiosincrasia); además de algunas tomas generales de la entrada al re-

sort con el mítico logo de Sotogrande y alguna toma aérea con el Peñón de Gibraltar al fondo. Durante al pieza documental, la narración detalla lo apaci-

Comienza el plan especial para limpieza de playas en la zona

Operarios de la delegación de Infraestructuras y Obras y Playas están procediendo estos días a la limpieza de cañas y residuos de las playas del municipio, proceso que se espera tarde algunos días, dado el gran número de restos existente en las playas procedentes de los ríos.

Desde el temporal de lluvias de la pasada semana se han depositado en la playa toneladas de cañas y otros residuos, que están siendo recogidos por personal municipal a fin de que las playas estén adecentadas para Semana Santa. El teniente de alcalde de In-

fraestructuras y Obras, Óscar Ledesma, señaló que una decena de operarios municipales están procediendo a la recogida de los residuos. “Lo más laborioso es la selección de los restos, ya que hay que separar las cañas y los restos orgánicos, de los plásticos y otros residuos

antes de enviarlo al vertedero”, indicó el edil. En todo caso, ya se han limpiado las playas urbanas, las de Puente Mayorga, Guadarranque y Torreguadiaro, y en estos momentos se procede a la limpieza de las playas de Sotogrande y Faro. Sin embargo, se calcula que ha-

brá que utilizar medio centenar de camiones para retirar todos los residuos, “y lo peor es que se esperan nuevas lluvias el fin de semana, lo que volvería depositar cañas y otros materiales en las zonas ya limpiadas”. El edil ha señalado que “la aparición de estos desechos nos obliga a que los trabajadores que estaban dedicados a la instalación de duchas, pasarelas y otros elementos para dejar las playas preparadas para Semana Santa, deban ser utilizados para estas labores, por lo que la puesta a punto de las playas para estas fechas se podría retrasar”. El teniente de alcalde de Playas, Juan Serván, destacó que estas lluvias depositaron en las playas un elevado volumen de cañas, arrastradas por el mar, sobre todo en los 11 kilómetros de playa del litoral de levante sanroqueño, pero también en la Bahía.

Conexión directa en ayuda humanitaria • Una expedición de vecinos de la zona viaja hasta Polonia para recoger a un grupo de ucranianos y afincarlos en el Valle del Guadiaro. • Los voluntarios, tras vivir en primera persona la experiencia de un conflicto de tal crudeza, impulsan la creación de una asociación para ayudar a los refugiados. nocido, de cuyo idioma prácticamente no entienden una palabra, y fiarse de sus buenas intenciones”, relata Bezares, uno de los principales organizadores y promotores de hacer este viaje humanitario hasta Polonia. Y es que la experiencia es dura y difícil en todos los sentidos. Un viaje por toda Europa, de más de tres días de carretera, para alcanzar Varsovia, capital de Polonia dónde se reagrupan y censan relativamente a los muchos refugiados ucranianos. “Llegamos a una estación de tren que es el lugar en el que Las acciones verdaderamente importantes y de gran fondo humano, nacen de la manera más improvisada y desinteresada, bajo el valor de dar sin esperar nada a cambio. A mediados del pasado mes de marzo, con las noticias tan desesperanzadoras que llegaban del conflicto bélico en el Este de Europa y las imágenes de tantos ucranianos intentando encontrar acomodo lejos de sus fronteras, surgió en el seno de un grupo de voluntarios de la zona, la iniciativa de viajar por carretera hasta la misma orilla de la guerra y traer

de regreso al Valle del Guadiaro al mayor número de refugiados, dentro de sus posibilidades. Un gesto encomiable, cruzando más de 3.500 kms. por toda Europa, para lograr traer hasta el momento a nada menos que “15 personas, a las que se la han sumado otras 10 gracias a la colaboración y ayuda de muchas personas de Sotogrande y el Valle del Guadiaro”, explica Ruth Martin, una de las voluntarias de la expedición, junto a José M. Bezares y Francisco Agüera. “Es una de esas experiencias

que te cambian la vida y además ya estableces un vínculo muy especial con estas personas, no se trata sólo de traerlas a España, en este caso desde Polonia, hay que ayudarlas a conseguir un lugar en el que vivir, un trabajo y que se sientan seguras. Nos hemos encontrado con personas que tienen mucho y han vivido situaciones extremadamente duras, lo que les hace tener una gran desconfianza. Ellos abandonan sus vidas, con apenas una bolsa bajo el brazo, y tienen que montarse en el coche de un desco-

Un dolor al que hay que sumarle el miedo y la desconfianza que traen encima, después de cruzar todo un país en ruinas, muchos de ellos con familiares fallecidos o sin noti-

cias desde el frente, y encima, sumar el evidente miedo que existe a las mafias que también están presentes en la frontera y vinculadas al tráfico ilegal de personas”, detalla con total realismo sobre la situación. Son muchos los testimonios que llegan casi a diario a los medios de comunicación sobre personas que desaparecen por culpa de estas organizaciones criminales.

