Llegar a casa fue lo mejor que iba a pasar ese día. Los muebles dejaban ver que el polvo seguía en su sitio, como antes de que ella se fuera. Platos, vasos y cubiertos esperaban desde la noche anterior a ser fregados. Pero lo que acabó realmente con su paciencia fue el intento de colada que se intuía en el salón. Arriving home was the best thing for her to happen. The furniture were covered by dust just as before. Plates, glasses and the cutlery were waiting from last night to be washed. But the thing get on her nerves was his attempt of doing the laundry, you could guess on the living room. Hoy es lunes, doce de Noviembre. Alicia ha tenido el peor lunes en lo que va de año. Cuando se levantó esta mañana no había agua caliente y se ducho con agua fría. Llovía y las obras en Valencia propiciaron un atasco monumental. Llegó tarde al colegio. Los niños estaban insoportables. A uno de ellos le dio por saltar de su pupitre al suelo y por poco se abre la cabeza.
Today is Monday, November the twelfth. Alicia has had the worst Monday of the whole year. When she woke up this morning there was no hot water so she had to shower with cold. It was raining and Valencia’s road works led to a monumental traffic jam. She arrived late at the school. Kids were especially naughty. One of them just jumped off the top of his desk and nearly cracked his head open.
Además acabada la jornada con los niños le tocaba reunirse con los padres de un alumno y de vuelta a casa soportó el mismo atasco que a la ida. Pablo no trabaja esta semana, tiene unas pequeñas vacaciones...
even more, once she finished her day with the kids she had to meet with a student’s parents and on the way back home she suffered the same traffic jam she put up with in the morning. pablo is not working this week, he has a little holiday.
Alicia quería limpiar la casa el sábado pero Pablo se negó argumentando que él podría hacerlo a lo largo de la semana dado que no trabajaba. Aun así Alicia, cuando se levantó el lunes, escribió una lista con las cosas que se tenían que hacer en casa, planchar, fregar, limpiar el polvo y ordenar el salón.
alicia wanted to tidy up the house on saturday but pablo refused, arguing that he could do it during the week as he was not working. even so alicia, when she got up on monday, wrote a list with the things that needed to be done in the house: ironing, washing up, dusting and tidying up the living room.

getting home was the worst thing to happen that day. the furniture was still dusty, and the plates, glasses and cutlery were still not washed from last night.
