If you have one year to live... what would your DREAM be?

Founded in 1994, the mission of Dream Foundation is to enhance the quality of life for individuals and their families battling life-threatening illness. Dream recipients are 18 years and older and have been given a limited prognosis of a year or less life expectancy. Dreams range from basic needs items, like a comfortable chair in which to rest, to family vacations with children. With more than 2,000 anticipated dream requests for 2011, Dream Foundation relies on donations of cash, airline miles, and other resources to make dreams come true.

Young Survival Coalition Seattle began in 2002, and is an affiliate of the premier international organization dedicated to the critical issues unique to young women and breast cancer. YSC offers resources, connections, and outreach so women feel supported, empowered, and hopeful. YSC seeks to educate and influence the medical, research, breast cancer, and legislative communities to address breast cancer in young women, and to ensure that no woman diagnosed under 40 faces breast cancer alone.

Last year – two weeks before Christmas – Zoh found out that her breast cancer had become terminal. With two young children, ages 3 and 9, her dream was to spend time with her family: “My wish would be for me and my family to be able to get close to something louder than my Cancer. To have some laughter, wonder, excitement, some medicine against the horror and shock of this year. I know if we could step away just for a few days we could put some punctuation on this time and move forward as a family, lighter and less wounded. My wish is to be just myself, for my family. This trip, this wish, would be our only family vacation.” Dream Foundation flew Zoh and her family to Santa Barbara where they stayed at a beautiful beach house donated by one of our local supporters. For one week, the “dream network” rallied together and offered dinners, s’more-making baskets, zoo tickets, and Disney tickets, ensuring Zoh’s dream was magically fulfilled. Said Zoh, “I was trying to find ways to help my family have as much of me as they could…ways to help with finances, ways to help with memories, ways to help lessen the sting. I found Dream Foundation.” Conveying her appreciation to those who make dreams come true, Zoh interprets a dream, “A dream is a kind of acceptance that you are held up…and you are loved.” Thank you for making dreams come true.

Brooke began her radio career at KZZU in Spokane, WA hosting the first all female AM drive show and has been lucky enough to remain in the Northwest doing morning radio at KKRZ in Portland, OR and now Seattle. She is a bold all American tomboy that is passionate about her friends, her family and new adventures. The 30-year-old is a former hip hop dance instructor, an outdoor enthusiast and she can drink grown men under the table in a heartbeat. She feels so sex-and-the-city in her urban pad in downtown Seattle. However, she is still a little overwhelmed that there are more people in her condo building than there are living in her hometown in North Idaho.

Jubal is a standup comedian and comedy writer. He has performed with some of the biggest names in the business. He writes and produces bits and daily topical jokes that are used by radio stations nationwide. In addition to making people laugh, Jubal has two other passions in life: golfing – which he does VERY poorly, and drinking – which he does VERY well. Jubal lives in Queen Anne with his two roommates “Big Perk” and “Young Money”, in a place that they call “The Man Ranch”.