Felizmente, gracias al apoyo de una gran parte de la comunidad, la caravana partió hacia Varsovia cargada de víveres, medicamentos y otros elementos que demandaban los cooperantes, para sellar la recogida de un grupo de ucranianos. “Emprendimos el viaje de vuelta y ellos mismos tuvieron al fin la oportunidad, por primera vez en días de dormir en una cama o asearse debidamente camino de España, algo que pudimos ofrecerles gracias a la colaboración de muchos vecinos solidarios de la zona. Aunque lo más importante de todo esto no es nuestro viaje, eso sólo ha sido la semilla y la inspiración para que todo el Valle del Guadiaro y personas de toda la Comarca se vuelquen en ayudar a estas personas. Queremos canalizar todo ello y constituir una organización que nos permita gestionar estas colaboraciones”, agradecen los voluntarios. “Todas las personas que están llegando lo que quieren es trabajar y ganarse un lugar digno para vivir. Gracias a diferentes casas de acogida que se han prestado de manera solidaria en la zona, hemos podido instalarlos e incluso encontrarles un trabajo”, explican. “Casi el total son madres acompañados de hijos a los que después de encontrarles aco-

modo ya estamos ayudando a matricularlos en los colegios de la zona”, añaden. “Y en esto sí nos gustaría destaca algo muy importante: la aportación y colaboración que están llevando a cabo muchos rusos afincados en

la zona, están siendo los primeros en prestar su ayuda. Son perfectos conocedores de su idioma y costumbres; la comunidad rusa de la zona está ayudando enormemente en hacer más sencilla la aclimatación de estas perso-

nas”, matizan los voluntarios. Sin duda toda una hazaña que merecía ser contada pero aún más importante es la labor que está haciendo a favor de estas personas una vez arraigadas en nuestra comunidad.

Sotogrande – Ukraine Direct connection for humanitarian aid •

An expedition of residents from the area is travelling to Poland to collect a group of Ukrainians and settle them in Valle del Guadiaro.

The volunteers, after experiencing such a brutal conflict, are organising the creation of an association to help the refugees.

The truly important actions with great humanity, have arisen in the most makeshift and selfless way, with the added value of not expecting anything in exchange. Midway through March, with the really discouraging news coming from the war in Eastern Europe and the images of so many Ukrainians trying to see shelter far from their borders, a group of volunteers came up with the initiative to travel by road to the edge of the war and bring back the largest number possible of refugees to Valle del Guadiaro. A commendable feat, crossing more than 3,500 km of Europe, to manage to bring back thus far no fewer than “15 people, to which another ten have been added thanks to the collaboration and assistance of many people from Sotogrande and Valle del Guadiaro” explains Ruth Martin, one of the volunteers from the expedition, along with José M. Bezares and Francisco Agüera.

“It is one of those experiences that changes your life and you also create a very special link with these people, it isn´t just about bringing them to Spain, in this case from Poland, it is necessary to help them to obtain a place to live in, a job and make them feel safe. We have encountered people who have lots of fears and who have been through extremely tough situations, which makes them very distrustful. They leave behind their lives, with barely a bag under their arms, and they have to get into the car of a stranger, whose language they practically don´t understand a word of, and trust their good intentions” states Bezares, one of the main organisers and backers of carrying out this humanitarian trip to Poland. And the fact is that the experience is tough and difficult in every regard. A journey around all of Europe, more than three days by road, to reach Warsaw, the Polish capital where the many Ukrainian refugees

regroup and are relatively registered. “We reached a train station which is the place where voluntary workers and different NGOs organise and allocate all the humanitarian aid that arrives from all over the continent” states the volunteer. “You see really tough images there; it is all a little chaotic. You see people sleeping on the ground, in conditions with a lack of hygiene and entire families torn apart by the pain of the tragedy. Pain to which it is necessary to add the fear and distrust they carry with them, after crossing an entire country in ruins, many of them have deceased family members or have not heard news from the front, and on top of that, there is obvious fear of the mafias that are also present on the border and linked to illegal people trafficking” she states with complete realism about the situation. There are many testimonies arriving on an almost daily basis to the media about people who disappear due

to these criminal organisations. Fortunately, thanks to the support of a large part of the community, the expedition departed towards Warsaw, packed with supplies, medicine and other elements sought by the volunteers and they confirmed the collection of a group of Ukrainians. “We undertook the return journey and they themselves finally had the chance, for the first time in days, to sleep in a bed or properly wash on the way to Spain, which we were able to offer them thanks to the collaboration of many charitable residents from the area. However, the most important part of all of this is not our journey, that was only the see and the inspiration for all of Valle del Guadiaro and people from all over the Province getting behind helping these people. We want to channel all of that and set up an organisation that enables us to manage these collaborations” acknowledge the volunteers.

“Everyone who is arriving wants to work and earn a place worthy of living in. Thanks to different shelter homes in the area that have offered to help charitably, we have been able to settle them and even find work for them” they explain. “Almost all of them are mothers accompanied by children and after finding shelter for them we are helping them to enrol in schools in the area” they add. “And in this we would like to highlight something very important: the contribution and collaboration provided by many Russians who live in the area, they have been the first to offer their help. They perfectly know their language and customs; the Russian community in the area is helping a lot to make the acclimatisation of these people easier” note the volunteers. Undoubtedly a real feat that deserved to be reported but even more important is the work that is being done to help these people once they have settled in our community.

Más de 60 viales se incluyen dentro del VII Plan de Asfaltado en el municipio El VII Plan de Asfaltado supondrá la mejora de unos 60 viales repartidos en distintos núcleos de población sanroqueños. Los trabajos, que han sido adjudicados a AFC Construcciones y Contratas SL por 575.000 euros, y se iniciarán en este mes de abril. Hay que recordar que en los anteriores planes, desarrollados desde 2013, se han asfaltado unas 300 calles y plazas de todo el término municipal. Se presentaron inicialmente a esta licitación un total de diez empresas. Al finalizar el proceso, la adjudicataria ha sido AFC Construcciones y Contratas SL por importe de 475.093,63 euros, más 99.769,66 de IVA. Esta cantidad supone una rebaja de unos 100.000 euros respecto al presupuesto inicial. El plazo de ejecución se sitúa en dos meses. Como continuación de anteriores planes de asfaltado, y tras realizar técnicos del Ayuntamiento un examen visual de las calles del término municipal de San Roque, se han seleccionado una serie de viales perte-

necientes a distintos núcleos urbanos del municipio con un grado de deterioro elevado de su capa de rodadura. Se realizarán actuaciones en Torreguadiaro, Guadarranque, Estación de San Roque, Taraguilla, San Roque Ciudad, Pueblo Nuevo y San Enrique.

Para llevar a cabo las obras es necesario realizar algunos trabajos previos. Al tratarse de zonas urbanas consolidadas, la opción más viable para no cambiar las cotas de rasante de las calles es proceder al fresado de la capa de rodadura del firme manteniendo las ba-

ses existentes, así como realizar los correspondientes cortes del pavimento en los límites de la actuación. Una vez terminadas las labores previas y, si procede, se sanearán los blandones de la calzada, para realizar último el refuerzo del firme.

The work, which has been awarded to AFC Construcciones y Contratas SL for 575,000 Euros, will begin in April. Especial Semana Santa de San Roque 2022 Disfruta de la Pasión de San Roque en tres fabulosas publicaciones La Semana Santa de San Roque 2022, la primera con procesiones tras dos años suspendidas por la pandemia, contará con tres publicaciones a cargo de la Delegación de Tradiciones, el Consejo Local de Hermandades y Cofradías y la empresa Multimedia: la tradicional Revista Oficial; un tríptico con los itinerarios procesionales; y, como gran novedad de este año, un cuaderno para colorear en el que aparecen las imágenes que procesionan tanto en San Roque Ciudad como en las barriadas. Hay que apuntar que tanto la Revista Oficial como el tríptico de itinerarios se pueden recoger de manera gratuita en la sede de la Delegación de Tradiciones, en el Espacio Joven; en la sede del Consejo (calle Siglo XX); en la Delegación de Turismo (Pala-

cio de los Gobernadores); y en las oficinas de Multimedia (calle Pastora). El cuaderno para colorear se encuentra en los mismos puntos, además de en las alcaldías de barrio. El alcalde, Juan Carlos Ruiz Boix, recordó que en 2022, “tras un paréntesis de dos años” se retoman las procesiones. Añadió que esta celebración comenzará el 8 de abril, Viernes de Dolores, con los vía crucis, y que tendrá “su día grande” con la Procesión Magna del Viernes Santo. En cuanto a la Revista de Semana Santa 2022, apuntó que en la portada aparece reflejado el Cristo Yacente, titular de la Hermandad del Santo Entierro, y recalcó que la publicación ha sido elaborada por la empresa municipal Multimedia con la participa-

ción del Consejo Local de Hermandades y Cofradías y de numerosas personas. En este sentido, agradeció especialmente a los autores de las distintas fotografías que ilustran la revista. Finalizó Ruiz Boix mostrando su deseo de que “la Semana Santa brille” como antes de la pandemia, de manera que “vuelva a ser el punto de

encuentro con los sanroqueños y sanroqueñas que viven fuera de San Roque” y aprovechan estas fechas para regresar por unos días. Y también, que el movimiento generado por estas celebraciones religiosas redunde en importantes ingresos para los bares y restaurantes, “tras dos años muy difíciles”. En cuanto a la Revista Oficial de

Semana Santa, cuenta con contenidos aportados por el Consejo Local de Hermandades y Cofradías y con la elaboración de la empresa Multimedia En cuanto al cuaderno para colorear, aparecen enfrentadas una fotografía de cada una de las imágenes que procesionan tanto en San Roque Ciudad como en las barriadas con el dibujo de sus formas. La idea es que los pequeños y todas las personas que lo deseen puedan pasar el rato llenando de color esos dibujos. Finalmente, en el tríptico aparecen los horarios y recorridos de cada una de las procesiones de San Roque Ciudad, desde el Vía Crucis del Viernes de Dolores hasta la salida del Cristo Resucitado del Domingo de Resurrección.

As for the 2022 Holy Week Magazine, he stated that the cover shows the Reclining Christ, held by the Brotherhood of the Holy Burial, and he highlighted that the publication had been produced by the municipal company Multimedia with the participation of the Local Board of Brotherhoods and several people. In this regard, he especially thanked the creators of the different photographs that illustrate the magazine.

Ruiz Boix ended by outlining his wish for “Holy Week to shine” like it did before the pandemic, so that “it can once again be the gathering point with the people of San Roque who live outside of San Roque” and use this period to return for a few days. Semana Santa de San Roque

El Ayuntamiento, a través de la Delegación de Tradiciones, selló el convenio con el Consejo Local de Hermandades y Cofradías de cara a la celebración de la Semana Santa. La principal novedad respecto a otros años es que en la colaboración económica municipal se suman los actos con motivo del Tercer Centenario de la llegada de la imagen del Nazareno a San Roque. El alcalde, Juan Carlos Ruiz Boix, firmó el convenio junto al vicepresidente del Consejo de Hermandades, José Luis Perales. Participaron en el acto la concejal de Tradiciones, María del Mar Collado, y la secretaria general del Ayuntamiento, Ana Núñez de Cossío. Explicó el primer edil que, un año más, el Ayuntamiento colabora con esta entidad de cara al “embellecimiento y engalanamiento de la Semana Santa de San Roque, para que las imágenes puedan salir en este 2022 con todo su esplendor tras dos

años de pandemia. La última vez fue en 2019”, aunque apuntó Ruiz Boix que también se colaboró con el Consejo en este tiempo sin procesiones, sobre todo de cara a actividades solidarias. Añadió que el Consistorio no sólo hace esta aportación económica anual, sino que también se instala con medios propios la carpa de la que parte la Procesión de la Oración del Huerto, el Lunes Santo. A ello hay

que sumar, y sólo por este año, la aportación extraordinaria con motivo de los actos del 300 aniversario de la llegada del Nazareno a San Roque. Finalizó señalando que el Ayuntamiento se pone a disposición del Consejo Local de cara a los actos desde el Viernes de Dolores hasta el Domingo de Resurrección, en una Semana Santa en la que se prevén numerosas novedades tras dos años sin procesiones.

Aunque son numerosos los colectivos parroquiales que sacan sus imágenes en procesión en las barriadas del término municipal de San Roque, la más tradicional es la de San Roque Casco. Este año comienza el 8 de abril, Viernes de Dolores, con un Via Crucis. El domingo 10 se celebra la Procesión de Palmas y Olivos, y el Lunes Santo tendrá lugar la Procesión de la Venerable Cofradía de Nuestro Padre Jesús en la Oración en el Huerto y María Santísima del Mayor Dolor. El Martes Santo será el momento de la Venerable Cofradía del Santísimo Cristo de la Humildad y Paciencia, conocido como el “Cristo de la Caña”, junto a Nuestra Señora de la Esperanza. El Miércoles Santo comenzará con la Procesión de la Antiquísima y Venerable Hermandad del Santísimo Cristo de la Vera Cruz en el Calvario (Cristo de las Aguas), al que seguirán la Venerable Hermandad y Cofradía de

Penitencia de Nuestra Señora de las Angustias y la Venerable Hermandad de Nuestro Padre Jesús Cautivo y Rescatado “Medinaceli” y Nuestra Señora de la Merced. En cuanto al Jueves Santo, por la mañana procesionará la Venerable Hermandad de Penitencia del Santísimo Cristo de la Buena Muerte y María Santísima de la Amargura, mientras que por la noche será el turno de la Venerable Hermandad de Penitencia de Nuestro Padre Jesús Nazareno y María Santísima de los Dolores. El Viernes Santo será el día grande, cuando catorce imágenes recorran las calles de San Roque Ciudad. Se trata de la Procesión Magna del Santo Entierro, que se cierra con la Ilustre Hermandad del Santo Entierro y Nuestra Señora de la Soledad. Finalmente, el Domingo de Resurreción se desarrollará la procesión de la Agrupación Parroquial Nuestro Señor Jesucristo Resucitado.

The keys to following the 2022 Holy Week in San Roque Although there are several parish groups that parade their images in the neighbourhoods of the municipality of San Roque, the most traditional is that of San Roque Casco. Cuentas ante la inflación

La inflación, como ya señalamos en El Periódico de Sotogrande, es un impuesto que no se vota en el Parlamento, y que empobrece siempre a los ciudadanos, que ven que las cuentas no les cuadran, porque los precios suben más que sus salarios (https://bit.ly/3NNut1o). Pero no es solo la contabilidad privada la que sufre, sino también la pública. Es cierto que Hacienda se beneficia de la inflación mediante la “progresividad en frío”, es decir, el aumento de la recaudación que, por la escala progresiva de algunos impuestos, se consigue porque los contribuyentes obtienen más ingresos nominales, pero no reales. Ahora bien, ese efecto beneficioso para la Administración enfrenta dos efectos que van en la dirección contraria.

Por un lado, la inflación puede venir acompañada de una desaceleración en el crecimiento económico, como acaba de anticipar el Banco de España, lo que se traduce en una reducción de los ingresos públicos. Y, por otro lado, el gasto público tiene una conocida falta de flexibilidad, porque es fácil subirlo y difícil bajarlo. España tiene un elemento particular, que complica la contención del gasto: las pensiones. Antes de las perturbaciones provocadas por la invasión rusa de Ucrania, ya teníamos inflación y habíamos observado el golpe que ocasionaría a las cuentas del Estado, debido al compromiso del Gobierno de ajustar las pensiones con el IPC. El diario Expansión estimó que dicho compromiso “supondría un desembolso extraordinario de

13.500 millones de euros” en 2022, con un evidente agravamiento del déficit público. Hace casi un año discutíamos en estas páginas sobre las pensiones, y una doble sostenibilidad, la financiera y la política (https://bit. ly/3j69icV). Ahora vuelve a plantearse el problema, porque cualquier gobernante sabe que, si no salen las cuentas, lo normal es

que se deban tomar medidas impopulares. Por eso se habla hoy tanto de pactos de Estado, precisamente para disolver el coste político y electoral de dichas medidas. En cuanto a su coste económico, inevitablemente recaerá sobre las cuentas de los ciudadanos, aunque aún no sabemos de qué manera.

which complicates the containment of spending: pensions. Before the upheavals caused by the Russian invasion of Ukraine, we already had inflation and we had observed the blow that it may cause to State accounts, due to the commitment of the Government to adjust pensions to the CPI. The newspaper Expansión estimated that this commitment “would result in extraordinary expenditure of 13.5 billion Euros” in 2022, with a clear worsening of the public deficit. El Consistorio pide a la Junta de Andalucía que explique cómo y cuándo reparará el Puente de Hierro El alcalde, Juan Carlos Ruiz Boix, reclamó a la Junta de Andalucía que aclare en qué va a consistir la reparación del Puente de Hierro sobre el río Guadiaro, y también que diga cuándo se va a realizar. Criticó que “la falta de mantenimiento” ha provocado su deterioro y el actual cierre del tráfico para vehículos de más de tres toneladas y media, lo que ha afectado a una línea de autobús interurbano y, sobre todo, al transporte escolar del alumnado de Bachi-

llerato y Ciclos Formativos del Valle del Guadiaro. Ruiz Boix explicó que no había conocido el cierre del puente para vehículos de más de 3,5 toneladas a través de “una llamada de teléfono o un email” por parte de la Junta, sino que le habían informado usuarios de la línea de autobús entre Estepona y La Línea que habitualmente atraviesa dicho puente para recoger a residentes en el Valle del Guadiaro. En su opinión, se ha llegado a esta situación debido a

“la falta de mantenimiento” que ha sufrido esta infraestructura en los últimos tres años y medio de Gobierno autonómico de PP y Ciudadanos. En cualquier caso, apuntó que lo que más le preocupa es que este cierre ha afectado también al alumnado de la zona que estudia Bachillerato y Ciclos Formativos en los institutos Carlos Castilla del Pino y José Cadalso. “Se ha producido -señaló Ruiz Boix- un cambio de horario sin previo aviso que ha dejado

a niños y niñas en las paradas. Así actúa la Junta de Andalucía”. El alcalde espera que, después de todos estos inconvenientes, “la solución se haga bien. ¿Cuándo se piensa reparar, consolidar el Puente de Hierro para que se pueda reanudar el paso de vehículos pesados? ¿La Junta va a dejar el puente morir?”. Criticó que, hasta ahora, la única actuación de la Administración Autonómica ha sido poner “los dos discos” de

prohibición del paso de vehículos de más de tres toneladas y media. Finalizó el primer edil reclamando “lealtad institucional” a los distintos representantes de la Junta en la comarca, la provincia, al frente de la Consejería de Fomento y del mismo “presidente ausente” del Ejecutivo Autónomo. En concreto, reclama que se informe al Ayuntamiento de San Roque en qué va a consistir la actuación de reparación del puente y, también, cuándo se va a ejecutar.

The mayor hopes that, after all of these setbacks, “the

solution will be done well. When are they thinking of repairing, shoring up Puente de Hierro so heavy vehicles can begin travelling over it again? Is the Regional Government going to allow the bridge to die?”. He criticised that, until now, the only action of the Regional Administration has been to put up “the two signs” prohibiting the passage of vehicles weighing more than three and a half tons. The mayor concluded by calling on “institutional loyalty” from the different representatives of the Go-

vernment in the region, the province, in charge of the Department of Development and the “absent president” of the Regional Executive. Educación de Música San José Los días 29 y 30 de marzo tuvieron lugar en el Salón de Actos del Colegio San José los conciertos de evaluación del alumnado de la Escuela Oficial de Música San José donde se pudo disfrutar de piezas interpretadas al piano, violín, violonchelo o batería entre otros instrumentos. Con cerca de un centenar de alumnos, es el primer centro en Estepona autorizado por la Consejería de Educación de la Junta de Andalucía para impartir Enseñanzas de Iniciación, Básicas y Profesionales de Música en dieciocho especialidades sinfónicas impartidas por un equipo docente formado por licenciados superiores: arpa, canto, clarinete, contrabajo, fagot, flauta travesera, guitarra, oboe, percusión, piano, saxofón, saxo, trombón, trompa, trompeta, tuba, viola, violín y violonchelo. Como centro homologado ofrece a sus alumnos, tanto niños como adultos, enseñanzas regladas dirigidas a la obtención del Título Elemental y Profesional de Música. Quienes lo deseen pueden optar además a la acreditación internacional a través de Trinity College London (Marco Europeo de Cualificacio-

Durante este último mes hemos conmemorado a nuestra tierra, Andalucía. Para ello decoramos las puertas con sus distintas provincias y disfrutamos un desayuno con productos típicos. Hemos recibido a la primavera llenando el cole de colores, flores y alegría, y por ello estamos pintando el cole fuera y dentro, empezando a dar color a algunas aulas . En nuestro cole usamos metodologías innovadoras, y nos adaptamos a las necesidades e intereses del alumnado. Buen ejemplo de ello es que en Segundo de Primaria traba-

Por último resaltar el aprendizaje vivencial en Tercero de Primaria, aula que visitó el representante de zona del Alcalde de San Roque para sentir en primera persona una entrevista con un político, y tener la oportunidad de transmitirle dudas, necesidades… tras haber estudiado el ayuntamiento. Ha sido un mes bonito, de respeto y de diversidad en el que hemos celebrado el día del Síndrome Down con calcetines desparejados, y así seguimos sembrando valores en nuestro alumnado.

Innovation, colour and growth in learning During the last month we have commemorated our region, Andalusia. To do so, we decorated the doors with its different provinces and we enjoyed a breakfast with typical products. We welcomed spring by filling the school with colours, flowers and joy, and we are thus painting the school inside and out, beginning to add colour to our classrooms. In our school we use innovative methodologies, and we adapt to the needs and interests of pupils. A good example of this is that in the second year of Primary they are working with “Pokémon”. Lastly, we want to highlight the experiential learning of third year Primary the class received a visit from the Mayor of Sa Roque, in order to get first-hand experience of an interview with a politician, and have the chance to convey queries and needs to him...after studying the council. It was a beautiful month, of respect and diversity, where we celebrate Down Syndrome day with unmatched socks, and thus we continue to sow values in our pupils.

Las instalaciones de Marina Plaza acogen la distinguida y profunda muestra artística de Paloma & Keka Ferrari hasta el próximo 24 de abril. Una cita de obligado paso estos días en Sotogrande y que permite sumergirse en una increíble experiencia por un mundo de color, naturaleza y armonía a través de las diferentes piezas de la colección. Paloma Ferrari, gran amante de la cultura, comenzó sus estudios de arte en Florencia hace ya dos décadas. Desde entonces no ha parado de crecer artísticamente y de adquirir nuevos primas que le permiten presentar

The facilities of Marina Plaza are hosting the distinguished and deep art exhibition by Paloma & Keka Ferrari until 24 April. A must-visit for this period in Sotogrande and one that makes it possible to delve into an incredible experience through a world of colour, nature and harmony through the different pieces of the collection. Paloma Ferrari, a great lover of culture, began her art studies in Florence almost two decades ago. Since then, she has continued to grow artistically and acquire new assets, that enable her to present extensive and diverse work with lots of nuances. Having amassed more than 25 exhibitions, Italian inspiration is very present in her work and is conveyed in each of her strokes and painting style. However, the canvas is not an insurmountable boundary for Paloma, her passion for the eastern world, especially for Japan, has led her to put her art on incredible kimonos and even beautiful kaftans. Alongside her daughter Keka, she is currently presenting really beautiful work in Sotogrande. In turn, Keka is an engineer by profession but is equally passionate and scholarly about art. Faces and gazes stand out in her work, a concept that is very present in all of her exhibitions.

LA ESTIMULACIÓN COGNITIVA COGNITIVE STIMULATION

Las neuronas espejo Cuando un interlocutor se dirige a nosotros levantando la mano reproducimos el mismo gesto de forma automática, bostezamos al ver a otra persona hacerlo, sentimos un profundo pesar cuando vemos la tragedia de otros semejantes… De igual modo, si vemos a alguien feliz por algún acontecimiento sentimos su alegría. Todo esto se realiza de forma inconsciente, la mente no lo razona. Este fenómeno es debido a las neuronas espejo descubiertas por el neurobiólogo italiano Giacomo Rizzolatti. Llevando a cabo experimentos con primates, comprobó que estas neuronas se activaban no sólo cuando otro congénere cogía un objeto, sino cuando veía este gesto en una persona. Estas neuronas se sitúan en distintas zonas del cerebro, como la corteza premotora, implicando por un lado a áreas conectadas con el lenguaje, y por otro, con el sistema límbico encargado de las emociones. Las neuronas espejo son neuronas motoras sin involucrar la cognición y paradójicamente de una forma muy profunda. Estrechamente relacionado con la empatía, la persona se pone en el lugar del otro, tiene una escucha atenta y su mirada está puesta en la otra persona. Dicho esto, se dan casos en los que debido a alguna circunstancia o afectación, puede no desarrollarse esa empatía. Las neuronas espejo son decisivas para cualquier aprendizaje, ya que mayormente aprendemos por imitación. Por consiguiente, lo que vemos y experimentamos determina en un alto grado nuestras acciones y comportamientos. En paralelo, estas células se activarán en mayor o menor medida atendiendo a la importancia del acto, detectando no solo los movimientos, sino igualmente las intenciones. En otro orden de cosas, si a un nivel bioquímico hay una interac-

ción entre neuronas, se contagian las emociones en personas que son cercanas, estando por ende interconectados. Sin embargo, ¿por qué no empatizamos tanto con otras cuestiones que afectan a la humanidad en su conjunto?, ¿ Tal vez sea porque las consideramos muy lejanas?, ¿no nos vemos reflejados? Como aseguran los expertos en el funcionamiento del cerebro, “las mentes de los hombres son espejos de otras”. Si esto es así, lo que nos rodea, la vida en sí misma es otro espejo. Dado lo anterior, pareciera casi una “cadena de imitaciones”. Si a su vez nuestros actos y expresiones son igualmente relevantes en las actitudes de otros, sería interesante considerar ser más selectivos a la hora de elegir qué leemos, vemos y escuchamos.

Mirror neurons are motor neurons without involving cognition and paradoxically in a very deep way. Closely linked to empathy, the person puts themselves in the place of the other, they listen attentively and their gaze is on the other person. Having said this, cases arise where, due to a circumstance or affect, this empathy may not occur. Mirror neurons are decisive for any learning, as we mostly learn through imitation. Consequently, what we see and experience determines our actions and behaviour to a large extent. Parallel to this, these cells will be activated, to a greater or lesser extent in accordance with the importance of the act, detecting not only movements, but also intentions. Moving on to other matters, if at a biochemical level there is an interaction between neurons, the emotions spread to people who are nearby, we are thus interconnected. However, why do we not emphasise so much with other matters that affect humanity as a whole? Perhaps it because we consider them very far away? Do we not see ourselves reflected in them? As experts in brain function state, “the minds of men are the mirrors of others”. If this is the case, what surrounds us, life in itself is another mirror. In view of the above, it may seem almost like “a chain of imitations”. If in turn our acts and expressions are similarly relevant in the attitudes of others, it would be interesting to consider being more selective when it comes to choosing what we read, see and listen to.

El precio medio de la vivienda de segunda mano en España en el mes de marzo de 2022 mantuvo una subida del 0,75% frente a diciembre de 2021. Interanualmente, el ascenso alcanzó el 4,77%. Listening actively means conveying to the other that we do indeed understand what they are telling us and, above all, connecting with them on a personal level. Listening like this helps to create trust and of course facilitates cooperation and resolving possible conflicts. Therefore, remembering some keys for improving listening habits is really good to improve our relationships: 1. Pay attention to your non-verbal language in order to convey friendliness and calmness through your posture and visual contact. Nodding with the head and adapting our expression to what they tell us, will help the person to talk openly to us. 2. Paraphrasing by repeating, from time to time, with our own works, some key phrases that summarise what they’re telling us, will make the other person believe that we are attentive and interested in their narrative. 3. Do not be judgemental about what they are telling us as each person interprets a situation through their own perspective. 4. Do not underestimate the message of the other. It is normal for us to link the narrative of the other to ideas that we already have and to have a desire to comment on it. However, the best thing is to focus on listening and really delay those comments. Thinking about them will make us miss out on a lot of information that is important for the other person as we cannot listen to two conversations at the same time: that of our internal monologue and that of the other. That of the monologue will always win as out brain is made to listen to the information that we already think or believe and rule out what contradicts it. 5. Do not give advice if it isn´t requested. It is always better to find the solutions for yourself and not to hear directly from the other what we should do. La red de sendas ciclables alcanzará pronto los 16 kms. en la zona Más espacio para ciclistas en el Valle del Guadiaro y San Roque. El alcalde de San Roque, Juan Carlos Ruiz Boix, explicó que la red de carriles bici o sendas ciclables en el municipio alcanzará pronto los 16 kilómetros, tras la adjudicación hace unas semanas de 3 mil metros entre el Casino y el casco de San Roque. Ruiz Boix especificó que de estos kilómetros, ya se han ejecutado 10, otros 2 se encuentran en ejecución, otros 3 se han adjudicado recientemente, y en estudio está otro proyecto de más de un kilómetro. En ejecución se encuentran dos kilómetros entre las barriadas de Guadarranque y Puente Mayorga (por 1,2 millones), que se verá ampliado en un futuro hasta Campamento. Se adjudicó recientemente el carril bici o senda ciclable entre el

Casino y el casco de San Roque, de alrededor de tres kilómetros. Esta infraestructura ha sido muy demandada por los vecinos. Además, está en estudio el que comenzará al final de la carretera de Arenillas (Hotel Encinar de Sotogrande) hasta el Club de Golf La Cañada, por la vía

de servicio (más de un kilómetro). Ya están totalmente finalizados el carril que une San Roque con el Pinar del Rey, de 4 kilómetros; el que enlaza el segundo paso a nivel de la Estación con la zona del campo de fútbol de dicha barriada, de 1,1 kilómetros; y la Senda del Río Gua-

darranque, de 4,6 kilómetros, entre la Estación y la barriada de Guadarranque, pasando por Taraguilla. El alcalde indicó que “estas sendas ciclables vienen a dar respuesta a los aficionados a la bicicleta, pero también a los usuarios que hacen estos recorridos caminando”.

La Copa de las Naciones vuelve a Sotogrande con triunfo español • El equipo español vence en la general por equipos y hace doblete masculino en la individual gracias a Jaime Montojo y Luis Masaveu. Las chicas acaban terceras. Jaime Montojo, Luis Masaveu, Ángel Ayora y Alejandro Aguilera forman el excelente equipo español que se adjudicó con brillantez la Copa Real Club de Golf Sotogrande, Campeonato Europeo de Naciones. En la clasificación general por equipos, España terminó en el primer puesto con un total de 877 golpes, 22 golpes menos que Inglaterra, finalmente segunda, y 27 golpes menos que Italia, equipo que ha logrado remontar para completar el podio. Mientras que en la clasificación general individual, los dos jugadores españoles acabaron empatados en el primer

puesto con un total de 288 golpes, obligando a un duelo fratricida en forma de playoff que cayó del lado de Jaime Montojo. Tras ellos, tercero a dos golpes, finalizó su principal contrincante en este torneo, el danés Hamish Brown. Emocionante última jornada Esta última jornada no ha sido la mejor del cuarteto español, pero el trabajo previo ya se había hecho en las jornadas precedentes. El tercer día nos dejó a Paula Martín tomando el mando en la clasificación individual con una ronda de 73 golpes (+1), en la que destacó el hoyo en uno logrado en el hoyo 17 con el que terminó de enderezar una vuelta que por momentos amenazó con irse de las manos. Dressage Sotogrande inicia con fuerza su participación en la VIII Copa de Andalucía Dressage Sotogrande se desplazó hasta Marbella (Club Hípico Montemarina) para comenzar la Liga de la VIII Copa de Doma Clásica de Andalucía, representado en esta ocasión por 17 binomios que, después de una intensa jornada, obtuvieron grandes resultados, regresando a casa con 9 oros, 4 platas, 2 bronces y dos cuartas posiciones. En la categoría Clásica, Dressage copó el pódium con solo décimas entre sus tres jinetes. El oro fue para David Martin; la plata para británica Louise Thorne y el bronce para la amazona de origen sueco Karin Orsing. El jinete almonteño y entrenador del Equipo Diego Ramírez se colgó la plata en el debut en la categoría San Jorge. En Pony D, Curro Ramírez (11), consiguió el dorado con una media de 65. En la categoría Benjamín, Viktoria Bushlina ganó la plata, el oro fue para la amazona gibraltareña Stella McComb (10).

Por su parte, la amazona algecireña Mariana Fernández (11), se colgó el oro en alevines. La amazona madrileña afincada en Sotogrande Alejandra Pecino (11), montando a Guardian, en la categoría Promoción logró la primera posición de forma solvente. Al pódium de Asiento y Posición Junior se subieron Luis Canela

(9), que se colgó el oro y la pequeña amazona tarifeña Ana Petisme (8),que se colgó la plata. Y por último, como colofón de la jornada, el equipo vivió de forma muy especial el emotivo debut del jinete algecireño Ángel Álvarez, que en la categoría para-ecuestre Grado 1, montando a Kira, se colgó el oro .

Dressage Sotogrande makes strong start to VIII Andalusian Cup Dressage Sotogrande travelled to Marbella (Montemarina Riding Club) to begin the league of the VIII Andalusian Classical Dressage Cup, represented on this occasion by 17 pairings who, after an intense day, obtained great results, returning home with 9 golds, 2 silvers, 2 bronzes and two fourth places. In the Classical category, Dressage occupied the podium with just tenths of points between the three riders. Gold went to David Martin; silver went to the Brit Louise Thorne and bronze went to the Swedish rider Karin Orsing. con un brillante segundo puesto en la categoría Masculino Sub 13, que lo mantiene segundo en la clasificación general. Esta prueba se incluye en el calendario oficial de la Federación Andaluza de Vela y era

clasificatoria para el campeonato de regional. Contó con la presencia de más de 75 regatistas de categorías Sub 11, Sub 13 y Sub 16, pertenecientes a los clubes R.C.M. Mediterráneo, R.C. Candado, C.N.M. Benalmádena, C.N.
